Although we’re officially into the Eurovision 2025 season, it will still be some time before we hear any national final and Eurovision songs. Thankfully, the music will always continue and a number of Eurovision artists are still producing new songs for us to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2024 | Week 39

Alina Pash feat. Bambie Thug – “Bad Witch”

Calling all witches!! Alina Pash put out the call for a “Bad Witch” and Bambie Thug responded. Described as Alina’s “personal feminist celebration,” the Vidbir 2022 winner first released the track as a solo effort a few weeks ago. Now the song has the touch of another monarch, with Ireland’s Eurovision 2024 star adding their ouija-pop flavour to proceedings. The duo want us to embrace our shadow side and be whoever we want to be: “Witch, slut, feminist / I use my beauty for my benefit / Sorcery cause I’m a bad witch like / Abracadabracadabracadabra / F*ck with me and come and get hit with that / Abracadabracadabracadabra.”

alyona alyona & KLER – “Тільки в твоїх обіймах”

The first of many Ukrainian duets this week comes from alyona alyona (Eurovision 2024) and KLER. The two of them blend their musical styles for “Тільки в твоїх обіймах” (“Only in your arms”), with KLER singing melodic lines that alyona alyona then adds to with a rap verse. Lyrically, they discuss how we all have someone who is thinking of us even when they might not physically be close by: “Only in your arms, in your hands / Blooming / I will find my way / I’m confused and lost.” Sharing a message on social media, they added:

“We wish everyone to have a person with whom their soul will flourish, a person with whom nothing is scary. Remember that you are needed and always have someone mentally hugging you!”

Damiano David – “Silverlines”

After a successful rise to fame with the Eurovision 2021 winning band Måneskin, Damiano David is now venturing out into a solo project. It marks a new chapter in the Italian star’s career and also sees him trialling a new musical style. Gone are the guitars and rock influence; instead, Damiano delivers a ballad that aims to showcase both the soft and powerful sides to his voice: “Until my tears run dry / And clouds fall from the sky / All all my fears they disappear / And I see silverlines.” It’s an intriguing introduction to this solo path, though lacks any memorable hook to act as a song with replay potential. But this is just the start.

iolanda, Karetus & Vitorino – “Laurinda”

Karetus are a Portuguese duo of musical producers who competed at Festival da Canção 2021. For their latest song, “Laurinda,” they’ve collaborated with Eurovision 2024 star iolanda as well as singer Vitorino. The result is a dramatic piece of art that mixes traditional music with contemporary elements. Vitorino opens up the song: “Oh Laurinda, beautiful, beautiful / You are more beautiful than the Sun / Let me sleep one night / On the edges of your blanket.” iolanda then plays the part of this mysterious character: “I am Laurinda, beautiful, beautiful / I am the one who dictates your fate / And if today I sleep with you / I will sleep with my death.”

Jerry Heil & Julia Sanina – “WABI-SABI”

“Walking through the old front door / But you’re not the same / Changes that you can’t ignore / What is now your name / Every crack and every pain / Turn it into the gold / Let it flow inside your veins.”

Our next Ukrainian power pairing is Jerry Heil (Eurovision 2024) and Julia Sanina (Eurovision 2023 host, Vidbir 2016). Sung in both English and Ukrainian, “WABI-SABI” is also influenced by the Japanese philosophy of embracing change — something that all Ukrainians have had to do as a result of the ongoing war following Russia’s invasion. This is also seen in the accompanying music video, which depicts the process of “kintsugi” – the art of repairing broken pottery with gold, which is believed to make the piece more beautiful and valuable.

Jerry Heil: “Today, you won’t find a single Ukrainian who hasn’t been traumatized, either morally or physically. This is a new reality that we must accept. And in this reality, new understandings of beauty emerge.”

Julia Sanina: “By gathering ourselves from the fragments, like a broken vase, we become even stronger, even more beautiful, we become different and learn to love ourselves – as we are now. This is an art that we are all learning as a society. Because we will never be the same as we were.”

Cascada – “Studio 24”

Just a couple of weeks to go until Cascada drop their first new album in 13 years. As a final teaser of what’s to come, the German group have shared the LP’s title track, “Studio 24.” The track samples Rockwell’s “Somebody’s Watching” and transforms it into a disco banger in which Eurovision 2013 singer Natalie Horler is ready to dance all night long: “So quit your crying / Get yourself on the floor / Studio 24 / No need for hiding / I want to give you more.”

