Too much Sanremo on Wiwibloggs :/
Well, it’s a big thing this week. You have to go through it. After today it’s over 🙂
I like Il Volo Song talk about Love and is what Ee need this time in the World
For me, la Noia. And Mahmood always great. Happy with both.
By the way, there is already a great Italian version of z0rra

I really hope it is Loredana Berte going to Eurovision. Her Sister Mia Martini performed in Eurovision 1992 in Malmo. Loredana was also married to Bjorn Borg. Loredana for Malmo!
This edition is as a good as we were expecting. My favourites are Mahmood and Irama.
Top 10 – No particular order
Loredana Berte (would be a great choice)
Irama
Alessandra Amoroso
Annalisa
Diodato
Clara
The Kolors
BigMama
Nek/Francesco Renga
Mahmood
Woaw…total respect for Ricchi e Poveri !!….the song is really not ridiculous or outdated it’s good and catchy !!!!!!! Mahmood really deserves to go but I,d love to see Ricchi e Poveri…
I had big hopes for Diodato just cause Fai Rumore would clllleeeaarrly have won ESC that famous year…no question… but i’m quite underwhelmed by this one for now..
I still haven’t listened to all of them but for now it’s mahmood for sure….. annalisa is good but repetitive…i’d get over it pretty quickly
Loredana, Emma and Irama are the best this year! One of them should win! Annalisa and Angelina Mango are ok not as good as people said.
Loredana, Emma and Irama are the best this year! One of them should win! Annalisa and Angelina Moro are ok not as good as people said.
Annalisa’s song was my favorite last night, but I was impressed by Ricchi e Poveri, decades into their career and they still deliver! Their performance was stunning!
One of the reasons I love the Italian scene. In the UK, a band like that wouldn’t be allowed such a platform.
I’ve just listened to Mr. Rain’s song several more times and it’s stunning. Much better than Supereroi imo.
It’s Annalisa’s time. The studio cut is 10 times better than the live orchestra version
The live version is way better than the studio version, she increased the song with her powerful voice live
Running order for tonight guys : 2nd NIGHT RUNNING ORDER 1 Fred De Palma Il cielo non ci vuole 2 Renga & Nek Pazzo di te 3 Alfa Vai! 4 Dargen D’Amico Onda alta 5 Il Volo Capolavoro 6 Gazzelli Tutto qui 7 Emma Apnea 8 Mahmood Tuta gold 9 BigMama La rabbia non ti basta 10 The Kolors Un ragazzo, una ragazza 11 Geolier I’ p’ me, tu p’ te 12 Loredana Bertè Pazza 13 Annalisa Sinceramente 14 Irama Tu no 15 Clara Diamanti My top 5 from tonight are: Mahmood, Irama, II Volo, Fred de Palma and Renga… Read more »
It’s really tricky for me to single out one favourite over the others because I don’t dislike any of the 30 entries! I’ve listened to them on Spotify today and I like them all! Sanremo delivers once again, and I can just sit back and enjoy 30 good songs! Thank you Italy, Thank you Sanremo!
It really looks it’ll be Annalisa vs Angelina Mango for the win.
Geolier can still do it as he will probably win televote but I don’t know with press voting.
Loredana will have a big support as well I guess.
We may have some surprise
Hoping for Irama as a surprise winner.
Right now I think he will make superfinal thanks to televote as 5th. Once there, anything can happen this year
Posted in the other article by accident.
Not sure on a winner so far, but the ones I like the most…
Mahmood, Mr. Rain, Dargen D’Amico, The Kolors, Annalisa, Clara
I like a lot of the entries here, but the ones above were just the ones I immediately clicked with. ^^
My top 10: Annalisa, Mahmood, Mango, Irama, Dargen, The Kolors, Geolier, Rose Villain, Il Volo and Emma. However BigMama, Mr Rain, Clara, Fred and Ghali are all honourable mentions!
Really good year! It’s impossible to pick a bad song. All of these songs would top most of the other National Selections. Very diverse selection too with orchestral, rap, pop, electronic, dance and disco songs thrown in. I believe Italy really has a good chance of winning this year! The newer types of songs should be encouraged for song diversity sake!
