Twenty-six acts sang in the grand final of Eurovision 2023. Austria opened with a chaos bop involving the author Edgar Allan Poe, while the United Kingdom closed with a song about channeling aggression after a breakup. In between we saw men wearing dresses (with moustaches that nodded to dictators of the past) and a Canadian-born chanteuse balancing on a plinth while serving French disco. But in the end it was Sweden‘s Loreen who topped the vote to win Eurovision 2023.
Loreen’s victory makes her the first woman ever to win the contest twice and only the second artist (after Ireland’s Johnny Logan) to achieve the feat. She did it by topping the jury vote and coming second in the public vote. Finland’s Käärijä, who finished 57 points behind Loreen, won the public vote but came fourth with the jury.
“I’m so happy,” Loreen said on stage while collecting her trophy. “I’m so thankful. Thank you for this. This is for you. Thank you.”
Next year’s contest, which will take place in Sweden, coincides with the 50th anniversary of ABBA’s win with “Waterloo” in 1974.
Sweden has now tied Ireland for the most wins — with seven.

How are you feeling about the results? Did the best song win? Do you prefer the jury results or the televote results? Let us know in the comments box below!
Man this comment section’s a dumpster fire. I’m just gonna say:
The telenovela is finally clear. We all know the reason why Sweden won. Abba changed advice very quickly. First they said they would never be present to the Eurovision in Sweden. Now they changed advice. I am sure SVT is applying the same pressure they applied to Loreen in order to participate and stage the fake victory.

I’m from the Netherlands. I checked our jury and 2 people from our jury aren’t even music experts, one is a comedian and the other one is a host for television. Guessing something like this is also the case for other countries. So basically, juries aren’t even music experts anymore but famous people from a country. Because, genuinely, how does a famous comedian and a regular person watching Eurovision differ in music taste that the former is allowed to become a jury? If you’re gonna make a jury, do it with only real experts and not just famous people!
What happened to the 5th jury member of Ireland? Is that one disqualified?
Same question for Latvia
In case you have not heard cha cha cha cover by Lord Of The Lost you have to listen, it’s great.

A long interview of LOTL was just uploaded on YT from ESC-Kompakt (german).
Despite coming last they loved everything about ESC and have only good memories.
Big 5 to be abolished. They should qualify like all other entries.
No juries, it should be peoples choice, only televoters to decide.
Points should be awarded from first to last, not only top 10.
Top 5 abolished. Ok but we will pay less, as everybody else. Ok?
Previous winners shoud be exluded from future entries.
Non-winners wait a minimum of 5 years to enter again.
Winners have unfair advantage as seen this year.
Charlotte Perrelli and Dana International say hi
Last news, Marco Mengoni has got a gold record in Switzerland. He is the first singer among all the ones in Eurovision 2023 (Loreen included) to have a certification in Europe and outside his country. He hasgot 3 platinums in Italy, already. Not the gold in Switzerland.
Errata corrige: Now the gold in Switzerland.
Well deserved. It was a great song.
We had a similar discussion at coworking Malmö. Even though I am very happy that we won first place, I think Loreen could do better. When I watched her performance I got the feeling that her singing and the music were not synchronized. The first time she did better. Still, she has a great voice. Probably the song was not good enough.
SWEDEN!
Are you a dog barking at the moon?
Sweden winning with a hit song was an epic moment. Loreen is a awesome performer. A great live act. Seeing her and the other delegations delight at Loreen winning was epic.
I hope Loreen’s success will lead to more of her songs being released. We need that EP she promised us some time ago.
Norway: The jury ruined it for the big favorite
Stig Karlsen, Norwegian Head of Delegation says to Dagbladet:
“The jury system in Eurovision definitely needs to be evaluated and the debate is very welcome. There has been a difference between the jury and the public vote in the past as well, but this year it became extremely distinctive. The people obviously had a different winner. The fact that a jury of 185 people should have as much power as millions of TV viewers is questionable.”
1 million thumbs up to Stig.
You cannot possibly have 37 juries giving just 52 jury votes to Norway while the public gave Norway 216 Televotes.
I said it before, and I say it again. The juries knew that Finland and Norway were massive televote threats, so they eliminated both in the Juries section.
I’m not sure why no other broadcasters have not publicly objected yet. I wonder if this could actually be the first salvo hitting back at EBU??
The EBU is still silent on the issue. They know they have a massive PR disaster on their hands.
150 points to Finland can hardly be called elimination.
It sure is when 14 juries gave Finland zero points, while 18 countries gave Finland 12 points, 9 gave Finland 10 points and 4 gave Finland 8 points.
That’s 31 out of 37 countries had Finland in their Top 3.
