Baby Lasagna took Croatia to new highs at Eurovision in 2024, releasing a global hit and winning the public vote. And now producers at state broadcaster HRT have the challenging task of finding an act to follow all that glory.

They received 221 songs and, following an internal listening process, have culled the list to just 24 songs for the national selection Dora 2025. The songs and artists are…

Croatia: The 24 acts in Dora 2025

Ananda – Lies Lay Cold

EoT – Bye, Bye, Bye

Filomena – Strong

Irma – Enigma

IVXN – Monopol

Jelena Radan – Salut!

Lara feat LSQ – Mama

laurakojapjeva – NPC

Lelek – The Soul of my Soul

Luka Nižetić – Južina

Magazin – AaAaA

Marin Jurić Čivro – Gorjelo je

Marko Bošnjak – Poison Cake

Marko Tolja – Through the dark

Marko Škugor – Šta da Boga molim ja

Martha May – Running to the Light

Matt Shaft – Welcome to the circus

Natalie Balmix – Život Ide Dalje

Natalli – Dom si srcu mom

Nipplepeople – Znak

Ogenj – Daj, daj

Petar Brkljačić – Kraj

Supersonic Trio – Animal

Teenah – Aurora

As you’ll recall, Baby Lasagna only got to compete last year after another artist withdrew. So the list of reserves is of major interest. This year’s back-up artists, who will compete in the event another act withdraws or can’t compete, are…

Swingers – “Ful Kul”

Fenksta – “Ekstra”

Patricia Gasparini – “Karma”

llyricum – “Tananai”

Croatia is one of the countries with highest percentage of songs in own language sent to Eurovision. Fact that last year was in English does not change the statistic. Get you facts straight before making comments

Not sure if people will agree with me or not but Dora last year was very disappointing. Baby Lasagna was an exception and that’s why he won. I just can’t forget all those embarrassing amateurish mistakes singers were making and the worst sound mix that was done by HRT “experts”. I really hope this year at least they fix all the technical issues prior to Dora. And I hope the artists are able to sing their songs live. I also hope Baby Lasagna was not just once in a 10-20 years experience for Croatia. I really hope Croatia starts sending… Read more »

Marko Bosnjak is Dora’s 2nd place from 2022, so he is probably aiming for a win this time, and English language title means he’s targeting ESC chance for sure.

gives me more Kedzo – Angels and Demons effort vibes 😉

not like you have to sing in english to go to ESC, we don’t have to listen to the dictators of United Kingdom with their disgusting english language

Really? “Angels and demons” are words used in way too many songs, it points at unoriginal song and there’s no way that song was exception to that. “Poison cake” can give you anything BUT that same vibe, so you gota think before you write something like that. And these downvotes of analysis are so funny, like…hello kids who visit wiwibloggs without parents consent -.-

Poison is also a song by Alice Cooper, Nicole Scherzinger

quite generic words either

I just hope they will not f*** up the voting like this year. BL would’ve won either way, but if you watch the revealing of the points, you’ll notice it wasn’t 50:50 public-juries (as it should habe been and as it is in the propositions/rules of the contest).
HRT better hire a math expert to explain to them how this concept works (tho a middle school kid can do it just as well).

It absolutely was 50/50 jury/televote. Just the kind of that system where televote points are counted proportionally to the percentages of the televotes received, in this case, they had 58*8=464 jury points, so they had to distribute 464 televote points too (463 in this case, due to rounding, it almost always happens). Just Baby Lasagna scored so many televotes that the margin betwen him and others became absolutely impossible to overpower for juries. So, that system can be different, absolute power of televoters in cases like this… or power of juries if the televotes are really close in the top.… Read more »

I don’t follow your logic, I’m sorry. They tried to implement the ESC voting/scoring system and failed miserably. I am surprised there wasn’t a scandal around it, but I suppose everyone was too excited by RTTD which was the best song indeed. For a 50:50 system to make sense you must have the same amount of points from jury as well as from the public. You are right about that there was 8 × 58 = 464 points for each. Practically speaking, the most valued song by juries could get 96 points max. For the above mentioned system to work,… Read more »

Not sure if you guys are aware but reservist Fenksta is actually an active member of r/eurovision and has been organically making songs themselves from scratch for a while now. Fingers crossed they somehow get in!

River dance with great voices and traditional Croatian. The stage drowns many songs but this blasts the stage. Keep an eye out for them