I think I counted only 5 songs I wouldn’t send to Eurovision! Really high standards this year!
I can also see a lot of these songs being a hit in Italy or other countries even if they don’t do well here!
Diodato, Il Volo, and Irama are my favorites
Mahmood or Annalissa might win; not sure about the singer Angelina.
Don’t understand how Diodato’s boring song can be in top5 :/
People still feel he was robbed in 2020
Why does press jury always rank Irama low? They’re a joke and should he taken away from voting in future.
Most of those journalists are voting every year and they have their bias sadly.
My top 6:
1. Irama
2. Mahmood
3. Dargen
4. Angelina
5. Ghali
6. The Kolors
Comment section for Israeli singer not open? Guess we all know what country is going to get super booed in Malmo
At the same time she will probably swipe the televote by a lot. If she gets threatened in Malmö which is a big change it will be israles best pr moment of the year next to the olympics in paris.
Yeah but I’m afraid that a lot of people will vote for Israel for the same reason a lot of people won’t: because it’s Israel. I really wish Europe will boycott the country and bot vote for it but I’m not stupid and I know a lot of people will support them…
What a messed up world we live in.
I support Israel!
You do you, let others be.
I definitely let others be and do what they want but I also allow myself to judge.
By the way people could have said the same thing back in the 40s “Let others be”. Yeah…
Have you considered knitting? It supposed to claim once nerve.
They also closed the Icelandic national selection’s comment section after more comments were made about Israel and Bashar Murad
The comments were getting nasty and it’s such a shame Iceland included Bashar Murad in Söngvakeppnin for some virtue signaling stunt, as they have pretty nice songs
I actually unironically like his song. It’s catchy. Plus, he was educated in Jerusalem and so far hasn’t said anything about Israel this year.
He was already planning to participate even if nothing had escalated last Fall… He has pretty decent connections to Iceland at this point and travels there a lot.
Annalisa, Mahmood, Irama, Clara…in that order.
Annalisa would be a fab choice for Eurovision, and wouldn´t mind Mahmood a third time either – that man never disappoints.
Generally strong year though, many great songs. But how Loredana ended up first is beyond me…hopefully that changes during the week.
Månsmood… he’s everywhere.
I really liked Tuta Gold. Now I get why Mahmood is one of Italy’s biggest names, his artistry is constantly evolving and he always looks great doing so
Irama and Mr. Rain
LOL Bejba is starring in the music video of The Kolors playing a gym teacher which seems to be a much more suitable profession for her than singing. 😛
Ricchi e Poveri are a slay yet again!!!!!!!
the bond vibes in the intro, and such a quirky crowdpleasing wholesome banger, wow wow wow
Annalisa because I love her, great song and I would like to see her make a duet with Slimane…
Eden Golan a fantastic choice for Israel
TRUE
I think that Annalisa has the best song but watching the live performances I didn’t really connect with the song and that’s not a good sign. Angelina Mango on the other hand got me hooked and the song is really catchy and memorable, so she would be my choice for now. Many interesting songs though, so it may be a quite open competition this year.
I liked Irama, Dargen D’amico, Big Mama, Angelina Mango and Mannini. If I had to choose only one, I’d go with Irama.
I was a bit underwhelmed with Annalisa, Mahmood and Diodato, especially since I love their previous entries.
PS: It was so nice to see Ricchi e Poveri again. They were so cute in their bow <3
Annalisa, Angelina Mango or Mahmood!
I haven’t listened to half of the songs yet and perhaps will gradually listen to them during the day and during today’s and tomorrow’s shows. From what I’ve listened to, the top 5 is great if it had been in a slightly different order. Also I would have replaced Angelina whose song isn’t really my style with Irama. All in all a great festival, looking forward to the rest of the shows!
Annalisa didn’t actually fully click for me during the live performance but did after I listened to the Studio Cut. Not because she did anything wrong, she was amazing. But something about the Studio Cut really elevates the song for me? This might be one of those songs that actually just sounds nicer without the live orchestra since you get more out of the electronic sounds.