Sweden’s equivalent numbers are: 0 countries gave it 12 points, 8 gave it 10 points and 8 gave it 8 points.
That is only 16 out of 37 countries had Sweden in their Top 3.
I am very happy that the Norwegian Head of Delegation has gone public.
Hopefully others will too.
Yes, agree 100%.
I find it worrying that a big fan web portal like this one do not write articles how to make voting fairer after this massive let down. They all keep silent. Do they feel guilty for having pushed for Sweden winner too hard and one sided?
I’m not sure MoGu. I’m also puzzled why everyone – EBU, Fan Clubs, Broadcasters – have all suddenly gone silent. This jury win has become a very hot potato.
Stig is the first official I am aware of that has been this frank and direct. Is something happening behind the scenes that’s creating the silence?? Are they hoping that it will go away?? (I’m not sure it’s going away.)
Over at YT many videos are already popping up about the biased jury voting.
If the debate will end up with a modification of the juries or the jury weight, I see it hard for Sweden winning again. Unless they will bring some really innovative song or not a copy and paste who already won. Maybe the big heads ib Sweden shall start to think more on how to win the televote, not to rig the juries. But unfortunately, due to some Swedes here, it will be difficult for many televoters to forget the arrogance of a country who uses Eurovision as they carpet or to project the power they never had, they don’t… Read more »
For me the real questions are: what does EBU do with juries moving forward & how will the general televoting public punish Sweden in the future? The jurors have shown themselves to be totally biased and blinkered towards certain countries. The EBU now has a massive credibility issue. The general voting public feel cheated, while Sweden’s image has also been severely damaged by the antics of these ‘professional jurors’. Four times in as many years the real winner has been denied due to these ‘professional’ juror’s voting patterns. Sweden has benefitted twice as a direct result of these jury votes,… Read more »
Concerning Norway, today on my IG timeline it appearer a video of Gabri Ponte, the genious behing Eiffel 65 now working alone or together with Lumix (Eurovision 2022) who hints Queen of The Kings and his song Thunder are identical. Go to watch it by yourself. 🙂

Sick of people who claim plagiarism if there is a faint similarity. Millions of songs have been released, there is bound to be one that has some similarity. Most possibly the new songwriter never heard of the other.
Greg, I replied to you to your wonderful long post on the history of Eurovision and the rigged voting. Go to read it.
Thanks Vincenzo. It’s how I feel.
The 50/50 system was meant to eliminate the bias of diaspora & bloc voting. Instead, it’s become a tool for 200 nobodies to manipulate the outcome and over-ride the public choice. This year was most extreme example yet.
This current system is destroying the contest and leaving the majority of fans angry. When a song that attracts almost 85% of the max points still is deemed to be the ‘losing’ song then you know something is wrong.
But off course Frederik/Tony will ride in and tell us we’re sore losers.
I’ve just reposted the same comment here again: Fredrik – you totally represent this new generation that throws tantrums and tries to shut down anyone who they don’t agree with. You’re the one who refuses to acknowledge the disproportionate role that juries played in securing Loreen’s win. For the record, I belong to the ‘old’ generation. My very first Eurovision Song Contest was in 1980 as a young kid. I remember Ireland winning with ‘What’s another year’. I used to look forward to watching every single contest since then, but not as enthusiastically since 2015 when the juries destroyed what I consider… Read more »
That’s rich coming from these two tools above. Greg and Vincenzo have been moaning and fighting with people here for weeks. Lol.
The egos are bigger than the brains of these two ESC hot shots. Big LOL.
Surely my brain is bigger than yours. I can stand any IQ test against you. The only problem is that you are Swede and believe to be better than anybody else. Except that when you ask to Nato to enter because you are pi$$ing your pants.
Fredrik – you’re the one that is fighting with anyone that doesn’t agree with you. You personally attack others like me & Vincenzo purely because we do not agree with you.
I have a right to an opinion – and I am expressing that opinion. I also back up my opinion with Stats and facts. You just name call anyone who doesn’t agree with you.
Greg, isn’t it time for you to move on. This desperate and frankly childish act you are playing, it not a good look for you.
I understand that Loreen winning made you bitter. But these ”facts” you are so kean to mention is ”I don’t like the jury”. ”I don’t like Tattoo”, ”the jury is corrup” etc etc.. those are opinions. Learn the difference.
