Festivali i Këngës winners Elsa Lila and Kejsi Tola are among the 31 acts confirmed for FiK 62 — Albania’s national selection for Eurovision 2024.

Broadcaster RTSH shared the full list on Tuesday.

Elsa, who won last year’s festival, will sing a song called “Mars” (March). Many fans think the song will speak to her arrest in Italy in March 2022.

She was held under suspicion of criminal activities related to narcotics, but the charges were later dropped. Her perseverance and anger could make for another truly emotional entry.

Meanwhile Kejsi, who participated at Eurovision 2009 in Moscow, will sing “Vallezoj me Dritën” (Dance with the Light). She did that herself with singing her Eurovision banger “Carry Me In Your Dreams,” which placed 17th at Eurovision.

Songs will NOT be published prior to the shows. You’ll get to experience the magic live alongside Albanian viewers this December.

Lack of Ronela shocking. But hopefully that means internal selection in San Marino!

Why is no one mentioning Besa Kokëdhima, the real star of Festivali I Kënges this year!

What a line-up!

Elsa Lila, Tiri Gjoci, Anduel Kovaci, Festina Mejzini, Kastro Zizo, Eldis Arrnjeti, and of course, the return of Kejsi Tola!

All of them can bring good songs, so I hope that at least some of them will. Hopefully all of them. Looking forward to this happy FiK-mas!

Too bad we won’t get to hear the songs prior to the contest.. I was hoping to get into the spirit of the season early on but I get their point.. Will root for certain artists once I hear the songs in December.

The Albanian language is *fascinating* to read and try to understand *something*.

Will it be two separate votes again? One to find the winner, the other to find the Eurovision entry. I hope not. I hated that.

Separate votes may explain why the songs won’t be released before FiK. Or they just may want the audience be interested and tune in during the show.
Two winners is confusing. Like there are two winners but one is better and goes further to represent the country. I hate that too.

Elsa was the actual winner last year, and ordinarily would have gone on to Liverpool. I wonder if the lingering sentiment of unfairness will benefit her chances this year.

Winner will be announced with 50-50% public and jury. There will be no separation like last year.

Thank you! That’s good news.

Well, that’s where they wanted to go, but ultimately they decided to go with the same voting structure as last year. This year FIK has 11 juries that will vote for the FIK winner, but the public will still decide who takes represent Albania in Eurovision 2024.

Elsa is Eurovision-wise top 5 material is she has a song at least as competitive as Evita.

That would bring them Alika’s result at best.

Does anyone know if the songs will be released before the contest, as it used to be, or if it’ll be like last year where we didn’t hear them until the shows themselves. Personally, I’d much prefer the former.

I wonder why they’ve changed that. Is it so people don’t get attached to certain songs and thereby lessen bias?

They are trying to make it more and more like Sanremo every year, I think that’s all it is.

That’s not true. FIK is the oldest music festival in Albania. They just want to embrace the tradition of Festivali i Kenges and want to not announce the songs before the show as they have done the last 40 years before they chose Festivali i Kenges for the process to choose who will go to Eurovision for Albania.

Tbh I don’t like this. It makes sense tho, since this is a festival and there is live orchestra, it makes sense we hear the songs for a first time when performed live, but we can’t really see if the song is good for Eurovision from live performance by orchestra. Some songs sound very different when performed by orchestra, some sound better and some sound worse…

Yeah, but don’t forget the primary goal here is to find the winner of FiK, not what’s good for a totally different contest.

And FIK had existed long before Albania started participating at Eurovision