Annalisa to Eurovision for me however based on Studio Cuts and Lives for sure.
Took Wiwibloggs long enough to write one article about Israel and even then, made sure none of us would be able to comment.
Even I, as an Israeli, am ready to see comments against us, how come you won’t allow people to talk?
A bunch of cowards, unbelievable…
I think it was a smart decision – when there is a danger for the discussion to be off topic, insults thrown in any and all directions and trolls making light of the serious topic. The majority of the discussion would be people expresing their stance on wheather Israel should even compete, who did what terrible thing and if it’s more terrible than the thing the other side of the conflict did. Barely anyone would mention the singer chosen to represent the country in the contest and/or what song she might end up singing.
Did you read the article about Iceland on here? Thats when wiwi shut down the comment, it got really nasty. I don’t think they should shut down the comments but if they let it go on, this website will turn in to a pit of hate, which is kind of is anyway.
Roy it’s solidarity , all sites together decided to not have any articles on the Israeli selection till its winner. It’s called being there with your peers. The opposite of cowardice.
Or collective cowardice… If you ask me.
Hypocrisy too, as Israel has been in wars for so long now, not just this one.
They are all signs of our times unfortunately, when ignorants become suddenly masters of indoctrination, through the ‘enlightenment’ of TikTok. Meh.
Regarding TikTok, I really hope that UMG’s contract’s termination means the end of TikTok
I’m not well read enough on the topic to take sides at the moment.
As much as I hate when the comments sections are closed, I think it was a sensible decision. Every discussion related to Israel and P4l3st1n3 gets easily derailed and they get nasty real quick too
I disagree. If they are going to write and post an article then they should let people discuss it. It should not be one rule for one country and a different rule for another.
Mahmood and Annalisa were my favorites tonight. I also liked Clara but sure it won’t get even in the top 5. Generally, this year is extremely strong with lots of great performances. Very curious who’s gonna be the winner.
Same people on top every year. And Italy is always so hyped and once in Eurovision it doesn’t go so well as expected for some reason. Italian music is… italian. Songs sound good in Italian. But for me some performances feels a bit pretencious and too much drama.
Exactly!
Angelina’s song is so basic and repetitive. La noia, la noia again and again…If San Marino sends it, it will be even Q?? difficult….
I guess if Italy sends a towel, will be the winner for some “fans”. Italy is always over-hyped
You really think that Sanremo is somewhat comparable to Melodifestivalen?
To start with, there is an orchestra at Sanremo and songs there are not made of plastic.
I’d say Italy does exceptionally well at Eurovision. There are a lot of good songs every year and placing in the top 5 or 10 all the time is an amazing achievement.
But even if that weren’t the case, we’re glad we send what we consider to be our best for that year. It generally is good quality.
You basically post negative comments about EVERY country, except Sweden
Sanremo is the Festival of the Italian Song, so it is quite logic that some of the most popular artists are on top of the chart. Considering that getting the Eurovision pass is not their main purpose, I’d say that Sanremo winners have done quite well in ESC so far.
Mahmood should give us a break. He won 2 times and he’s been to Eurovision 2 times already, let other artists win… Time for Irama or Diodado, maybe? Well, anyone except Mahmood again!!!
Yes Iramas song is greath and Di9dato hace a good concept
People don’t go to Sanremo to go to Eurovision exclusively,,, Even if he DID win he might not even want to go to Eurovision again so soon
He will want, he’s to desperate for attention…
Dude, this might just be his best attempt!
Every year everyone loves san Remo and hates Melodifestivalen. I find it amusing. Italy this year had a lot of returning singers in their line up and ii dont see anyone whining about it. Nevertheless this selection is good
Exactly! Pretty annoying..
Well, Sanremo is the Festival of the Italian Song, so it is quite logic that it hosts what are supposedly the top notch acts of the Italian music scene, even if that means having few of the same artists performing for some year in a row. It would be nonsensical, both in terms of art and marketing, to leave them at home.