Fredrik. The person who needs to grow up – and move on – is you. If you were so confident of Tattoo’s ‘amazing win’ you wouldn’t need to go around this whole message board and down vote/name call/abuse anyone who presents a different opinion. Even blind Freddie saw what happened. You abuse me, you abuse Vincenzo and a whole host of other people on the forum/thread – simply because you won’t accept an alternate point of view. I, like many others here are pointing out major flaws with the jury voting that occurred this year at the contest. This jury voting… Read more »
When you see a murder, do you stay silent or you go to the police and report about it, as a clever citizen? We just withnessed the murder of the correctness in Eurovision. A country who, for two times in a row, has used jures to win, undeservely, against the televote. Not for 1 point, but largely for a massive (and suspect) jury vote with some juries where ALL the voters has the same preference. Come on. We are not in front of a hit from Frank Sinatra or Luciano Pavarotti, but to a silly pop song, with a silly… Read more »
The “tools” above open your head, count your neurons and report the number of 3. You should be more worried about this then by the fact we write here.
Is this comment thread with now 3.7K postings a new wiwibloggs record?
Vincenzo and Greg have written 70% of the comments. Moaning and crying. Lol
Projecting much Fredrik?
You’re the one that is commenting left right and centre on any comment that question’s Sweden’s victory.
Greg, please. You and Vincenzo have been writing comments for weeks. Moaning and complaining..
Says the man who’s name is on every comment.
Shall we go back and look at the comments for 3-4 weeks back. Greg you and Vincenzo are this sites biggest drama queens.
At least are are queens, you are the buffoon at court.
Like I said, you need to stop projecting your own behaviour onto others.
Weeks? Have problem in counting? The final was the 13th, we are the 22nd. Only 9 days passed. So it’s a week, not even two. Bur of course you believe to be intelligent.
Vincenzo – ignore him.
I will follow your advice.
It’s been over a a week and still people are only talking about Kaarija even without him winning. I am glad he made lasting impact even without winning, he is honestly a role model to show winning is not the only thing that counts
There are many eurovision artists who have a strong legacy, even if they didn’t win the contest.
In the final there was 25 losers and 1 winner. The winner was SWEDEN.
She will be listed as the winner of ESC 2023 in the records. Juries made it so. My top placed is Finland and loser I have none. It is a great achievement to be selected and represent your country.
Actually televoters did. If they had not given Loreen that high amount of votes, Tattoo would not have won.
Fredrik – everyone, and I mean everyone – can see that the juries ensured Loreen’s victory by denying Finland and Norway their entitled jury votes.
288 jury points separated Sweden and Norway, but only 27 televotes separated them.
Now please tell me again how ‘Loreen won fair and square’. 🙂
She won the combined score. Even a simple mind like yourself should understand that. All competitors understand the rules. If you feel like a ”conspiracy” have happened, it actually only proves that you are a sore loser.
Loreen won. Get over it buddy
Sweden won and I totally respect that even though Loreen was not my favourite. But I think it is wise, Fredrik, to keep a bit lower profile. Alot of people are quite pissed of and you are only putting fuel to the fire, not doing Sweden or Loreen any good. There are bad losers but also bad winners and you don’t want Swedes to come across in that way 😉 Good luck in hosting next year!
Fredrik – the only small mind in this forum is your own.
Her totally biased and unrealistic jury vote (340 points) when combined with her realistic televote (243 points) gave her the win.
The numbers speak for themselves. 200 Nobodies denied Finland & Norway their rightful jury points to secure Loreen’s win.
Just accept the result dear. Your tears won´t change it.
Tony, you are right. Unfortunately, I – like the vast majority of fans out there – don’t have the power to reverse what has happened.
However, I choose not to remain silent on the injustice that has now occurred 4 times in as many years.
Change can only occur if we all speak up.
If we remain silent it means we condone what the juries are doing.
I think it´s so funny to read the crying fans´ comments. Last year fans were complaining that the public voted for Ukraine, and they were very happy with the juries, because they were fair. This year fans are complayning about the juries, because their favourite didn´t win. I think all the crying fans can see how pathetic that is. 😉
You took the words right out of my mouth. I understand being upset because your favorite didn’t win and I do agree that some kind of jury reform needs to happen, but this is just too much and too far. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail as we take a break from eurovision until the new season starts up again. On the bright side, at least the Swedes know how to put on a great show so we don’t have to worry about that.
Oh, yes. They are able to put on a great show, but that’s maybe the reason they want to win at all cost from time to time. Maybe they want to teach us they are so good. And for that the run over all the universal values of sportmanship, only the one who deserves win. Sincerely, I don’t care to see each N years how Sweden is good to put on a show. I would prefer to check if other countries that are able to put on, maybe, a better show. But, sometimes, Sweden made this not possible because they… Read more »
There is a big difference between crying and being pissed off that 200 biased nobodies had the power to overturn the will of millions of televoters. At the end of the day we all know who really won. Enjoy the ‘victory’.
