No need to fell hollow y’all, Latvia‘s incredible Eurovision 2024 singer Dons will be coming to the London Eurovision Party! He will bring his gravelly tones and pure emotion to the Here At Outernet stage on April 7th, much to fans delight.

The champion of Latvia’s national selection Supernova comes to the esteemed pre-party after being the fan favourite in the selection. We can’t wait to take that moment to enjoy his deep and powerful vocal in the show!

Who is Dons?

Dons – real name Artūrs Šingirejs – is a Latvian singer from the town of Brocēni in the west of the country. He has had an extremely successful career in his home country, having released nine albums with a tenth scheduled for release not long after Eurovision.

He initially started his career taking part in the reality show Talantu Fabrika (‘Talent Factory’) back in 2003. He has remianed popular since, but has especially risen in the charts of Latvia in the past few years. He has had 5 singles high in the charts since 2018, with his Eurovision entry “Hollow” reaching the Top 10.

He has attempted to represent Latvia twice before – coming 2nd both times. The first was in 2010, during a time when he lived in London. He participated in the national final with “My Religion Is Freedom”, earned a tie with Aisha; however as she recieved more votes from the public, she was chosen. In 2014 he returned with “Dziesma” (“Song”), but suffered a shock loss to Aarzemnieki with “Cake To Bake”. He only lost by 97 votes total, to the surpise of the audience.

He went on to be a host of the Latvian national final in it’s current form, Supernova. He was a judge in 2015; the year Aminata Savadogo triumphed and later got a much-needed Top 10 result at Eurovision in Vienna. This year, he went on to win the same show by over 33,000 audience votes. Just a bit more than the 97 he lost out on in 2014…
