The Cypriot mission towards Eurovision 2024 is stepping into the next phase of preparation with infectious enthusiasm. With three months to go until the contest, Silia Kapsis is making every moment count by ensuring rehearsals and the “Liar” music video shoot are all running smoothly.

Silia is presently in Cyprus, capturing the magic for the official video clip of her Eurovision entry. The shoot is taking place in the scenic city of Limassol. No doubt there will be some fine tuning in the editing studio afterwards, but “Liar” is expected to be ready for release to the public by late February.

Whilst in Cyprus, the Australian singer is also taking the opportunity to meet with press and undertake a range of interviews. This includes with our very own Deban Aderemi. If you missed Deban’s Instagram live chat with Silia, then you can rewatch it below.

Silia’s team for Eurovision is truly international. Before flying to Cyprus, the star successfully wrapped up the initial rehearsals for Eurovision in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. Collaborating with her talented choreographers, Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove, they crafted the lively choreography for “Liar.”

Adding to the excitement, Silia has also recently shared glimpses of her studio sessions with the composer of the Cypriot entry, Dimitris Kontopoulos, and the much-loved Victoria Halkiti on her social media. Kontopoulos now holds a joint record with Thomas G:son for writing Eurovision entries for the highest number of countries (seven).

Oh give it a rest people. Cyprus has been going through for most of the last few years. With the exception of Ela, which was a good song but unfortunately the singer had stage fright

I don’t understand why Cyprus decided to recycle an average song that was rejected by Greece last year and I’ve had enough with Kontopoulos buying his way to ESC almost every year. Silia seems to be talented so this is a totally wasted opportunity for Cyprus.

I don’t love kontopoulos’ songs either, but last years selection was a mess in Greece. The jury put it last while the public (demoscopic jury) voted it first.

‘Liar’ is weak even for his standards. I’m well aware of what happened in Greece last year but that doesn’t really change the fact that it was eventually rejected.

and where did you listen the whole song? I was one of the 70 members of the jury last year in Greece. We all voted the song with 12 and 10 points. It is an amazing banger, so it was an obvious choice for Cyprus.

You’re not the only Greek around here. Of course ‘Liar’ was better than ‘What they say’ but that doesn’t make it a good song.

Well let’s wait and see. They made a few changes to the song

A weak composition can’t really be saved by changes in orchestration but I will wait indeed.

Ermmm. You obviously don’t live on Earth. And you don’t know how the word remix gives a dull song new life and makes hits of songs that are never expected to be hits.

The song is boring! (I’ve heard the leak) it is not in “feugo” level and not even “replay”. Sorry!

I won’t write her off, but her “artistry” so far lacks any originality and personality

I admit that my wording was unfortunate, I ended up bashing her for no reason and my point didn’t come across 🙁