Last year Ukraine won for the televotes. I am perfectly OK and happy Ukraine won. I was present as the first semifinal and the public started to shout at the unison each time they were appearing on stage, also, during the flags parade. Only a dumb or deaf wouldn’t have understood they were on the right path for a win. Of course the audience was made of mostly Italians so we are a sympathetic and generous people. We stand by the side of those in need. So I don’t care if some other favorite of your own didn’t win. Sorry for… Read more »
*LOL*
Go to top and read Norwegian Delegation’s take. I’m sure he is a ‘sore loser’ too.
Of course the Norwegian delegation did not like the jury this year. Lol
NO ONE – except Swedes & Loreen fans – agree with the totally biased jury voting this year. That’s the whole issue that everyone is up in arms about. D
I am very glad to see people in high positions standing up and finally calling a spade a spade. More Heads of Delegations need to follow in Stig’s steps.
What a ridiculous way to exercise your patriotism.
There were no losers. Only the ones who can´t accept the result
Like Greg. I agree.
Yes 😉
Oh Fredrik…look forward to seeing you in this forum in the future complaining why people aren’t televoting for Sweden.
Well said. That’s why people never televotes for Sweden. They have this arrogance of the winners, even when in the recent years they only won thanks to the juries. The shameful thing is that they know it perfectly, but still come here to rant and be so selfish to say all the other are looser and Loreen a winner. Loreen will never be a worldwide sensation as Måneskin. She is not innovative, her voice is not always pitch perfect and she was sometimes shouting during the finale. She has got 11 years to make herself successful, at least on the… Read more »
Unlike you Greg, who moans and complains right now.
When you see injustice you speak up. It’s very simple.
You really are pathetic. But really. Don’t know what kind of poor life you must have, but your nationalism, especially over a win on a song contest, gives me onlyy bad vibes. Sincerely, I’ve been in Sweden only once, but someone like you doesn’t give me ANY interest in visiting Sweden again. You can organize the Eurovision forever, but despite I follow it from 40 years, I will never come to see it in Sweden. You can be the best organizer in the world, but you lack the humanity of the merciful winner who doesn’t emarginate those who didn’t win.
You are no role model och good ambassador for Italy either. Are all Italians as self obsessed as you?
Sweden won. So happy! The best song and singer won. Sweden will be great hosts next year. Tattoo is already a hit song before ESC, far ahead of ”that song the fandom are obsessef about”.
Loreen is now a two time champion! Sweden once again proves that we are a leading music-nation.
Congratulations to Loreen! Our winner.
I totally agree with you.
And your messages proves you are a leading stupid and an a$$ hole.
Stay in Italy dear. And enjoy the weather.
This favoring of Sweden and its mediocre forgettable pop year by year is becoming really PATHETIC. I feel deeply sorry for some artists with way better songs…
Thank you for saying this, Boris. I couldn’t have said it better. And if they absolutely had to rig this year’s contest in favour of Sweden, they could at least have rigged it in a way that would make the voting suspenseful & fun to watch. I never liked ‘You’re stuck on me like a Toutou’, but that’s just my taste in music. Even when one is willing to admit it could indeed be the best song competing, it is also obvious it isn’t that much better than the rest of the competing songs. Thus, ‘Stuck like a toutou’ didn’t… Read more »
So it was rigged because your favourite did not win. LOL. Donald Trump would love you.
If you think Sweden had the best song, you have a serious lack of musical taste…. And musical education too….
Maybe you don´t know, that tastes are different. Accept the result. Acting like a little child won´t change it.
Oh yeah: “Tastes are different”…. Looks like you’re completely incapable to comprehend the point…
Sweden WON.. because Sweden was THE BEST. This according to the combined scores.
Only in your mind. Millions of us think otherwise.
Only in your mind dear. You have to accept the result. Acting pathetic won´t change it. 😉
Fredrik…is that you under a new alias??
Accept the result. Your tears won´t change it,
Tomi, they could not control the televotes when it was clear Finland had the televote it in the bag and that Norway & Sweden would be battling it out for second place. Remember only 27 points separated Loreen & Alessandra in teh televotes. 288 points separated them in the jury votes. That number says everything.
Eliminating both Norway & Finland in the jury votes was the only way. But told tell Fredrik/Tony that…
The only thing that is pathetic are the fans who can´t accept the rules and the fact, that Sweden won. Käärija is very very happy with his 2nd place, and so should the crying fans be too.
Boris, you are mediocre
I am eagerly awaiting an announcement about the participation of Australia next year. Australia’s broadcaster wants to take part and pay the participation fee.
EBU please make a statement soon, yes or no.
2023 was supposed to be the last year of cooperation between SBS and EBU? I really hope Australia will be there next year because I often love what the artists bring to Eurovision and Voyager were phenomenal this year. They were my 5th place after the show.
Yes, the previous agreement ended. This was possibly our last entry.
