The Eurovision 2025 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2024 | Week 48 part 2

With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 1 here.

Nutsa – “ერთად Forever”

We kick off the second part of this week’s roundup with a powerful song hailing from Georgia, performed by Nutsa, who proudly represented her country in this year’s edition. Her track, “Together Forever,” carries a delightful retro dance vibe and will be featured on her forthcoming album, Chameleon.

The album is set to showcase the multifaceted layers of her music, described as “a journey of transformation, exploration, and self-discovery — like a chameleon.” Nutsa fully embraces change, seamlessly blending genres, sounds, and emotions to create a cohesive and compelling body of work. The album promises to be a bold statement on growth, self-acceptance, and the fluidity of self-expression, all delivered through a vibrant mix of rhythms, raw lyrics, and dynamic melodies. About her upcoming album, Nutsa declared:

“My upcoming album, Chameleon, is a big step for me. It’s not just another collection of songs—it’s a reflection of who I am and how I’ve grown. The title Chameleon is a symbol of change, transformation, and embracing all the different sides of myself. Like a chameleon, I’ve adapted to different sounds, moods, and experiences, and I wanted the music to reflect that fluidity.”

Victoria – “RATATA”

Victoria, the bassist of Måneskin — the iconic Italian rock band that won Eurovision in 2021 — has been exploring a solo journey as a DJ. Her latest track is an electrifying track guaranteed to get you moving straight to the dance floor.

The accompanying music video captures the essence of fun and freedom, featuring a montage of Victoria enjoying life with her friends and fans. Filmed in vibrant São Paulo, the video radiates energy, perfectly matching the upbeat vibe of the track.

iolanda & Marisa Liz – “Contratempo”

This year, Portugal was represented by iolanda, and now she is back with an exciting new collaboration with Marisa Liz, the lead vocalist of the popular Portuguese rock band Amor Electro. Their latest song, “Counterclockwise,” is a powerful ballad that is both emotional and captivating, accompanied by a visually stunning music video.

The song speaks to the intense feeling of being madly in love with someone, so much so that you wish you could turn back time and run straight into their arms. The poignant lyrics capture this longing perfectly: “Because my heart runs counterclockwise/ I want so many things/ I want everything at the same time.”

Il Volo – Ad Astra (International Edition)

Il Volo, the beloved trio who stole hearts representing Italy at Eurovision 2015, continues to charm fans worldwide. Having graced Festival di Sanremo multiple times since, they competed this year with the stunning “Capolavoro” (Work of Art). Following their Sanremo appearance, they released the album Ad Astra in March — a collection of original songs (including their Sanremo entry) and well-chosen covers. Now, the trio is back with an international edition of the album.

The expanded version of Ad Astra features 16 tracks, blending Il Volo’s signature style with timeless classics. Alongside the original tracks, listeners can enjoy renditions of “Now We Are Free” from Gladiator, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” (popularized by Jeff Buckley in 1994), and Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence”. The album also includes a heartfelt collaboration with Pretty Yende on “Amazing Grace” (a Christmas hymn written by the poet John Newton in 1772, published 1779), and an English version of their Sanremo song “Capolavoro.”

Hatari – “Breadcrumbs”

Hatari, the bold Icelandic band that made a lasting impression at Eurovision 2019, are back with new music that continues to push boundaries. Known for their unique blend of techno and industrial punk rock, they return with a fresh sound that their fans are sure to love. Their newest track delivers a powerful message: no matter how difficult or dark times may be, there is always a moment when they will pass.

Arlinea Ara & Pirro Çako – “ZERO GRADË”

Arilena Ara, the globally renowned Albanian star who was set to represent her country at Eurovision 2020 before its cancellation, has joined forces with Pirro Çako, a celebrated Albanian singer-songwriter and composer. While Pirro has never competed in Eurovision, he won Festivali i Këngës in 1988 as a composer — a festival that has become Albania’s national selection for Eurovision.

Their new collaboration called “Zero Degrees,” is a heartfelt ballad crafted by Pirro Çako for the 2024 edition of the Albanian music festival Kënga Magjike. The song’s lyrics delve into themes of love and longing, with questions such as: “Do you believe in love returns?/ If you hear the heartbeat, whose name do you hear?/ If you are in the dark, in whom do you find the sparkle in your eyes?”

Fiorella Mannoia feat. Francesca Michielin & Federica Abbate – “La storia non si deve ripetere”

A powerful female trio from Italy is ready to captivate audiences. Francesca, who represented Italy at Eurovision 2016, has remained a familiar face at Festival di Sanremo — Italy’s renowned music festival that selects its Eurovision entries — having participated as a contestant, special guest, and even as an orchestra conductor. Joining her are Fiorella, a legendary icon of the Italian music scene and a familiar name among Eurovision fans through her Sanremo appearances, and Federica, who previously competed in Sanremo Giovani.

Their latest release, “History Must Not Repeat Itself,” is a commanding anthem of resilience and strength. The trio’s harmonies blend seamlessly, delivering a message of empowerment with breath-taking emotion.

