He’s the Australian-born star who gave Cyprus its best Eurovision result since Eleni Foureira. And now “Can’t Break a Broken Heart” hitmaker  Andrew Lambrou is back with a new an uptempo song that’s sure to take your breath away.

Which is just one reason it’s called “Take My Breath Away.” Andrew co-wrote the pop number with Cameron Robertson.

“I’m so extremely excited and proud that my new track is finally seeing the light of day,” Andrew says. “We’ve been working with Cameron Robertson on this for the last couple of months and actually it’s really surreal to me that finally I’m sharing it with my audience. Thank you for your patience. I hope it takes your breath away and be prepared ‘cause this is just the beginning”.

And we’ve got great news: You can watch the music video exclusively below until its release on the Panik Records YouTube channel tomorrow.

Andrew Lambrou releases “Take My Breath Away” music video

The Panik Records/City Pop release comes with an intense and highly artistic music video, directed and recorded in Athens by Ntanis Ntarlas.

Andrew sings against dark and light backgrounds, which convey ying and yang, and wears high fashion clothes designed by DANTE, who was also in charge of his Eurovision outfits.

Andrew, holding an umbrella, deals with the storm of his love interest. His desire leaves him feeling tormented and craving more. We never get a clear view of his lover’s face. We do, however, see her (or at least the memory of her) dancing and throwing shapes as he thinks of how she takes his breath away (an idea made literal when he has plastic wrapped around his face).

“Take My Breath Away” is his follow-up to the hit single “Break A Broken Heart”, with which Andrew placed 12th at Eurovision 2023. The song has amassed more than 13 million streams on Spotify and Andrew has passed 220,000 monthly listeners on the platform.

Bravo, congrats on a great record. Crunchy B minor harmony going on. Driving and pumping riffs. With the vocal effect, I can hear parallel 4ths in the Chorus, yaaas! And Andrew gets to do some vocal runs at the end; they’re all well within his range thanks to this lower B minor key (compared to “Break a Broken Heart,” which was crazy high in E-flat minor!). All sounds good to me.