Voyager was top five for many, judging by reaction videos. Because lots of fans realised that there was undue influence to push Sweden to host next ESC most of Australia’s televotes went to Finland.
Looking at people in the comments fight over if Loreen deserves to win or not is hilarious ?. Popcorn anyone? ?
any new news? it would be nice to get off the topic of whether or not Loreen deserved to win or not
*lol* No matter who wins, there will always be fans complaining.
You guys should check out Kaarija’s other songs. He is an AMAZING rapper and deserves recognition to the other songs!
He is a happy bundle of energy but in particular with rap, if you have no idea what it is about, it’s just noise. With ‘Cha, cha, cha’ we could easily find the translation and identify with it. The Finnish language has a good vibe to my ears.
Käärijä can hardly be called a singer. And rap? Please LOL. Stop calling that seal a rapper.
Still that Seal eat Loreen Two times alive in a eys of the public :):). How humilating that must be Loreen with her Millions paid show and Eurovision status not able to get puplic vote win. Not even Swedens major ritch music machine, was able to guarantee a win. How epic faill to Sweden
Well, I have listened to his discography and certainly found his other songs fun!
year. The BBC must have done something different as every performance seemed ultra HD, amazingly crisp. The blacks were true blacks and not muddled grey/blacks. Not sure how they did it but it’s amazing if you compare the quality of the performances on YouTube compared to either last year or the year before. Kudos to the BBC, even though the sound was a bit off they pulled it out of the bag!
Oops this is missing * Just want to mention something about the production this*^
Maybe HDR?
Additionally the lyrics of Tattoo! Wow, what a deep meaning. The same standard boring love song. Nothing original. Nothing extraordinary.
Like question: Did you like Satellite?
*”little” instead of “like”
Yes, but I was not crazy of Lena.
satellite was a “standard love song”. the lyrics were nothing special. this argument is non-sense.
I start to think the Psychopath the Croatians were singing about, was not Putin, but Fredrik from Sweden.
Awww Vincenzo throwing yet another tantrum. What a surprise.
You can shout to the moon the times you want, but there are a lot of people all over Europe (and beyond) who considered the victory of Loreen as staged. I do also have suspects that the introduction of “the rest of the world” televote has been introduced for benefit of Loreen, so that Americans could join it to vote for her.
You can scream all you like, Sweden won. Sadly you are an obvious sore loser
No they didn’t, not technically.
explain what you mean with “technically”. technically, the person with the highest total wins. believe it or not, but her name was loreen and now käärijä. she score 583, not 526
Oh so bitter and jealous you are.
I guess the only sore thing here is your brain. You should listen more to innovative music from other countries, not the lament songs from Loreen or the fake plastic swedish pop. Look at how much diversity other countries brought to Eurovision while Sweden constantly brings the same genre.
And with succes
And last year most people voted for Ukraine, and all the fans were complaining. This year the same fans are complaining again, just because their favourite didn´t win. That´s so pathetic, we can only laugh.
Osterdahl!
Of course. He’s there to rig the thing in favour of Sweden.
*LOL*
Seriously. You don’t accept Sweden as winner (deal with it). But don’t insult people with different opinions, that’s childish.
:::, the juries voted massively Loreen. The televoters voted massively Kaarja. As I am a democratic, I prefer to consider more the vote of people.
That doesn’t change the fact that calling others psychopath is childish
Look at what he wrote all over.
Do you remember who the public voted massively for, last year and in 2019. Sometimes juryfavourite win. Sometimes public favourite win. Sometimes your favourite doesn´t win, abnd you just have to accept it. Your anger and tears and childish behaviour won´t change it.
Oh so bitter you are 😉
Why do Italy insist on bringing back old singers who did not even win the first time. Like Marco Mengoni. He has the personality of paint that are drying on stage. Come on!
Because Italy doesn’t profits of the rigged juries and a friendly Executive Supervisor like Sweden.
Doesn’t change the fact that Italy insist on sending wooden boring singers like Mengoni.
The wooden boring singer has an incredible voice and can sing many genres. He is not like Loreen who can sing always the same $h it
But only the stupids who don’t know music and voice performance don’t understand it.
The only stupid here is you my dear. Acting so childish like you do is really pathetic, but I guess you can´t understand it. That is your excuse. And that´s why we all forgive you. You are, of course, not obligated beyond your abilities.
Are you really trying to call Mengoni boring?? Let’s just agree to disagree.
Just curious – would an LED TV above his head have enhanced his performance for you?
I found that Marco actually had personality but o would have loved to see Mr Rain, Madame or Lazza on the main stage.
I thought his performance was one of the best of the night. The song was decent but he really lifted it to top 5 territory
All those who criticize Marco Mengoni should see his performance with Let It Be. He was applauded and cheered by the famous Kingdom Choir at the end. He can sing even gospel.