The song is about offering support and helping others in times of need, with touching lyrics that resonate with anyone who has ever felt lonely or in need of assistance — offering a sense of comfort, like a hug.

As Trijntje explains, the song is a call to be there for each other, especially in these challenging times when “the world is on fire.” This beautiful track is also her Christmas song, created in collaboration with the Red Cross to raise awareness and combat food poverty affecting some people in the Netherlands.

O.Torvald – “Косяк”

The Ukrainian rock band O.Torvald, who proudly represented their country at Eurovision in 2017, has just released a brand new song titled “Joint.” This track is a powerful rock ballad that delves into the internal struggle of fighting with one’s own demons. The poignant lyrics reflect a sense of vulnerability and yearning: “I am just smoke in the space of action/ And you/ Breathe me in, breathe in/ Hold me, don’t let go/ Every time to the fullest.” About their newest song, the band said:

“Sometimes, in order to continue living, you need to reset and say goodbye to your past, kill all your demons. Rock music is created to fight. Including with yourself.”

Tom Sean feat. We Are Domi – “Novocaine Rush”

After taking a “Dopamine Overdose” at ESCZ 2024, Tom Sean is now on a “Novocaine Rush.” The track features on the singer’s new album, STEREO MADNESS, and features We Are Domi, who represented the Czechia at Eurovision 2022. It’s an epic and energetic electronic track, designed to lift your spirits and get you back on the dancefloor, serving as a musical remedy for life’s challenges — just like a rush of Novocaine.

PAENDA – “One More Time”

PAENDA, who represented Austria at Eurovision 2019, returns with an inspiring new pop track that celebrates the beauty of life in all its highs and lows. In this heartfelt song, she reflects on her journey and confesses that, given the chance to live again, she wouldn’t change a thing, embracing who she has become. About the message of the song, PAENDA said:

“I don’t know how many times I’ve been asked if I regret certain things I’ve done in my life – my answer is this song!”

Aleksander Walmann & Karianne – “Når himmelen faller ned”

Aleksander, who represented Norway at Eurovision 2017 alongside JOWST, returns with a stunning winter ballad titled “When the Sky Falls Down.” The song was first released by Anne Grete Preus in 1998. This serene collaboration with Karianne is a perfect seasonal track, filled with warmth and tranquillity. The song’s title serves as a beautiful metaphor for snow, capturing the quiet magic of winter. Aleksander and Karianne’s voices blend harmoniously, creating an atmosphere of comfort and peace.

Sinplus – “Bad Song”

We wrap up this week’s roundup with a heartfelt ballad from Sinplus, the duo who represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2012. Despite its title, the song is anything but a bad song. It explores the struggle of expressing deep emotions, conveying how words often fall short when trying to articulate feelings for someone who feels close, even from afar: “I’m not stranded in the darkness/ The darkness dies in your smile/ I’m never alone even when you’re not with me/ You make far away alright.” The overarching message of the track? “We didn’t make it perfect…we made it real.”

Tina Karol & NORD DIVISION – “Ветерани”

Tina, who represented Ukraine in Eurovision 2006, has teamed up with NORD DIVISION for a powerful new track titled “Veterans.” This deeply emotional rap piece pays tribute to Ukraine and the strength of its people. Tina’s stirring vocals add a poignant touch, making the song an unforgettable experience. The track spans an epic 12 minutes, allowing ample room to honour the sacrifices of Ukraine’s war veterans.

Released to coincide with Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day on 6 December, “Veterans” is a heartfelt celebration of the bravery and dedication of those who defend the country. NORD DIVISION, the Ukrainian rap group behind the collaboration, was founded in 2023 and comprises five members, all active military personnel. Their music resonates strongly with the military and patriotic youth, embodying the values of freedom and independence. This track is a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity of the Ukrainian people. About her collaboration, Tina stated:

“It is a great honour for me to sing with such courageous guys from NORD DIVISION and to join the development of Ukrainian rap culture thanks to this collaboration.”

Can we also get the rest of the holiday songs by Eurovision singers released so far? Why wait till just before christmas to let us enjoy them? I want to enjoy them all of December…. you already have shared the Alexander Walmann song now, which is a cover of a song that is actually considered a christmas song here in Norway now. So just share them as they are released instead of waiting far into christmas season….

Other than that, i really appreciate the effort put into these Sunday articles of new releases! Many good songs indeed!

I was wondering why the song title sounded familiar. Didn’t Alexandra Rotan (KEiiNO) sing that a few years ago?

I think Austria should think about Paenda and her song to represent them again next year cause it’s a really really good track which would fit Eurovision perfectly and could do very well imo, moreover she has an exceptional voice. As the trend of the next edition seems to be the returning artists seeing Melfest, SanRemo, Fik line-ups and other rumors for others countries, so after all why not Austria with Paenda too.

I like the new song from Iolanda & Marisa Liz – “Contratempo” very much.

Hatari disappointed me. I hope David leaves the band in 2025 because the band has went more capitalist and lost fans’ authenticity. The band has also originally promised that they would not write songs in English to prevent capitalism.

Oh, there was never any ‘authenticity’ to Hatari.
