There’s been a bit of confusion about how Festivali i Këngës 2025 voting will work. So our Erdi Tejeci — who recently interviewed FiK 63 artistic director Elhaida Dani — reached out to her again to get clarification on how the results will be determined.

How does #FiK63 voting work in Albania?

As you already know, 50% of the voting will be determined by the jury and 50% by the public.

There are seven jurors and each juror will award 12 points, 10 points, 8 points, and then 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1, per Eurovision style. The maximum amount of points that any artist can receive from the jury is 84 points. That would be equivalent to seven sets of 12 points — a clean sweep.

There are a total of 406 points to be awarded by the juries. (58 points per juror).

The public vote is calculated by percentage, with a maximum score of 406 points. So if an artist received 100% of the televote, that would equate to 406 points. If an artist received 50% of the televote, then they would receive 203 points.

The televote itself is comprised of two halves: the domestic televote (Albania and Kosovo), and the diaspora televote from everywhere else. Each of these counts for 50% of the televote score. They will be added together to determine the overall televote score.

That means the overall result is determined by…

  • 50% jury
  • 25% domestic televote
  • 25% diaspora televote

This is what they did this year at Dora. (I wrote about it in the Dora thread). This is NOT a 50-50 jury-public sytem AT ALL. Public vote here weights more and it differs from the ESC voting/scoring system the HRT was supposedly implementing.

I wonder what happened to this, as this wasn’t the voting system used. The jury votes totalled 406, but the two sets of public votes did not. Seemed more like a (very rough estimate) of 70/30 split.

Sorry, but the jury has way too much power! It should be 33%.

I agree, but in this case they might stop Elvana from winning, and that will be the best possible outcome cause she is just not the best out of banch but her fans will binge vote for her despite her song is this weak and generic, and her zumba aerobic movies just proved she is not a good performer – a good performer is someone like Chanel, that’s a dancer, not this.

Splitting the televote into two is NOT a good option. It means the jury favourite will obviously win because the televote winners might be seperate for each 25%.

It’s always the same, stacked in favour of the jury.

Say its a close 3 way race, 26%, 25% 24% etc

Jury gives
A – 12
B – 10
C – 8

Public are the other way around, 24%, 25%, 26%
A – 14
B – 14
C – 15

Final scores
A – 26
B – 24
C – 23

Same order as the jury ranked them, so public didnt effect the result at all.
Winning the jury vote is rewarded more than winning the televote.

Ok ty it’s clearer. I thought there will be an international jury too but apparently not.

She will win the televote I think, but the jury not sure, we don’t really know the jury criteria but I don’t feel Karnaval is a jury friendly song. Not very vocally demanding, BUT to dance and sing at the same time should be awarded too, like Ardit too though, so we can’t predict in fact and it’s cool there will have suspense tonight.

it was a shame she couldn’t follow here own choreography and be “awardeed for dancing and singing at the same time”
