Ireland’s Bambie Thug missed the final dress rehearsal for Eurovision 2024 on Saturday afternoon.

Posting on their Instagram story, the star noted there was a situation before the flag parade that required urgent attention from the EBU.

“Dear Coven,

“There was a situation while we were waiting to go to stage for the flag parade rehearsal which I felt needed urgent attention from the EBU — the EBU have taken this matter seriously and we have been in discussion about what action needs to be taken. This means I have missed my dress rehearsal — I am really sorry to the fans that have come to see me. I hope to see you on the stage tonight.

“#CrownTheWitch”

Fans first noticed Bambie Thug’s disappearance when they were not present at the flag parade that runs at the start of the Eurovision grand final.

Greece’s Marina Satti and Switzerland’s Nemo also did not walk during the flag parade. However, both Marina and Nemo later took to the stage for their performances on the Malmö arena stage.

All your boycotting and agression will change nothing about the ongoing killing. This not the right forum for effective protest. If it makes you feel better to hate speech in an online forum on Eurovision, please go on. But be sure, it will change nothing.

Let’s CELEBRATE those ARTISTS/countries/broadcasters that have the COURAGE to speak up following Israel’s participation, the tweaking of countries’ winner chances, Joost’s dq AND MR ÖSTERDAHL lack of leadership. As I’ve said already – What Mr Österdahl doesn’t seem to understand is that politics has always been part of Eurovision. It was his job to make sure the it didn’t catch on and burn down the entire contest!

I have become obsessed with Bambie. I am Team Ireland tonight.

Idea for 2025. Derry. Or Belfast. Hosted by Nicola Coughlan. Co-production between RTE and BBC, which will help with RTE’s funding issues, but more importantly show how PEACE and CO-OPERATION are a realistic goal. Illustrate to a continent that needs a reminder.

That’s what I was thinking… And I’m pretty sure that’s what would happen if there’s sufficient ‘people hosting’ capacity (Northern Ireland). RTE would use BBC OB anyway as they don’t have the equipment for such a huge show on their own.

As much as I love your enthusiasm, and as much as I would LOVE if Ireland won. I don’t it will happen.

If it did though, I think RTÉ would have no issue hosting in Dublin. Barry Keoghan as one of the presenters, seeing as getting a Hollywood star to do-present seems to be the thing nowadays.

Irish government would provide the necessary funding to host at the 3 Arena. They’re crying out to host an event of this scale.

But anyway I don’t think we have to worry about that. Though I will happily eat my words otherwise.

“You again? Next time, I will hit you!”
(said by Joost to a cameraman that was following him, after he asked twice for her to leave)

That would be the motivation for DQ The Netherlands.

Israel (not Jews), you are not the good guys here. Have not been for a while. Stop pretending. Stop playing the victims. Your state and the politics of oppression towards Arab Palestinians for many decades were the cause of October 7th. Enough playing dumb and spreading your rhetoric everywhere.
Your right wing government is used to leverage propagandistic tools to fool its population. And the want Eurovision to amplify that.

Could Osterdahl’s tenure be up by now? There’s no way one can say that the adminstration of this years contest has been a success. So far he’s overseen a contest that has had a broken stage, a year with 6 countries cheating when it came to the juries, a year where the EBU published a song (Belarus 2021) which has had clear anti-democratic and peace message, a year where the EBU has failed to remove Russia ( a country attacking another’s freedom of liberty – just like now) only for several countries to hold the EBU accountable with boycotting.
