Eurovision 2023 has come and gone. And that means that Alexandro Kröger — the creative behind the LEGO: Eurovision channel — has been extra busy.

Alexandro has been painstakingly producing LEGO versions of previous editions of Eurovision for several years. He consistently wows us with his attention to detail — from the stage to the artists’ costumes to amusing moments from the live shows.

This year is no different. His nine-minute video gives a speedy and concise overview of the entire programme — from the flag parade through to the 26 grand final performances to the voting segment to Sweden’s Loreen collecting her trophy (giant finger nails and all).

We also love Blanka’s fire transitions, La Zarra rising into the air, Käärijä shouting, “It’s crazy, it’s party” at the end of his performance and those Croatian underpants during Let 3’s performance. Naturally I’m living for the cameo Alexandro gave to my book Wild Dances when Martin Osterdahl confirms the vote is valid. Thank you!

We had a quick catch-up with Alexandro on Facebook Messenger:

So what was the most time-consuming element?

“The stage,” Alexandro tells me. “I started to build it in February and it was finished on the day of the Grand Final. It took most of my free-time during that period. A huge shout out to Julio, this year’s designer, who was a great support in all of this! He’s such a sweet person!”

Is there a recreation that you’re particularly proud of?

“I’m most happy with the Swedish act. It was really hard to create all elements there.”

And who was one of the other difficult acts to re-create?

“Finland was hard, since the act was many small acts in one. It was such a fantastic act! I hope to see more performances like this in the future.”

You’re very detail-oriented. How much total time did you spend on this?

“Most of my free time was spent on this year’s show. I do have a life as well [laughs]. But this year turned out to be a struggle in many ways, so I put all my energy to this project. I can’t wait for Malmö!!!”

What are your favourite moments in the video? Be sure and send Alexandro some love in the comments section below and in his video!

I always love seeing the Lego Eurovision videos! I jump on Youtube and watch them as soon as they come out. The attention to detail blows me away, and I love the little funny moments. Definitely A+++ every time. Sure, this year’s result was controversial, but he even made reference to that in a diplomatic and cute way. Love it.

Good to see you’re promoting this. Each year he always makes one.
