Fans won’t have much longer to wait until Malta reveals its Eurovision 2024 representative. Malta’s national broadcaster has finally announced that the grand final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place on 3 February.

More precisely, Television Malta has prepared a whopping six days of back-to-back Eurovision segments leading up to the grand final, starting from 29 January.

Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024

Between 29 and 31 January, TVM will broadcast interviews with each of the twelve finalists.

On 1 February, TVM will air the music videos of all the finalists. (PBS has contributed €5,000 towards the production of each music video.)

On the evening before the grand final, the finalists will take part in a musical program that revisits “moments of nostalgia” from local and international music.

All of these activities will culminate in the grand final on 3 February. However, as fans might recall, Malta has made some bold changes to its grand final format this year. For the first time, the grand final will not feature live performances at all. Instead, TVM will broadcast live-on-tape performances of the 12 acts, which will be pre-recorded on a specially dedicated stage at the PBS studios.

Based on the music videos and the live-on-tape performances, the Maltese jury and public will cast their votes for their favourite entry. Once all the votes have been cast, the winner of this year’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be announced, and one lucky artist will begin making preparations for their trip to Sweden.

Who will earn the right to represent Malta at Eurovision 2024? Can they take Malta back to the finals in Malmö? Let us know in the comments below.

Not to be mean, but I couldn’t care less about Malta after eliminating Dominic and Karin, who had the most interesting entries. I know it’s ironical that I bothered to comment, but still…
