Eurovision national finals are a tough game. Only one act can win each country’s selection, often leaving many great songs behind. But some of these fallen favourites are given a new chance at victory each year in the OGAE Second Chance Contest.

With this year’s entries now chosen, various OGAE fan clubs around Europe (and the rest of the world) are now deciding their top favourite of the national final acts who didn’t win the ticket to Eurovision.

But before the official result is revealed, we want to hear from you. Check out the competing entries for this year’s contest and then let us know who you think should win.

Scroll down to vote in the poll

OGAE Second Chance Contest 2023

This year’s edition of the “visual event” is hosted by OGAE Sweden, after Medina won the 2022 vote with “In I Dimman”.

OGAE clubs whose broadcaster selected their Eurovision entry using a national final were eligible to nominate one non-winning song as their entry for the Second Chance Contest. OGAE Rest of the World, comprised of fans from country’s who don’t have individual OGAE clubs, selected their entry from the Moldovan and Sammarinese selections.

Competing acts

Poll: Who should win the OGAE Second Chance Contest 2023?

You can vote for as many of the contestants as you want. But remember that you can only vote once – so choose wisely!

Who did you vote for? Are you surprised by any of the clubs’ choices? Which songs would you have submitted? Let us know in the comments.

Most of the hate for Blanka stems from sexism. A lot of people just do not like seeing women succeed . No matter what she does she will be put down and called not good enough, because she is a woman. Blanka is a queen. A model, actress, dancer, singer! She does a lot of things and works really hard. Jann could not even sing his own song and flopped like an fish around the stage and moaned and groaned for 3 minutes straight . Everyone calls him great for it but in my opinion it was just plain offensive and… Read more »

You must be really delulu. People don’t support Blanka because they hate nepotism and corruption. This girl can’t sing,is stiff as a metal pole and she’s lacking a charisma. She’s lucky that Eurovision allows backing vocals, otherwise she would made fool out of herselfd just like she did on preselections.

While I think Jann was poor vocally (on the same level as Bejba), and many may disagree with me, I don’t think sexual orientation has anything to do with it. You either have to live peacefully with gays, black people, and fat people around you (the three main groups homo sovieticus is attacking), or else you’ll have to disconnect yourself from the Internet because nobody in the West will understand your persecution of people based on their congenital traits.

I kinda agree. Live performance was a bit of a mess. I’m sure, if he would’ve qualified, they would sort ir out

The song is good….other things i’m not sure. He probably would have improved for Eurovision.

Blanca was iconic in all the wrong ways. After that performance nobody is ever allowed to say that the song or artist weren’t good enough. I was amazed and she and the Polish delegation should get all the love.

Estonia, Finland, Italy, and Albania have the best candidates IMHO! Four absolute gems. I also understand the wish for Poland to win this, due to circumstances. Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Czechia, and Ireland also have good songs. Iceland and Romania are the opposite, as they’d be my certain bottom 2 if they had been chosen for ESC instead of the actual entries.

Nicklas Sonne – Freedom deserved the second chance over “i was gonna merry him”
Was the best performance on the night
And was the televote winner

Also “lige her” with Søren Torpegaard Lund was the most beautiful moment
Vocals was right on point

I was gonna merry him was a fan favorite before the show but honestly did not live up to the hype
Not the best vocals and staging was weird/kinda creepy
I wouldve given one of the other 2 songs a second chance

I liked Micky Skeel aswell but understand why its not on the list

Agreed! Was expecting Nicklas or Riley to easily win it anyway!
