See you in Basel, Nina Zizic!
On Sunday Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG confirmed that Nina will replace NeonoeN as the country’s Eurovision 2025 singer. She’ll perform “Dobrodošli,” which translates to “Welcome.” And she is most definitely welcome.
It’s been a circuitous route back to the song contest for the Eurovision 2013 alum.
At the end of November Nina finished second at Montesong 2024, losing to NeonoeN by just one point. That’s despite topping the jury vote and coming fourth with the public.
It soon emerged, however, that NeonoeN had performed their song “Clickbait” prior to September 1, thereby breaching EBU rules. RTCG consulted with the EBU about what to do and the band said they would accept their fate. But in the end the four-piece rock group decided to pull the plug on the Eurodrama themselves and withdrew.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the official Montesong account wished Nina luck and told her to celebrate and laugh, adding: “Preparations begin soon. The next stop is Basel!”
We do hope there will be some stops at the pre-parties in between, including the London Eurovision Party on 13 April 2025.
Are you excited that Nina will fly the Montenegrin flag in May? Let us know down below!
This is definitely not just another meaningless song with bland lyrics, but will she be able to convey the message of the song to those who don’t understand the ex-YU languages?
Montenegro’s national has been a shambles. They failed to properly vet the entries, resulting in Neonoen having to withdraw. The show ran 3 hours when it could have easily run 2 – it took 40 minutes from the start until we saw our first contestant. Emmelie de Forest was obviously not getting translation, and looked totally lost. Painfully obviously, nobody had prepped her on name and title pronunciation, as she struggled with the song titles in the voting segment. Lack of preparation, lack of coordination, and a result that was cast into doubt within days – Montenegro could have done… Read more »
Ok
Much, much better than NeonoeN. Now Muntenegro has strong chances of qualifying.
Sorry..awful..they can’t be bothered to send proper song…what is this..joke??? Don’t the have creative song writers and good performers?? Or can’t afford it? Honestly this disgrace..it’s supposed to be eurovision big show, why bother to send something like this…embarrassment…
Crna Gora 9/12
ESC 2025 WINNER
lol
… so far
tbh the song is meh it needs a big revamp to qualify
Like it a lot
Jesus, this black n white article pic looks like it was just announced she passed away… change it, pls!
certainly better choice.. now a revamp here would actually make sense.. with a bit of luck, they actually may get to the final, and with an impeccable staging (think Ireland 2024) they may end up top 10
a nice start with my favourite as the first revealed entry 🙂
now hopefully Czechia send Civilni Obrana’s Vlasta to Basel, if i am correct about that one, the length fits 3.03
hoping Samu Haber is competing in finland’s UMK
would love Klara Hammarstrom for Sweden (long overdue if u ask me)
Poland i’d rather had a internal for JoJo Siwa but they keep being them i guess
No Jojo Siwa for Poland please or she would bash artists in Eurovision. I would like to see John Lundvik for Sweden .
jojo siwa for poland, are you mental?
Fine but they would’ve replace Easyjet with the new airline sponsor in 2026 with more reliable workers. Easyjet can be unreliable most of the times and I hope Nina won’t fly with it.
Ok What Ever EasyJet Is A Good Company Who Prowide Holidays To Poor People , Its Good To Have Them To Be A Sponsorship And They Are Very Smart
No, they support Russia and Israel in Eurovision to have them as a sponsor. They never support Eurovision artists who are traveling and they are unreliable. They are political and should be removed as a sponsor immediately in 2026.
This airline does never provide holidays for poor people but to provide them for rich people and for Martin O. Just they need to be removed as a sponsor soon as possible and immediately in 2026. Worst sponsor ever. Duh.
You Are Probaly A Rich Elitist Who Hates Poor People Traveling On Holiday
No, they have been supporting Israel and Russia at Eurovision over the years and likes politics in Eurovision. They were the ones that Israel having 323 points.
Worst Eurovision Ever.
(joke)
Lolololol
I think Montenegro have a chance to qualify if they work on the staging. Definitely keep it in Montenegrin! Nina is a very good performer!
Wow Its A Shocked Choice To Make , It Is Clear Montenegro Telewisions And People Of Montenegro Have No Ears . The Results Of A MonteSong Was So Corrupted And Its A Joke . The Best Was Scored So Bad And It Was A Big Scandal For People Who Understand A Music Knowledge Like Come On Seriously . Dolce Hera Should Probably Sue Because I Think The Corrupted Officials Screwed Her Over Really Bad And It Is Not Ok For “Nina” To Steal A Spotlight From Her , Or The Originale Corrupted Winner Because At Least Neomeom Had A Courage… Read more »
People saying this def won’t qualify and it’s DOA are kinda delusional in my opinion, it’s quite the strong “balkan ballad”, it has certain “Bond-esque” vibes to it. Idk, it could do well. Definitely not DOA, not even close to it.
Did You Miss A Perscription Or Something Its The Worse Thing I Heard
The only reason I would need prescription drugs is cuz of how toxic the eurofandom is.
Then Take Them ? If Internet Coments Are So Troubled To You , I Recomend A Medication As Soon As Possible
Y’all what is it with this community? You complained about NeonoeN now you’re complaining about Nina, like just be happy yeesh
You must be new here
Theres a reason I’m avoiding it more and more, after last year? I don’t need the headache anymore.
