It reminds me of “we care a lot” by Faith no more. It’s a bit repetitive but not bad.

When a country returns to the contest you always hope they do well so they know it was worth it and hopefully stick around.

Sadly think this is a guaranteed NQ

Can’t say it’s a sure NQ. If they go full on Croatia 2023 in staging, get the right mix of countries in the semi, they could squeak in against in semi-final composed of ballads, generic europop and 3-4 real contenders that get all the 8-12 points.

as Montenegro is in general one of my fave countries my personal advice for these guys would be, study and watch Croatia 2023 Mama SC performance, go wackier with the performance is what i would advise, perfect those vocals song wise it is quite basic, but the performance already looked like it has some potential, i rather wish them to be another Mama SC than another Circus Mircus flop one good thing they have going for them is native language, since ethno entries tend to qualify in 100% televote semi system, that and if an entry is a good representation… Read more »

I’m not convinced on this one. Points for putting some effort into the presentation, but this sounds like just another generic rock song. I just don’t see them making it out of the semis.

Not a strong start of the season.

I’m afraid this is not it. I would have loved to see Montenegro qualify for once, but this most likely won’t do.

Well, all of the Songs would’ve been a NQ. Montenegro barely qualifies with their chosen entries. We all knew that from the beginning…

The competition would have to be extremely weak for Montenegro to qualify, but again this is only the first entry so far. We have a long way to go before we can make predictions of who’s gonna qualify or not

Grattis to the winners! The song is not bad – it reminds me of Malta 2023 and a David Bowie song put together but in Montenegrin. The most interesting thing imo is the name of the band which is a palindrome. I enjoyed watching the show. The intro looked quality, the 16 performances mostly elevated the studio versions, the staging looked like a lot of effort was put into it, the greenu roomu conversations seemed fun, re la x ed and p rofes sional. I do wonder however about the seemingly low number of vo te s as read elsewhere… Read more »

The two eyes two different colours thing, they could do something clever with that concept for the The Festival performance and staging.
My winner was “Repeat”, the song is really good and performance was so cheeky I just loved it.

Now that the season has officially started, I have to ask this question… When will they announce the official participating countries list? If I remember well, they usually do it in the second half of October or at the very beginning of November, right? It’s November 28th… I hope it’s because some countries are currently in discussion with EBU for a possible participation (North Macedonia, Romania, perhaps even Monaco according to some media).

I think the main issue with this national final is extremely low viewing of the show. In comparison, the winner of Serbia’s national final in 2018 had 12k votes, while here the winner didn’t even have 500 votes. Most regular people didn’t even watch the show and I think including international jury was a huge mistake.

This is a bad choice. Yes, the live performance is good, but damn the song is flat, it literally doesn’t have any impact on me while listening to it. I don’t think this will qualify, and I did say Mama SC and No Rules would qualify at Eurovision in comparison. This is much like Bulgaria/Georgia 2022.

I am aware that Montenegro is a small country. I am aware that ESC is not very popular there. But the fact that the public winner had less than 500 votes just stuns me! The worst song of the evening (performed by the bend Glumci) was 5th in televote just Because friends and family from 6 members voted for them. Baryak and Neon got first and second place just because they were groups and not solo artists. This just does not feel fair or OK to me.

I don’t get the negativity. For me it was a clear stand out among a sea of bland ballads and over dramatic perfomances. It was different. Fun. Energetic. Woke me up for sure. Probably the only song I will remember from this selection whereas I struggle to even hum the rest.
The best choice was made, good luck!

Well, to be fair, Baryak did win the televote, but they and the jury favorite Nina were cancelled out by lower scores in the other category, and Clickbait was the runner up for both Jury and Televote, so their combined score, 20 points, was the highest. Isak, though, as much as I liked his song, his performance was a flop because he was stiff with minimal charisma.