Agree Patrick. His song was my #3 on Grand Final night.
You don’t even know him. He is actually very funny, very emotional. A Swede, with the heart of Ice, criticizes Mengoni who can transmit millions of emotions when he sings. Without props or LED screens. You definitely understand music as what understand a pig talking to the phone.
Watch this reaction of a vocal coach to the singing of Marco Mengoni. You will understand a thing or two on who was the best singer in Liverpool. Surely not Loreen.
Marco Mengoni the wood stick figure. Lol
Fredrik – not sure if you’re trolling or you really believe that.
All I will say is let’s agree to disagree. I can guarantee you that I can listen to Marco for hours – he has an amazing voice. I would be lucky to last 20 minutes listening to Loreen.
But like I said – we will agree to disagree…clearly, we each have different taste.
Because Italy sends the winner of the San Remo Song Festival – an Italian competition with Italian artists 🙂
For example, Mahmood won the San Remo Festival twice in last few years (Soldi & Brividi) therefore came to ESC twice in as many years.
The issue is not that artists come back again, and that includes Loreen. The issue is juries being biased towards particular countries. Please stop trying to muddy the waters.
Donald Trump would love you. You are an ”opinion jumper”, you jump from one to another to fit your agenda.
Sweden won. Get over it.
Not sure where the Trump reference comes from, as I’m not American.
As for my opinion – yes I have an opinion and I am articulating my opinion and presenting my case with facts.
All you seem to do throughout this thread is abuse people, repeat ad nauseum the same tripe, and then attack/name call people like me who put forward a different point of view to yours.
Your ”facts” are… Sweden won. I don’t like it. Booohoo
The facts are 200 nobodies super pumped-up Loreen’s jury votes to ensure victory. The numbers don’t lie.
Those ”nobodies” are all music professionals.
You keep telling yourself that. There was nothing ‘professional’ about those jurors this year.
Käärijäs fans needs to see reality. Loreens song had performed much better in the music charts than Cha Cha Cha… even before ESC. Not saying Käärijäs song is bad though.
Wow. I complain I write too many comments but you start a new thread each time of as$ licking of Loreen. Dl at least the swedish music industry pays you? A young Swede (at least I suppose you are a young swedish psychopath) doesn’t have more important things to do in life? You won, what the hell. Leave the other comment the way they wont. Nobody will ever take away your stolen victory.
Vincenzo, you need PTSD therapy. ASAP.
Ahaha. You are funny! But still defending a rigged jury. We will see. I have time to dedicate to pis$$ on your head. We will see who gets tired first.
Loreen won. And you believe conspiracies and rigged voting. Does the foil hat fit your head? Lol
You can repeat as many times that you won that Loreen won. That doesn’t change the picture she tricked, or someone on her behalf tricked this year’s contest.
I’m hoping for a bit of karma in 2024…very low televote points from the general public 🙂
…and lot’s of points to Finland and Ireland…. let’s help Ireland land one more win :)….Johnny Logan anyone? Let him go for the hat-trick 🙂
That’s usually the case anyway though, isn’t it? Portugal who won in 2017 ended up last place the next year. The host country’s song is usually worse than the winning song from last year, but also the people generally don’t feel the need to let the same country win two years in a row.
I guess what I’m wondering is whether the low televotes for Sweden extend beyond the 2024 ESC.
Är du svensk? Det är lite pinsamt det du håller på med.
Google Translate: Are you Swedish? It’s a bit embarrassing what you’re doing.
Couldn’t have said it better Helene. Fredrik is really not presenting Swedes in a good light 🙁
And you are a good representation…. Of simple minds.
Thanks for your compliment xx
Just an FYI though – unlike you, I don’t need to abuse or name call anyone, I just present facts.
You, on the other hand, resort to name calling everyone on this thread like a 5-year-old school kid because you cannot counter the facts presented by those with a different view to yours.
I dont think he is Swedish only trying to make Sweden look bad. A troll.
You’re probably correct Helene. I have no beef with Sweden or Swedish people. I’ve been twice and love the country.
My objection is what the juries did last week – and have done so many times over the past few years.
“Tattoo” literally profits off of it being a 2nd Loreen Eurovision song. It even has a similar melody. If Loreen was t the singer a lot of hype would be gone. I don’t see a lot of love for Mika’s Ukrainian sing that has the same melody either! Cha Cha Cha is any a newcomer most have never heard before and is original.
Its original alright. At a kids party for a 3 year old. (Simple minds)
Thenew generation is trying to destroy Eurovision. The ”mean jury”. The ”conspiracy”. Etc etc…. Mini-Trumps are throwing accusations around… and when you ask for evidence, you get the usual ”well, well…, eeeh I don’t like Loreen”. ”Eeh eeeh,.. Loreen is old.. she already won…”
The spoiled generation that can not handle reality
We are the future. The juries are spoilt being a minority that decides for a majority.