“topping the televote and coming fourth with the public” – That is the same thing. I think you mean topping the jury poll.
Snoozfest. Chances to qualify sit at zero percent unless the Balkan vote somehow carries this to the final like they did with Serbia and Slovenia last year.
Exactly last year the three Balkan countries allowed in the same semi Shame on Eurovision Team
It’s definitely NOT zero.
Eurovision bubble is all for Nina, but I think Baryak would have a chance to overall end up higher, just as televoting results prove.
But it is Dobrodosli for 2025. Good luck Montenegro!
Haven’t read the comments here have you?
Baryak would’ve literally been Gåte 2.0, but Ulveham is far superior.
well, the dime a dozen balkan ballad fans must be happy now, but I have severe doubts as to whether it will Q
Ramonda also qualified in 100% televote in 2024
same goes for Bridges in 2023
and it’s stronger than Ramonda tbh, more of a power ballad feel already
both songs got 10th in the semi tho
Dobrodosli is quite similar to “Proud” by Tamara Todevska (North Macedonia 2019) and that song would’ve qualified with televote only Semi-Final in 2019 (remember that Semi-Final 2 in that year was pretty tough to be honest), so for now I’m feeling pretty confident Montenegro might make it to the Grand Final. It all depends on the other countries in the Semi-Final and the song quality, so we’ll see
What makes you say that?
She is the best choice.
The song can be revamped to enhance its power and she could repeat a “North Macedonia 2019” success.
Good luck for Montenegro
Well, well, well… Montenegro being Montenegro… I have nothing against Nina, she is very VERY talented, but her song didn’t click with me that’s why I was happy for NeonoeN cause it would have brought something really new and original for Montenegro. Now I’m not that bitter so congratulations to Nina. To come in Eurovision in this context must not be really evident for her knowing why she can come in Eurovision and some Eurofans will be rude to her I guess because of that. Now this “drama” pre contest is only an eurofans thing, the general public doesn’t care,… Read more »
I am happy Nina is going to Eurovision. Btw there was nothing new and original in NeonoeNs entry. Just another NQer. Nina has a better chance to bring Montenegro a nice result.
It would have been new and original from Montenegro standards in Eurovision.
It’s not like Nina Zilic offers something new and original either…
We don’t know how both entries would fare if they went now.
I wasn’t going to say anything because I wanted to give NeonoeN a chance, but I felt like Nina was the choice from the beginning and am so happy that it’s finally been confirmed! A revamp could also wipe away any doubts about qualification.
This is not good. She should have had some integrity and withdrawn, since she didn’t actually win. At least she won’t qualify with that generic ballad. Respect to all the other artists who stood with NeonoeN. Shame on Nina for not doing the right thing.
yk that neonoen wasn’t disqualified and that the EBU did not even make a decision yet, right?
exactly, the guys from Neonoen just lacked the ambition for ESC, and used Montesong solely as a publicity stunt, so pure clickbait (pun intended)
You must be one of those against ballads and enjoy the usual crap. This is a masterpiece!
Yes she was the 2nd winner, and I am very happy we are not going to listen to that NQ song from NeonoeN.
Then who would go?
Well if you love run of the mill generic Balkan ballad then this is your day.
She can at least sell it well enough. But seeing how she failed to reach people ‘s top three it’s more intriguing to see if they support her
She missed it by only 13 sms votes, but also winner won less than 500 sms votes and for all 16 artist only less than 2000 sms votes were sent in total. 2000 is a very small # for Eurovision standards, that doesn’t tells us much tbh
Great voice but it’s just another ordinary ballad. Nothing orginal
I think Montenegro can qualify. People won’t remember this drama.
I agree with you
There was no drama. Just a human mistake which everyone peacefully acknowledged and moved on.
People on other websites are calling it a ‘drama’.
Nina’s good live. This should work well for them. Still very early days with the competition obviously, so there is also potential for revamps.
One can *never* go wrong with a well performed Balkan ballad. Based on the stage performance in Montesong, I expect an extraordinary show in Basel. If so, it could well go through into the GF. Great to see Crna Gora back!!!
If I’m being honest, with Nina, Montenegro has the best chances to quality since 2015. I hope they revamped the song and work on the staging.
With 100% televote in the semi I think the opposite but we’ll see. Eurovision is unpredictable.
I love Nina ‘s song very much !! Good luck in Basel !!
Classic Eurovision song/singer, good luck. It’s not my kind of music so it’s too hard to judge it, that’s it for now.
I love this ballad! Very James bondish. My kind of balkan entry.
12points
I’m not excited that Nina will fly the Montenegrin flag in May.
Ooo bold font.
Well, noone cares about how you feel.
Thank you Montengro!!
Crna Gora 9/12
She is a stronger pick than Neonoen. I wish that they’d improve on staging because there’s not a lot going on to keep the audience watching in the middle half. In some parts of the live performance she does hit a bum note, but that’s not something she can’t work on by the time she’s in Basel. Do I think “Dobro došli” can qualify? Absolutely
I hope so
Phenomenal Nina is back, she has a song of her career. That is gonna be unforgettable performance in Basel. This is a great choice from Montenegro, what a comeback. Hello 2025!! Hopefully we see NeonoeN in future too. Come on Montenegro!!
Happy Montenegro is back and although this circumstances, I wish the best for the great song of Nina Zizic!
