The Eurovision club mixes have just got a new addition. Slimane’s original version of “Mon Amour”, which has already racked up over 20 million listens on Spotify, has been reinvented with the brand new Meya Rework.

This move is part of the singer’s ongoing effort to surprise and engage his audience across Europe ahead of Eurovision 2024.

Slimane – “Mon amour” (Meya Rework)

The Meya Rework of “Mon Amour” has been arranged by Meïr and Yaacov Salah, the composers with whom Slimane co-wrote his Eurovision entry.

In this version, Slimane blends traditional sounds inspired by his Algerian heritage with touches of electro-pop. The intense ballad is transformed into a light, mesmerising track. Surprisingly, it is enhanced by a refreshing dance interlude.

This rendition has evolved from the original while still preserving the emotional intensity that characterises the first track. His audience will not be surprised by this new version, which fits in with Slimane’s characteristic style.

Fans of “Mon Amour” will be reassured to know that this rework is not a replacement. Instead, it’s an alternative that will coexist with the original version that Slimane plans to perform at the Eurovision Grand Final.

The rework is an expansion of Slimane’s artistic style, as he continues to skilfully blend various genres to enrich his repertoire.

The Meya Rework is an excellent opportunity for Slimane to show another facet of his musicality to the international public, and to communicate his artistic approach.

This isn’t the first time Slimane has made changes to “Mon Amour”. During his tour of the Eurovision pre-parties in Barcelona, London, and Amsterdam, the singer dedicated the last chorus of his competing song to the language of the host country.

He’s been able to charm in every country he visits, and hopefully that will continue across the rest of Europe in May.

What do you think of the Meya Rework of “Mon Amour”? Do you prefer it to the original, or like it just as much? Let us know in the comments section.

shame … if they went with this version it will shoot up from my bottom 10 to the top 10 easily. sure, it’s still generic but far more listenable than the “ballad” version which I cannot stand.

As long as this is just an alternate version and not the the one he will do in contest – fine.

But he can’t do this in contest because as it is now, he stands out for having one of the very, very few songs with any actual emotion in it. Don’t throw that away.

When I saw the title, I couldn’t help imagining Slimane doing a dance break “à la” Chanel.