Joker Out – “Bluza”

Joker Out have had a busy summer. Not just going on tour, Slovenia’s Eurovision 2022 band have also been recording their upcoming third studio album, set for release in November. The latest cut from the LP is “Bluza” (“Blouse”), a love song about the first moment you fall head over heels for someone else: “The room feels too small for us / I’m acting like a drunk idiot / But I haven’t had a single glass / I think I’ve fallen in love with you / Yes, me, who didn’t believe I could be crazy about someone / For you, like in love songs and movies, I would go anywhere now.” Musically, the rock ballad infuses the guitars with additional keyboards and synthesisers to give Joker Out’s sound a new flavour.

MÉLOVIN & iSKra – “Обиратиму себе”

Eurovision 2018 star MÉLOVIN has teamed up with iSKra for “Обиратиму себе” (“I will choose myself”). The pair of Ukrainian singers bring us a powerful ballad about choosing yourself and putting an end to everything that makes you unhappy. This message is shared directly with the listener during the spoken-word bridge: “And you, please, choose yourself, because only in unconditional love will arise hard work on mistakes, a merciless duel with your own self. And when you choose yourself, become honest with yourself, I will come out again to write to you: Hello!”

Andrei Ursu & Sasha Lopez – “About U”

Andrei Ursu (aka wrs) has teamed up with Moldovan DJ Sasha Lopez for the new single “About U.” The pair deliver a pop-dance track with a simple but catchy melody. The main hook just sees Romania’s Eurovision 2022 star repeating “Mmmmmmmmm” over and over again on top of a guitar riff. But the verses allow him to sing: “Summer in my heart / Feel the burning love / When I’m here right next to you / If you don’t leave tonight / I will fall cause I’m / Thinking only about you.”

Elena Tsagrinou – “PSEMATA”

Elena Tsagrinou is building up to the release of her new album in November. Ahead of that, she’s gifted us “PSEMATA.” Cyprus’ Eurovision 2021 star serves up a catchy slice of pop to keep the heat going even as autumn draws on. Elena has another present for us on Monday, when the music video is set to premiere.

Beth – “Continuarà”

Eurovision 2003 star Beth is heading to the stage. She’ll be appearing in the musical El Fil Invisible (The Invisible Thread) this December at Barcelona’s Teatre Goya. Based on the book of the same name by Míriam Tirado, it’s about the ties that bind us to those we love most. The songs are gradually being released on streaming platforms ahead of the show, and now we have Beth’s solo offering, “Continuarà” (“Continue”).

Samanta Tīna – “Nav Nevienas Saules”

The sun is setting on Samanta Tīna’s relationship. With her new single, “Nav Nevienas Saules” (“There is no sun”), Latvia’s Eurovision 2021 representative sings of the darkness setting in despite the love between them: “There is no sun around / Which would warm us / And show us the way again / There is no sun / We love each other forever / Even if the room is dark.” Samanta wrote more about the message behind the song on social media:

“The new song ‘Nav Nevienas Saules’ is a story about relationships, about love that is not meant to be, about the painfully beautiful, staying forever in each other’s heart for that ‘special one’, but unfortunately unattainable.”

“I could no longer suppress / The sweetest dreams of my heart / On a leaf of a white rose / I wrote down a few words […] But when I wanted to read my words again / I saw a flaw in the leaf / I could not see the words / And the fragile leaf turned yellow / The trace of dreams faded / And the sweet expression disappeared / That I wanted to send her into the world.”

“Zwiędły listek” (Withered leaf) is a poem by Polish poet Adam Asnyk. Eurovision 2017 singer Kasia Moś has added music to these words to form her new single, transforming them into a beautiful and magical ballad. Moś decided to leave the words exactly as they were originally written:

“Asnyk writes about love in a simple yet multidimensional language. These are moving and timeless words that are hard to find in the modern world. I sing them in their original form, without changing the endings from masculine to feminine, because this would be not only strange and risky, but above all, unnecessary. Love has no gender, and a man loves just as much as a woman. Poetry would not win the fight for feminatives. I only allowed myself to omit the word ‘withered’ from the title. I wanted this romantic sadness to have a little less regret and more hope.”

