Poll: Who should win Eesti Laul 2024?
So who did you vote for?
Sofia Rubina, her song’s a banger and I’m a sucker for underdogs!
The is no 5minnust,
5MIINUST IS CORRECT!
5 MIINUST & Puuluup, Ollie, Cecilia, Peter Poder, and Multikas & Ewert Sundja are my top 5. Antud is cool too!
im so annoyed that you cannot get simple double letters correct! 5 MIINUST. it´s like as if I wrote comment with one m
folks, the olliemania ist over – there is a new bitch in town named talharpa. talharpa is this weird cello instrument in the song – it makes the song so unique, catchy ect. this song is a real banger and it is also different to the käärijäsound. all other options would be a joke if the maingoal here is the best possible place in malmo for estonia! the biggest danger could be the semi where only 5 from 15 songs can make the cut and both favorites are in it – very weird modus! maybe ollie will not make the cut or… Read more »
Ollie absolutelty stands out. Last year he gave us the “you are the venom in my veins” as a statement but this year he is giving us “will you be there” as of a question and uncertainty and it is definitely a really powerful, meaningful and for some even touching lyrics. I do not think these songs are similar and can not be compared in any way besides the fact that they are both rock songs which btw would be great to hear from Estonia.
FOMO or Wunderbar! I hope Cecilia will be the one for Estonia. Her entry will stand out for sure! Time for a rave at Eurovision! ?
5miinnust & Puuluup bring the “unique and different” to this NF, people sleep on them and I wish they surprise us all. Their song is the one who has the biggest number of Spotify streams and YouTube views, which means Estonians adore it.
I also hope the best for Ewert, indie deserves respect and I believe an indie act will win ESC sooner or later.
This Puuluup song. Why is there so much love around that song. Like it’s horrible for my ears. I understand everyone has its own taste but how is that song even in discussion to be good. It will never win Eurovision, right?
I suppose wishing for two piano ballads for two years in a row is out of the question? 😀
I actually haven’t had time to listen to all the songs yet, so no opinions from me at this stage. Great to see Ollie has a following though.
I get the feeling people are just voting for Ollie because of name recognition and they preffered his song last year. His current entry is really not as good or competitive.
I don’t want to be a contrarian or anything, but I am quite the opposite on this. Last year, I thought Ollie was quite overhyped, but this year he deserves the hype he gets in my opinions. The production, sound and lyrics of My Friend is so much better than Venom.
Ollie is my personal 3rd, I prefer Multikas & Ewert Sundja and Brother Apollo, but I would be very happy if Ollie ends up representing Estonia.
1, Ollie!
Definitely either “(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi” or “oblivion” – I was considering “Koora Veel” but then I came to the unfortunate realisation that it’s very much “we have Hoida Mut at home”…
it is KORRA veel.
As for me, Ollie is the best here. Hands down. On the one hand, the song itself is very powerful and emotional. On another, Ollie finished 2nd on Eesti Laul 2023, and it would be be great if he won now.
Ollie is the big standout in this selection, and I hope he wins this time. Other really good options are 5miinnust & Puuluup, Ingmar, Peter Poder, and Daniel Levi. Overall, it’s a really pleasant group of songs.
Ollie’s song gives off linkin park vibes which i can see why some people think it’s a little dated but i really love it
I think there’s a lot of good options (like FOMO and Over the Moon) but I think Ollie is the standout.
I like how Eesti Laul has some indie and modern vibes. Sure there are some old-fashioned songs but there has to be one for everyone. I don’t really think this year is as bad as some point out. I do think there isn’t a Eurovision winner here at first listen. There are a couple of songs that could qualify but Eesti Laul is more than finding a song that would qualify. There are plenty of song we would listen everyday and won’t qualify. Having said that, I wonder why some finalists where chosen over the semfinalists. One would say Ollie… Read more »
I think it’ll all depend on the live performance if they’ve got a Eurovision winner. Ollie could very well be it! Though I’m rooting personally for Cecilia whose song stands out the most on first listen to me. In addition to never sending a rock song, Estonia have never sent such a dark EDM synth song like that!