The jury groups will remain. Otherwise we will see people dressed up as pirates or trolls winning. Or a finnish guy wearing green leather winning.
Or we will see LED screens hanging from the ceiling cover up the vocal defects spotted by many vocal coaches.
Of course Jury must remain for a Swede. Because you know that televotes will never allow you to win anymore, after you stole most of your wins thanks to the juries.
The theme for this year was ‘United by music’ and I think of those would have United the audience better than what actually won…
That Finnish guy entertained us, and we sent him lots of love and second highest televote points ever.
I think after the trainwreck of last week, and the public backlash since the jury days are numbered. EBU is in damage control 🙂
Yep 200 nobodies brooding over Sweden & Australia in every competition and lavishing them with massive jury votes. I sense the juror’s days are numbered…let’s see how much of their wings get clipped or whether we just get rid of them.
Fredrik – you totally represent this new generation that throws tantrums and tries to shut down anyone who they don’t agree with. I used to look forward to watching every single contest since then, but not as enthusiastically since 2015 when the juries destroyed what I consider one of the best songs to… Read more »
Hey Greg, it’s a please to read you. We “old folks” have the history of this competition in the veins. We know everything that happened throughout the years. Those “new”fans of the social media era, like the narrow minded Swede who writes here (I don’t mention him because I am sure he can recognize himself as narrow minded) don’t have any musical culture, any musical knowledge, only know one genre of music (the plastic pop of today, like Loreen, BTS & C). They don’t care about quality and vote like they do on the pictures on Instagram or the videos… Read more »
100% Vincenzo.
It’s ironic, but these vocal ‘Loreen fans’ do not understand that this complete jury bias towards specific countries is actually destroying the contest, and even worse it’s changing the way people are starting to view Swedish entries.
I can already see Fredrik complaining in a few years’ time ‘why no one is voting for Sweden’.
Greg, you are making things up in your head. Quite interesting to witness.
The woke generation is trying to destroy Eurovision. The ”mean jury”. The ”conspiracy”. Etc etc…. Mini-Trumps are throwing accusations around… and when you ask for evidence, you get the usual ”well, well…, eeeh I don’t like Loreen”. ”Eeh eeeh,.. Loreen is old.. she already won…”
The spoiled generation that can not handle reality
The juries are the wine ones!
Fredrik – you described yourself so well.
185 people behind closed doors decided the winner the day before the final was even broadcast. Overruling millions who voted across Europe, Australia and The rest of the world (at their own expense.) The organisers could teach despots a thing or two about election rigging.
I guess Martin Osterdahl has used the same tricks Erdogan will use to win the election.
I guess you don’t understand how ESC works. You can stay in the sandbox
Swedes, what ’bout Tobbe Ek calling Finland “A stupid nation” for not giving Loreen the 12 points and saying fuucc them on air?
What a sportmanship! 🙂
Vincenzo, you need therapy! And a walk in the sun.
Just go and read all the comments there. Strange that you are not there, too. On your crusade to defend the indefensible.
I just think it is funny to trigger a conspiracy theorist.
I don’t need to defend reality.
You’re an imaginary character on a made up website. You have nothing to do with reality.
At least I hope he is paid by SVT, the producers of Loreen or the music producers of Sweden who need to win the ESC from time to time because they are not able to win anything else. So they have to rig the juries of a boring song contest in order to get the rewards they believe to deserve.
Concerning the sun, probably you are also ignorant on latitudes, longitudes, etc. At Italy’s latitude we have the sun potentially 365 days per year. That’s we don’t care much of Eurovision like you do. We have other outdoors things to do, while you are closed in arenas or home all winter.
Vicenzo, the mindless fool.
Not just “a stupid nation” – the swedish media stated that finns are “our east half” and that “sometimes europeans have no taste in music”. Those are direct quotes.
For me it’s not even about EBU’s shadiness anymore, the swedish arrogance and racism is completely tone-deaf and off the roof. How can anyone enjoy ESC next year when host nation would say colonialistic bullsh*t like this?
Sweden won, what more they want? Oh that’s right – their former colony to bow down and be a nice little serf who gives ESC points, no matter what.
Here is a friendly reminder that the jury put Tusse in 17th position back in 2021.
By the way, let’s try something entirely off topic. Can we get this comment to be the most disliked comment on wiwibloggs? Come on, I want to see at least a -340.
Greetings,
the girl with the three colon marks.
I wanted to downvote you, but I upvoted because I never do what others tell me to do.
