I’m from Germany and I think, that LOTL will finish between Top 14 and Top 21 (not better, not worse). Germany has a good band this year and can be proud to have a good song.

Unfortunately, for me the German entry is a candidate for bottom 5 in the final. Not fresh and contemporary like Australia. I don’t mind rock songs, I liked the Finnish entries of the last two years. But the staging, performance and song are weak to my senses. Good luck Germany!

For me, Australia and Austria rock and are the best group acts of this year’s competition!

I don’t think he means the Austrian entry is rock, but rather that the song rocks, meaning it’s fantastic music.

You can also use it for a person. eg ‘John rocks’, meaning John is a great guy.

It’s an English idiom, simply meaning something or someone is/are very good.
To rock = to be very good

I don’t know if English is your first language, or it might be that you speak English & simply skim read the post. ?

A bit surprised because they are not amazing live. I was watching them when they were opening for Iron Maiden and I was disappointed how they sounded live. The singer is especially weak, which is bad for Eurovision. Compared to them, Voyager is on a whole different level, like a world-class to a school band almost. I assume people like German song more, but band quality is a bit better than Latvia and San Marino.

I’m surprised you’ve said that. It doesn’t tie in with what I’ve seen, although I’ve only seen them “live” online. There’s something special about being truly live, an atmosphere of sharing something special with hundreds or thousands of other people, & there’s also an energy you don’t get on a studio recording. Steve Harries gave an interview with a metal website a couple of years ago & he was asked to name 3 bands he thinks would blow up that year. He named 2 bands whom he had personally asked to be allowed to tour with Maiden, one was Lord… Read more »

For some reason the content of the article isn’t showing up, its just the title and then the writer. If I counted right, do we have 13 groups/duos? In terms of my picks in relation to this poll, unfortunately Germany’s song is not my cup of tea, I’ll explain further in my review when the Germany ranking is posted but yeah, its not my cup of tea and I am a tad bit surprised to see it winning here because I have seen more hype for some of the other bands in the comments in previous posts. Austria being second,… Read more »

Are they really the readers’ favorites? Or just the favorites of the Lord of the Lost fans/Germans that only came here to hijack the poll? It’s obviously the latter.

Have you ever thought about the fact that the band has been around for a long time and is also better known internationally than many of this year’s ESC acts? Or that there are people who find them very likeable as people? Or even really like their song? Even if it was only the fanbase that voted, you should accept that because that means there are a lot of people who like it. And if that’s the case, then think about why that is!

It’s the first time since Michael Schulte that I really like our own entry. These boys don’t deserve a spot on the right side of the scoreboard!

Should not be ? My experience at least. Often the most intetesting and original songs. And I love band performances. ESC is about Music