I like Oblivion. It’s interesting. No Dog On A Leash is quite unique too! 5MINNUST & PUULUUP is growing on me. Wunderbar is a guilty pleasure. I don’t get the My Friend hype but I guess it’s ok? I mean it’s not a bad song, but I don’t think it’s anything special either.
I loved Ollie’s song last year, but this year it leaves me a little cold. I may have to listen to it again. But the one who completely surprised me was Peter Põder – “Korra veel”. Really powerful, I would like to hear it live.
Also..am I the only one who thinks this year’s semi-final songs are really good? I am extremely critical every year, but this year I am positively surprised.
Agree.
Also “Korra Veel” is the only song I wanted to listen to more than once. Hope it sounds good live.
Ingmar is so skipped by the fandom, so beautiful song
Cringe at best.
How is it cringe??? It’s relatable and inspiring, with quality vocals.
My 4th. I am a sucker for Broadway ballads that go big, when done right. This one is really sweet, and the lyrics, while a bit cheesy perhaps, are quite charming and inspirational.
My top five all happen to be in Estonian this year: Antsud, Nele-Liis Vaiksoo, Peter Põder, Anet Vaikmaa, and 5MINNUST & Puuluup. Maybe the lowered fees for entries in Estonian helped. “Oblivion” and “FOMO” are good too.
MIINUST
I genuinely believe 5miinust and puuluup would get a top 5 televote score with the right staging at the real contest and come top 10 off that alone.
This really could happen.
Yeah with a good live show they have the most potential. With a televote only semis they are also a very safe Q.
Funny to see that everytime there’s a very quirky entry competing in a national final the eurofans can’t help but instantly develop an attraction to it., really everytime. This kind of entry is not something that will change the reputation of Eurovision in the eyes of the general public unfortunately, it’s only my opinion, everyone has the right to like what they want.
Dreaming and Over the moon really pull at my heart strings and those are my absolute favorites but I loved Venom last year and would love for Ollie to get his chance to go this year.
Brother Apollo or Daniel Levi are the best options. Ollie and Ingmar would be good too.
Please Is There No Good Music In Estonia
Says the Bejba stan
There are other songs I like but Ollie is an obvious answer as Tattoo was in Sweden last year. Don’t overthink this.
Tattoo was great at what it supposed to be a perfect pop song. On the other hand ollie’s song … is mediocre at best. Is he going to win sure but will it do better than Alika most likely no, maybe 16-12 place and I’m being optimistic.
I prefer Venom to My Friend, but I think this is the best song for Eesti Laul 2024 (there are a couple more that I like though). Luckily, I have not lost a friend, but the lyrics really touched me. If I had the chance, I would vote for it.
Sorry but I don’t get the obsession for Ollie. “My friend” is Venom 2.0.
People loved Venom, so why not give them more of what they want?
Puuluup&5MIINUST
I don’t like the song, but ollie is probably the one that can get the best result in malmo
Cecilia deserves a shot. Her songs stands out and really pops and if she songs well and the staging is good, instant top 10 in Malmo! Nothing like Estonia have ever sent!
Ollie is a clear second though!
Ollie is in another level, at least to me. Hope he wins!
As long as it’s a song in Estonian I’m okay with it. Stop picking English songs, people ffs!!
Uff.. Only 5 out of 15 semi-finalists will go through. There will be lots of dissapointed fans.
Yes, we all remember Malta….
Ewert with “Oblivion” for me.
Other nice choices: Daniel Levi and Traffic. Maybe even 5Miinust. Estonia has options. Ingmar is nice too. But, sweetheart, you’re 20 and you start your self-penned song with the line “when I was young”. Exactly how young do you wanna be and how exactly is 20 anything but young?
Two clear options – Ollie and 5MINNUST & PUULUUP. May the best live performance win.
Love Ollie My Friend, the kind of music I listen to every day. Really like 5MINNUST & Puuluup too, like quirky stuff like this
Love Ollie My Friend, the kind of music I listen to every day. 5MINNUST & Puuluup is quite quirky.
5minnust please, absolutely unique ! Ollie this time is quite average.
i thought the same. i feel like some people are rooting for ollie and not his song.