VICTORIA – “IN BETWEEN”

“I want to scream / Let the water rush in / It’s the only place you left for me / If the ocean is lonely / Finally found myself in the deep / Been gone for so long in the in between.”

VICTORIA’s new single certainly takes you on a journey. Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2021 star begins by pulling on your heartstrings, subsequently gets us dancing, and then proceeds to tear off the band aid and let the hurt back in. “IN BETWEEN” revolves around the theme of loneliness, as VICTORIA explained on social media:

“IN BETWEEN is all about finding yourself when you’re on your own. i wrote it during a rough time when i felt super lonely. it’s kinda sad, but also lowkey beautiful. you fight the loneliness, but then realize that’s when you really face your fears and grow. being alone teaches you, heals you, and makes you stronger.”

Dragonu AKA 47 feat. Connect-R – “Gradina Interioara”

Romanian artist Dragonu AKA 47 has invited Eurovision 2006 rapper Connect-R to appear on his latest song. “Gradina Interioara” (“Interior Garden”) blends together elements of R&B and hip-hop to produce a chilled and laid back offering.

ALIKA – “saame kokku”

“Let’s meet again / Where we’ve been / I’ll sit on a rock / When you’re gone / Of course, you’re away / Now I understand… mmmm / I want to be beside you.”

Eurovision fans will remember ALIKA from 2023 when she delivered the powerful ballad “Bridges.” The Estonian star veered away from such wistful feeling songs for a time, delving into pop and rock for her self-titled debut album. But as a self-proclaimed “ballad girl,” ALIKA is now somewhat reverting back to the sombre tones. “saame kokku” (“let’s meet”) sees ALIKA continuing to explore her artistry, as she hopes to have another encounter with a special someone. Writing more about her current musical evolution, ALIKA wrote on Instagram:

“in the summer, a new vision in my music came and to be honest, it wasn’t easy at all. there are a lot of choices and honestly I would like to try them all. My childhood songs that have always been melancholic have become my inspiration. decided to put together what it all started and where I am now. myself would call it ‘melancholic pop’ or a bit melancholic, but at the same time how someone sees it themselves. still rhythmic, and up-tempo but more, maybe, romantic (? ) Everyone runs to songs ‘the more fun – the better’. and to each their own thing. i personally feel like i’ve always been a ‘ballad girl’ and music has gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life. when I’m sad, happy, romantic- I listen to more melancholic music, haha. idk, somehow i feel more freedom in my music now and I hope you do too.”

KEiiNO – “Say It Like That”

Norwegian trio KEiiNO have used the expertise from some of their Nordic friends for this latest release. “Say It Like That” was written in Helsinki, recorded in Oslo, and then mastered back in Finland. The result is a pop offering that harks back in time due to the vocoder effects in the chorus. In the lyrics, the Eurovision 2019 televote winners reference a partnership they can’t give up even if it isn’t working: “Oh, I’m in so much trouble / Our love is a struggle / But I need it and you know I do / And when you say it like that / You know I’ll always come back to you.”

Ash Haynes – “Show Me Love”

Ash Haynes may have moved back to the United States, but there’ll always be a piece of Sweden in her heart. The Eurovision 2020 singer has been included in the new Aspen Creek project, put together by Jacob Borgenstierna, which centres itself around Swedish west coast music. Ash lends her vocals to “Show Me Love,” a cheery number with gospel influences: “Show me love / I’m standing right here, waiting to meet you half way / I’ll show you life / ‘Cos you make me feel for you and for me everyday.”

Aksel Kankaanranta – “Hajonneet”

Aksel has recently signed with a new record label, and the first song under this new partnership is “Hajonneet” (“Shattered”). Finland’s Eurovision 2020 entrant delivers a catchy indie pop track that still has an emotional pull to it. Aksel sings about how past traumas do not have to define us and that we should continue to move forward: “You’ve come such a long way already / It’s not good to throw away everything you are / Not easy, yes / But it doesn’t matter because we have shattered.”

