The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is fast approaching, with 37 countries set to compete for the trophy in Malmö. The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — has now determined who they think the victor should be. We’ve ranked each of the acts participating at Eurovision 2024 and written our own reviews of their songs. It’s hard work being honest, but somebody has to do it.

Our jury consists of 17 jurors who hail from Australia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, Romania, United Kingdom, and the United States of America. We are truly international, y’all!

Each juror assesses each song independently and then awards the entry a score from 1 to 10. The highest and lowest scores are dropped (to remove potential bias) before we then determine the Wiwi Jury average.

Scores and reviews were done in March 2024, based on available versions of the songs at that time. As always, Wiwi Jury reviews will not be changed to reflect new information from pre-party performances or the Eurovision rehearsals.

The UK being that low is really surprising below Czechia and Denmark, even though I love the latter, I still find the UK entry far stronger. Belgium sitting at #10 makes me seethe, its not a good entry that has been persistently overhyped by the fandom. Its a train wreck.

I agree with the low score for Finland…….totally justified. But why are so many people tipping this to fly through to the final. Surely that’s contradictory.

Czechia & Denmark higher than Latvia!!! really. Those two even higher than UK! Someone needs their ears cleaning out. Ill be back when both those don’t qualify.

Austria are going to come sixth by the time this is done, since Switzerland and Croatia will finish higher. SIXTH! I appreciate that it can be a somewhat fun song in the right context but for that many people to rate such a middling song that highly is genuinely mystifying! Denmark and Cyprus also have no business being so high up.

To be fair I think Croatia are grotesquely high and should be around 20-30 due to the quality of the song and would get betweeen 3-4 in my score had I voted

I have to admit that this year is unpredictable. It’s hard to guess the winner. Can’t wait for the grand final

This is in my opinion such a great year, so i am surprised to see so low scores so far… So what it really is is a divisive year I guess. Then i did a deep dive in previous years wiwi reviews and there really are much lower scores still from previous years. At least there are no songs this year that will score less than 4,63 – which makes it a very even year overall and probably still better than most other years. Of the 7 songs left i assume most will get an above 8 rating… So Norway… Read more »

It’s so annoying how this site is holding back on releasing the main ticket reviews. These scores impact the betting odds so it would be good to have them available.

Putting Armenia, Azerbaijan, Slovenia that low should be a crime. Norway, Sweden, Cyprus and Luxembourg HEAVILY overrated. (BIASED)

Well there have been loads of “crimes” committed by the wiwi jury since they started their reviews back in 2012…i am inclined to believe that they themselves would agree: of the 444 songs they have reviewed between 2012 and 2023 «Fuego» is in the overall 85th position with a score of 7.61. I bet they dont agree with this score anymore. LoL. It is just for fun though, even how much we might disagree on some of the opinions. Love love peace peace, remember!

It’s one thing that this fared similarly with them to poor entries like X my Heart and Lost And Found when it’s one of the best ever non-winners and this is said by someone who loves Toy – but Remember how they reviewed Calm After The Storm and had to re-evaluate it?

I think we are at a place now where people are actually grading music videos versus actual songs/performances. The more expensive and stylistic you present a song in video the higher your scores. And then Eurovision happens and you see what happens. Just saw that Mustii performance on the Voice Belgique—and if that song was NQ it wouldn’t surprise me. In fact I’m sure if it was in Semi 1 it would not qualify with that performance he just gave. Just a reminder of how last year’s OGAE top 10 favorites—France, Austria and UK—ended up after never doing a live… Read more »

Yes there is way to much emphasis on music videos and the internally selected songs usually get way more points than what they would have gotten if there had been a live performance of the songs… the songs that have come through live selection shows are usually punished for having been performed live …. the actual result in the contest rarely agrees with the jury scores of wiwi, but they are still fun to read in my opinion, despite me disagreeing as well as agreeing alot.

People on jury giving Ireland 2 out of 10 and less have no comprehension of brilliant and artistic acts
I would give Bambi thug 10 points as this song is so unique and catchy and artistic
Maybe way too good for Eurovision

This year’s Ireland is one of the worst songs in Eurovision’s 21st century history. This is not an artistic act at all – shouty, bad vocals, weird costumes. It’s to shock people, probably the act od desperation from Ireland to get any attention after do many poor results on last 15-20 Yeats.

At the moment, I feel quite confident to share my top 37 of the year, without changing anything else before the rehearsals, most of the entries have been locked in the positions I have personally chose, after most of the pre-parties are over as well, with quite many of the original positions altered in the process. Keep in mind that this top-37 is just MY PERSONAL OPINION, which is 100% subjective so, please don’t be mad (and do not spam downvotes for no reason at all, just completely ignore the comment) if a song you like is not high on… Read more »

It is incredible how affected people are by music videos… literally every podcast I have listened to, and reactions I have seen have been «put off» by the Australian lyric video, and I am sure this is the main reason why people don’t rate Australia very high. On the other hand, people also rate songs like Croatia and Switzerland very high because of great videos. It is almost like people are not able to rate a song based on song only… i have a feeling there will be lots of changing of opinions after the actual show this year!

Why is it incredible? For both Croatia and Switzerland we have seen videos and live performances of the song being sung. For Australia, all we have is a lyric video with an audio track. I wasn’t put off by it (the song is super), but I can understand why others were hoping to have seen a bit more by now. I can’t remember the last winning song which we didn’t see performed live before the contest. Loreen (x2), Kalush, Maneskin, Ducan, Netta, Salvador, Jamala, Mans, Conchita, Emmilie all did so.

What that may mean, I fear, is that people will just vote for the favourite on the night. They won’t be bothered to watch all the songs, tune in for the favourite to see what all the fuss is about, then vote for it because they didn’t see anything else.