That’s actually not good because never doing what others tell you is actually never a good thing I guess
are they still going to have an awards show for Eurovision like they did a few years ago? I remember there was an award called something like “most likely to become a major international star”. that was a bit cringe
Official are only the Marcel Bezençon Awards
Then, there is the OGAE voting, the Reddit poll and You’re a Vision (for the best dress)
Furthermore, there are plenty of fan awards

Please watch this and follow the example of a wise and admirable man.

Of course he cannot go in an interview and say Loreen was helped by the Juries. He still is a neighbour of Sweden and his song is first in the charts. But when he says thing with juries and televote must change he admits the victory of Loreen is undeserved. So he betrayed his words with that sentence.
Loreen could say in an interview then that Käärijä was ”helped by the televoters”. And that he won the televoting because of a flashy performance.
Your rationales are flawed
For your info, the televoters are those who actually buy music and download songs, or buys CDs. Sweden always need the helping hand of the juries. But this time they need a very big helping hand, because the standard one was not enough.
Käärijäs song has not performed as well with those parameters as Tattoo. This is what happens when people vote for flashy performances instead of the best song. Luckily the jury voted her number one. Plus second by the televoters with a high score.
Tattoo has more dislikes on the music video, more in terms of the ration whilst Cha Cha Cha is rapidly gaining more and more views and likes every day.
Sweden delivers great music every year for ESC. Loreen is an amazing winner
Yes. Sweden delivers great music every year.
Yes Loreen is a great singer
No – Loreen is not an amazing winner. The amazing winner is Kaarija.
Greg the moaning baby
Hugs and kisses xx
Love it when presenting facts is now called ‘moaning baby’ 🙂
He said I am a moaning baby/man. Well, with all our moans he should be fed up, but he is always here. I am sure je likes is. There is a syndrome known as Stockholm Syndrome. I believe he has it.
LOL yea.
I just love how defensive they all get when you present them with facts 🙂
Do you repeat it to yourself and to us just to convince yourself more? You can repeat it in front of the mirror, or on the couch of your psychiatrist (if you don’t have one, get it, you will feel better after). But, please, don’t engage us in your mental problems. We don’t need to read from you the same sentence all along. Thank you. Yes. We know, you consider Sweden as deserved winner. We don’t. Time go get along with it.
Sweden IS the winner. And YOU are the one writing 10+ comments every day trying to covince yourself that Finlands weird song won. Lol
And think that I didn’t even like Finnish song. I am into quality, not into one time wonders. So for me this time was the time of Spain, France or even Italy, again. But I put Italy at the last place or everybody will say “Ok, he is Italian and wants Italy to win again”.
Some comments here are hilarious…
Well, you could at least post an hilarious comment too. You are reading ilarious comments for free and you don’t even engage to exchange a little bit.
We are still weeping and whinging lol
Eurofandome became so toxic recently
Also bringing an already winning singer is toxic for a true but not sportive competition.
Italy brough back Mengoni this year… the wooden man without personality
At least he is able go sing perfectly in all the rehersals and finals. Go see if Loreen was able to sing well or not.
This will be my last comment on this article (I hope). I understand the disappointment of people and the feeling that juries “stole” the victory from Finland (but I still think the contest wasn’t rigged). We nearly all agree on the fact that the difference between 1st and 2nd place from juries points was too much and a bit difficult to believe. That being said, I think Sweden still deserves the victory and here is why. I think it’s normal that Sweden won the jury vote but I think she should have had less points (between 280 and 300). I… Read more »
PS: once again, I was rooting for Sweden and Finland. I didn’t care who was about to become the winner. I just don’t like how some fans behave since the end of the contest.
What we want from jurors is that they evaluate the entries individually, without communicating with other jurors and disregard charts, betting odds, politics, neighbour countries or ethnic closeness.
Just evaluate honestly for its craft and execution. I like jury 40% public 60%.
The public votes heavily for memes and gimmicks in general, so the jury should continue having 50% of the vote, it’s the only compromise currently.
MoGu you hit the nail on the head.
The jurors need to stop being blinkered and start doing their job correctly.
They need to start Voting for songs, not countries.
My personal view after this year’s fiasco is that juries must go.
Diaspora voting never created this much of a mess. For the most part 100% televoting gave us some of the best ESC winners.
Juries are becoming more open to songs in languages other than English and to “ethnic” songs (Ukraine 2021, Spain 2023). I hope that trend will continue. I’m also glad that Finland got a couple of 12s from the juries. In 2019 Norway won the televote but they didn’t get a single 12 from juries. One thing I dislike about the new way of presenting the results is that the jury vote occupies much more airtime than the televote. In 2019 again, we saw Sweden and North Macedonia getting jury 12s many times but we never saw Norway even though at… Read more »