Tinkara Kovač – “Predzadnja laž”

Tinkara Kovač has swapped flutes for guitars. The Slovenian artist has dropped a new rock-inspired track to showcase a gritty side to her music. Titled “Predzadnja laž” (“The penultimate lie”), the Eurovision 2014 alumna is not prepared to hear any more mistruths.

Molly Sterling – “Strong Leech”

Five years after their last release, Molly Sterling returns. Ireland’s Eurovision 2015 representative has released “Strong Leech,” a haunting ballad in which they’re accompanied by piano and cello. The song itself was ready to go five years ago, but Molly has taken time to do things the way they want, and prepare a new EP for 2025. Speaking about their newest song, Molly noted:

“I have had ‘Strong Leech’ in my back pocket for five years. The first time I played it on stage was that Vicar Street gig in 2019. It was a very important song for me to write because it told me a lot about myself and what I needed at that time. There is no way to escape your gut feeling, that’s what this song has taught me. Sometimes songs are little lessons that come to visit you just to keep an eye, y’know – like a little robin!”

Hanna Pakarinen & Waldo

FARIANA feat. Flo Rida – “PLATANO” & “ON TOP OF THE WORLD”

FARIANA is a Colombian singer who was a pioneer of reggaeton music in the country. The acclaimed star has now dropped her latest album, UNDERWATER, which includes two tracks in partnership with Eurovision 2021 rapper Flo Rida. “PLATANO” leans a little more in the hip-hop direction, whilst “ON TOP OF THE WORLD” is here to get the party started with a trumpet interlude.

Eurovision 2019 alum Chingiz Mustafayev has shared “Her Şey İçinde” (“It’s all in”). The song has been a while in the making — written two years ago, with the music video filmed in Bali last year — but now it’s officially out. Lyrically, the Azeri singer tells us that integrity is key to our personal development and that true peace has to come from within: “Don’t look outside, don’t look… / It’s all in / Don’t fall for it, don’t fall for that / Right in it / Wake up, wake up, wake up in it…”

Mia Dimšić – Društvena pravila

Mia Dimšić has unveiled her fifth studio album. It brings together many of the Croatian language singles she’s released over the past few years. But there is also a selection of new tracks. This includes the title song, “Društvena pravila” (“Social rules”), which the Eurovision 2022 performer has shared a lyric video for. The song features Macedonian ethno-rock jazz fusion guitar player Vlatko Stefanovski.

zalagasper – “liter sladoleda”

“open a bucket of ice cream and enjoy life” — that’s the latest life lesson zalagasper bring us. Slovenia’s Eurovision 2019 duo give their minimalist indie pop style a sweet touch with “liter sladoleda” (“litre of ice cream”). Gašper leads the vocals, singing about how he doesn’t need anything in life other than Zala: “If there are nights without you, I don’t want them / If there are parties without you, I don’t want them / If there is love without you, I don’t want it / I just want a pint of ice cream and your smile.”

Which of these new songs is your favourite? Have we missed out on any? Do you have any artists you want to shout out to? Let us know in the comments.

Eden Golan – Older
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cnDFaiwojQ
I think you ‘missed’ one, especially from someone who came 5th in Eurovision.
You ignore Israelis now, but when you’ll try to go back to how it used to be, those people won’t forget how you treated them. Shameful move.

The parts with the helmets are very strong.
Playing while building a shield around them.

Older is again a very strong song, with a gentle beautiful melody.

So if wiwi is a Eurovision music website, Wiwi could just include Eden Golan’s new song.
But maybe Wiwi just forgot and will include it in next week’s list.

It’s quite unfortunate Wiwibloggs will forever ignore anything from Israel now. I knew they wouldn’t mention Older by Eden Golan. All because she represented Israel. Very political of you.

Her song is a spit in the face to the 16,000 Plstnian souls that never got to grow “older.” Lending insult to injury, she’s in the IDF now.

You on the contrary are part of the problem.

Would you mention a song from any Palestinian singer if by any chance Palestine were to take part of it, the same way that Israel first did in 1973? Would you? I don’t think you would …

It’s about Wiwi does. They pretend to be a Eurovision music blog, so mentioning the new song of Eden Golan would be the right thing to do.

Jerry Heil, nice idea of the broken pottery.
I like the lyrics, but the song is too loud, and the video is too graphic I think, with the sword..
