There is no going back, Baby Lasagna is bringing the “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” to London Eurovision Party! Yes, fan favourite and this year’s Croatian entry will be coming to Here At Outernet in central London on April 7th.

Baby Lasagna, has taken Europe by storm! And Eurofans are already dreaming of a first Eurovision win for Croatia. After “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” was released in January, Mr Lasagna became the talk of Europe. Within hours of the song reveal, “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” was trending within the Top 50 on Croatian YouTube. Now, he has amassed over 3 million views of his Dora 2024 winning performance!

Who is Baby Lasagna?

Baby Lasagna — real name Marko Purišić — wasn’t originally picked for the Croatian National Final, Dora. But producers from Croatia’s national broadcaster revealed that Zsa Zsa had withdrawn and that they were replacing her with a relatively unknown, 28 year old Baby Lasagna.

Baby Lasagna took Dora by storm! Destroying the field and winning with 321 points. 239 more points than Vinko who finished in second place!

Our William Lee Adams chatted with Baby Lasanga after his addition to the Dora lineup.
“I didnt expect anything! I just thought I would be one of the contenders, if I get a hundred new fans, that’s it.”

London Eurovision Party 2024

This song will definitely not win Eurovision because of the other crazy entries like Estonia and Finland, they will most likely steal votes from each other but will get high in Scoreboard

Last year Cratia was very high in the odds before the song was released, this year Croatia was very high in the odds before the song was released, and the artist was announced. How is this possible? Croatia is not Sweden…

I’m here for the intriguing fight between pretentious in speech, music critics wannabe, deep analysises and legitimate predictors. It’s funny.

Anyways, looks like most of you just have crush on this lasagna. The song itself is okay. I love Croatia, my fav country, but no chance to win with this.

So, calm down sassy g-s!

But it’s a sign that an entry probobly ends up in top 3-5. It all depends on the juries and if they support it. The live performance have flaws. The performance itself is not as impactful as Finland last year. And Baby not as charismatic as Käärijä. Personally I have felt that this is a substitute for Käärijä. The comparison is one of the things that can bring this entry down. Especially with juries. You know.. “Done and seen before..”

Exactly – early favourites often fall back and lose momentum as the contest gets closer. The hype certainly seems to have cooled a but since those lacklustre Dora performances – there seems to be less talk of him winning and more of him finishing around 3rd.

Things may change again and once rehearsals start, he might look like a winner. As it stands, it’s not a winner yet.

I see, but its not really fair to feel like that about it. What I don’t understand is why Croatia was so high in the odds even before the selection of the song (Is he a very famous artist in his region? And was he announced) early? And why the song has so little you tube views in comparison with some other participants. Is it only because Croatia is a small country? Or is it less popular than it seems I’m a bit clueless, help me out.

Kor

Song was released in early January (lyrics video) and was instant hit (hence improvement of odds) He is not famous at all, performance in national final was his first performance as solo artist. Before he was a guitar player in a Croatian band as well as quite sucesfull songwriter (got an award for top album in Germany). As for YouTube views, there are actually few videos, some on ESC channle, some on national final channel and his own, so total views is over 9 million views.

Didn’t say it was but knowing that the majority of Balkan countries are already struggling financially, if you add to that the fact that they’re getting poor results, I can completely understand the loss of interest in the competition. And I’d like Eurovision to once again be a celebration for all Europeans, not just those with money who score well. So if making a country that’s generally in difficulties win can encourage others in the same situation to come back, then I’ll take it.
