The rehearsals are over. The wind machines have been charged. And the 26 acts competing in the grand final of Eurovision 2023 are now zipping their zips and painting those lips. Amid all of that action, we’ve taken a breath and tallied the results of our poll, “Who should win Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool?”

Following the second semi-final on Thursday evening, when the line-up was complete, we gave our readers 36 hours to vote. And boy did they. We counted a total of 20,156 votes and the results are in. Finland’s Käärijä is our readers’ favourite to win with his banger “Cha Cha Cha.”

Finland’s Käärijä is our readers favourite to win Eurovision 2023

It’s crazy, it’s party! Much like every other poll he’s featured in, Käärijä once again emerges as our readers’ favourite. The pina coladas will be flowing when the Finnish star takes to the stage, with many fans thinking he could be the one to give Finland their second Eurovision victory.

“Cha Cha Cha” earned 20.71% of the vote, which is 4,175 votes.

The song is all about his social anxiety and how, after a few drinks, he’s able to let loose. And he’ll be extra loose tonight as he unleashes his neon pink flamenco dancers from his giant crate and moves toward freedom.

Eurovision 2012 champion Loreen is used to winning. But in this poll, the Swedish star finds herself in second place. She creates a unique visual universe, serving Tomb Raider beauty as she sings of loving the right person at the wrong time. Performing on a box and beneath a hanging rectangle, she is the meat in a delicious sandwich of technical splendour and vocal power.

“Tattoo” secured 2,561 votes — 12.71% of all those cast.

Only skilled singer is Marco Mengoni, together with a few others. Loreen had problems of intonation all the week, also in the jury show.

WHY FINLAND WILL WIN 1/ He has momentum and his rap song is more in the zeitgeist , while Swedens is just a rehash from 11 years ago 2/ Finland has the best running order coming after Loreen and after two ballods 3/Sweden will likely win the jury vote but she will not run away with it as there are other very good songs to compete against and share votes 4/ Sweden will do much poorer with the TV vote than most people expect ; you can just sense that’s there’s not much enthusiasm for a rehash of a 2012… Read more »

Guys, its pointless to keep comparing Sweden and Findland. They are utterly different, its beyond comparison.
Let it be… either one will be an amazing winner a d it depends on Europe’s mood tonight…

As mainstream pop song Sweden wins.
As eurovision song entry Finland wins.

Interesting. Norway, Austria, Italy out of top 10. Ukraine second last.
I don’t vote myself but hope Käärijä wins the ESC 2023.

I trust my compatriots in Australia and as an older person who follows ESC for about 60 years, let the young people decide.

I’ve never dreaded finding out the results to a Eurovision final result more than I am now for this year. If Loreen wins over Käärijä, half of the fansites, including this one, will just devolve into a series of relentless p!ss!ng matches on who can be the most bitter. Especially if Finland wins the televote.
Like both Sweden and Finland are tied as my no.1 this year, but I almost want Finland to win just so I don’t have to avoid every comment section in the aftermath of this year’s contest.

Good to know, but I don’t agree with those results at all…

These results are an utter travesty, they really gave the awards to the returning artists just because, instead of even caring to consider what the newer ones had to offer.
Composer should’ve gone to France/Finland.
Press to Sweden, as it went.
Artistic should’ve gone to Armenia.

That’s funny how many people question vocal capabilities of other contestants (most notably Blanka’s) and whether or not they deserved their spot in the grand final based on that, while the truth is that Kaarija can’t sing too. Whatever he does that’s not singing. He mainly screams throughout the song and makes stupid moves. I really don’t find the appeal there and why he is a main favourite to win the trophy is beyond me.