Omg, despite there being some “fillers” this was such a solid lineup and I just can’t pick up a favorite. Literally I loved more than 5 songs. Well done as usual, Italy!
1. Rose Villian
2. Angelina Mango (best performance)
3. La Sad
4. Fred De Palma
5. Ghali
6. bnkr44
Angelina Mango would be a great Eurovision contender. Rose Villian is my fave, hopefully she picks out a more fitting outfit next time tho xD
La Sad has a great song, the performance wasn’t perfect though so it took a couple listens before it latched onto my brain.
Not sure why Rose Villian is so underrated. Although I’m sure fellow ‘24 alum Emma can relate, La Mia Città was overlooked back in 2014 despite being an absolute banger
It’s so hard to choose, Italy has a stellar selection <3
If Angelina or Mahmood go to Eurovision they will win and I think Italy doesn’t want to win again so they will not choose either of them.
Annalisa’s song is a good song but not contemporary enough to win the contest so a safer choice for Italy who wants a good ranking but not to host the competition again.
How many times do we need to say this. Italy’s priority is sanremo, not Eurovision
Exactly. People seem to keep forgetting which one came first. Sanremo is the main goal, Eurovision is a fun added bonus
Well whatever came first, most of the people here that watch San Remo , watch it as a Eurovision NF.
Still, it’s always hard for non Italians to grasp that, for Sanremo participants, the ESC is the afterthought of an afterthought, if at all. They’re basically usually reminded about its existence only during the winner’s press conference, when somebody from the press starts talking about it.
My Top 5
1. Angelina Mango
2.Emma
3.Bukr44
4 Annalisa
5.Diadato
EMMA has a hit!!!!
I liked Ghali, The Kolors, Dargen D’amico, Big Mama, Ricchi e poveri, Angelina Mango, Annalisa. I quite like Loredana song and to have her in Eurovision would be totally iconic. Diodato didn’t grab me with his song this year, very surprised to see him top 5, also Mahmood cool song but I could see other songs in the top 5 instead. Listening to the songs several times now these are my options for Eurovision, Dargen D’amico: powerful song with a great message, nice outfits, nice glasses. Ricchi e poveri or Loredana: would totally be iconic on the esc stage. Big… Read more »
Ok I’ve heard the studio versions now and I must say that I prefer Mahmood’s song to Annalisa’s song, Angelina’s song is totally the genre I imagined from Marina for Greece.
So Mahmood’s song would be great for Eurovision.
Nothing close to Marina’s style lol. I don’t know how you even thought this lol. If you expect something like Annalisa’s song from Marina you will be disappointed. Marina is someone who combines ethnic and very traditional sounds with modern pop and trap sounds. Her style is more like Rosalia’s than Annalisa’s
Your comment about Angelina’s song is exactly what I thought too (and I’m Greek). Angelina and Marina seem to have similar styles, combining more traditional sounds with urban elements, so I’m curious to see if they end up competing eachother this year.
Annalisa is amazing. Mahmood is good but how many times more? He tried and couldn’t get bigger, he had a chance.
Let’s see new worldwide artist from Italy.
Love from NYC <3
Top five for now: Angelina Mango, Rose Villian, Fred de Palma, bnkr44, then either Ghali or La Sad. Sanremo is always full of growers tho, so who knows how we’ll all feel come night 5 haha
Forgot Santi Francesi! They were great too. Mahmood is my fave artist in this year’s lineup but his song didn’t really surprise me. Maybe it’s because I already listen to too much of his music lol Also big fan of Gazzelle, didn’t realize he was in Sanremo this year until he walked down those steps. It’s a sentimental ballad so I’ll probably need more listens before I realize how much I like it. Not a big fan of Annalisa’s music typically, but I really like her entry this year! The hype is valid And as others said, loving all the… Read more »
Okay add Emma, The Kolors & BigMama to that list. So many songs with modern production this edition, it’s great. Maybe due to Lazza’s second place last year?
Annalisa forever ?? from NYC
