Hello, Dora! Croatia’s Eurovision selection commences on Thursday night as 24 acts begin the battle for that coveted ticket to Malmö.

It is the first time since 2011 that the country’s Eurovision selection will involve more than one night of festivities. It begins with semi-final one on Thursday, followed by the second semi-final on Friday, then concluding with the big finale on Sunday.

Following the release of all the competing songs, we asked you to vote for your favourites out of 24 semi-finalists. Now it’s time to see who has won.

Baby Lasagna is a favourite to win Dora 2024

The hype is real, y’all. Marko Purišić, better known under his stage name Baby Lasagna, has won the hearts of our readers. His song, “Rim Tim Tagi Dim“, picked up a massive 43.16% of all votes cast in the poll – that’s 1,290 votes total.

Hundreds of thousands of YouTube views; trending across multiple digital platforms; frequent interview requests. The release of his Dora entry has certainly changed Baby Lasagna’s every day life and earned him a title of being one of the freshest breakthroughs of the Croatian music scene.

Croatia has been climbing the Eurovision winner odds, now shooting up as high as third favourite with the bookies. There are a lot of expectations, but will the country even choose Baby Lasagna? We’ll find out by Sunday.

Coming distant second is another Dora debutant. Lana Mandaric will sing “More” at the contest after having recently been discovered on TV show Supertalent, where she was judged by Severina (Eurovision 2009), Nika Turković (Junior Eurovision 2004), and Tonci Huljic (Croatia’s Eurovision 1999 songwriter). In our poll, she earned 356 votes, which is 11.91% of the total.

Following just behind in third is actor and singer Eugen with his heartfelt ballad called “Tišine”. He secured 354 votes, or 11.84% overall.

Last year’s Dora winners, Let 3, haven’t garnered as much support this time around – our readers only cast 131 votes for “Babaroga“, placing them fifth.

English IS NOT necessary to win the Eurovision. Look at Serbia (2007), Portugal (2017), and Ukraine (2022). All that’s needed are extremely powerful performances and vocals. ALL songs in the native language, PLEASE!

Clearly the best choice and it will do really well at Eurovision, but I’m a bit skeptical calling it a potential winner… I don’t think juries will go crazy for this and it will do well in the televote, but may split votes with similar entries like Finland, Estonia and potentially the Netherlands.

If vocally good and staging as well, juries will not ignore him…. I don’t think it will split points with Finland, maybe Estonia. Netherlands, no song yet, but what Inhave seen from that artist, they will be splitting votes with Finland

Marko or nobody.
Otherwise, THERE’S NO GOING BACK! for Croatia from the catastrophy of possibly not choosing him.

Although I want Marko to win the whole contest I feel Ukraine has got huge social media numbers and views. With the one million refugees I can’t see it getting beat

They had the same last year. They were leading the odds until end of February when they started to drop. They will for sure do well, due to song as well as refugees but I would not sign off on their win just yet.

Baby Lasagna for the win. Let 3’s song is crap, but on the other hand they had an even worse song last year and yet they represented Croatia. It’s time for a decent song this year…

I voted for The Splitters as I’m a huge fan of them and they have a beautiful song this year. But I’m also on the Baby Lasagna-train, and would really like to see him slay in Malmo!

Pardon the ignorance but WHY is everybody talking about corruption in this comment section? Has there been a precedent or something with Dora?

We have a corrupt government (with a literal court ruling against them) and HRT (broadcaster) is just an extension of that government.

Thanks for explaining, sorry to hear this! I hope this time it’s going to be fair and the best representative will be chosen!

As Robert said it is referencing general corruptio, but comments here are also a bit of a joke.

They should’ve pulled a Slovenia and internally selected him, there’s literally no competition…

If Baby Lasagna isn’t picked, it will be the worst missed opportunity of the ENTIRE Eurovision NF season. Get in line, Ryk!

I am just a bit worried that it can be rigged for Sasa Lozar. He’s been accepted with a poor song which already shows some sort of preferential treatment. He has also been in the industry for dozens of years and probably has good connectioms with HRT and the budget to fund the participation himself.

could be a poor song at first listen, but all whats important is your live performing qualities

for all we know Sasa is similar to Kedzo live vocal wise (i mean Divlji Vjetre back in 2020 also for got 110% enhanced in the live performance compared to studio)

Sasa Lozar is here just to promote his song. Generally he is a has been in Croatia. Failed singer turned radio host.

everything is rigged in favor for Baby Lasagna, could also have been an internal selection tbh

croatia are corrupt, so no worries, BL is going to Malmo, the one with most fan hype always wins in Dora

LOL, now its rigged for BL, in other places people claim its rigged for Vatra…. Poor HRT, they even can not do rigging right 😀

If it’s rigged for BL, I’m happy. Internally select my boy!

It’s so rigged that Dora forgot to select the song they had ‘internally selected’ in the first place… so then they had to rig it even more to get another act to withdraw just to include the song they wanted all along, but forgot to include in the initial line-up. Sure. Makes sense.

And then they rigged odds, wiwibloggs and people minds to actually like it! That is some pro level mid control!

I am just afraid of proud jury members and HRT corruption. I obviously want Baby Lasagna to win. But I would not mind if someone else wins in a FAIR way! But if the victory was set up by HRT, then this is a huge loss for Croatia. I hope these corrupt broadcasters just choose acts internally. Just send your Vatra band and don’t mess with people’s feelings (Both artists’ and fans feelings).

I’d love for Baby to win! Definitely can make a very good result for Croatia. But I wouldn’t be too sad if somehow Marcela wins too. I can’t decide. I feel like we got pulled into Baby that we totally sleep on Marcela who has a really good song too! Cant wait Sunday!!!!

Rim Tim Tagi Dim is fabulous and a real contender to win Eurovision for Croatia! Let’s hope Croatia gets behind this gem. Got to feel for Damir Kedzo though who missed his chance in 2020 and has another great song this year. But this is Baby Lasagna’s year. Eurovision Croatia 2025? Yes please.
