Greece’s state broadcaster ERT received 187 submissions for its Eurovision 2025 selection show. As our friends at GPS to Music report, a five-member committee — whose names will only be revealed after the final — listened to the songs and have now chosen just 12 for the national final.

They’ll face off live on Thursday, January 30 at the Christmas Theater in the Indoor Olympic Center in Galatsi. Sakis Rouvas and Elena Paparizou will host, with stage legend Fokas Evangelinos overseeing creative direction.

Greece: ERT reveals 12 songs and artists for national final

The voting in Greece will consist of three portions: the televoting public (50%), and then two juries — one international and one national — which together will account for 50%.

I’m happy with this selection! I spoke though the years on with Evangelia, she had some songs over the years she wanted to enter but never got the real oppertunity. A national final is the best, so now people can really see the competition and may the best win! I’m with you guys also love Klavdia, Xannova Xan and Barbz gives me Ellie Goulding vibes

This selection is super nice!!!!!!!!! I like all songs except “Vale”. My faves are “Unhurt me”, Nafsika conveys emotion very beautifully, the lyrics are nice, and the melody sounds sounds familiar and safe but fresh as well, and then “Elevator”, it sounds super super fun – melody and lyrics and it’s so danceable. And then I also like a lot “Paradisos”, “Sirens” and “High Road”.
Now I have to save the date, I thought it was going to be a The Festivalless evening.

So literally just choosing to hate on the fan favourite just like that? So stereotypical some toxic fans. LoL.

OK, after a day of listening to the songs on and off, this is my verdict. MY FAVOURITE: Sirens by BARBZ, I don’t think it will win and if it did, it would not score well in ESC TELEVOTING WINNER: Paradisos (their vocals are strong live and the song is familiar, all Greek and will score well among most audiences) or Vále (she is very popular among younger Tik Tok audiences). INTERNATIONAL JURY WINNER: it’s going to be between Klavdia and Evangelia (more into Klavdia’s Asteromáta I guess) GREEK JURY WINNER: Paradisos might score well and Klavdia, too. Who will… Read more »

I love the sing Asteromata sung by Klavdia very much. It’s my favorite and I hope she will win the ticket to Basel.

Odyssey or Asteromata. Evangelia’s song sounds a little bit messy to me. I would prefer if she kept the traditional elements throughout the song.

I still feel so weird to me That Greece is doing a national final when I’ve been so used to them doing internal selections year after year. OK they did do a one artist multiple song national fun with Demi in 2017, although I didn’t really pay attention to that, and they did try to have a national final in 2018, but it ended up being an internal selection by default with two of the artists’ record company’s didn’t wanna pay the fee to participate.

My 4 standouts:
Vale
Odyssey
Asteromata
Play it
I got an interesting experience listening Vale the first time, at the beginning I thought Angèle is that you, when it builds I though Elvana is that you, and this mix with cultural elements makes me think of Marina and overall it gives us Evangelia. Great song as Karnaval Eurocup song vibes, very anthemic
Odyssey it’s in your face and I like that.
Asteromata is beautiful and delicate.
Play it is fun and catchy.

Well done, Greece! That’s a definitely good and interesting final. The sound is diverse and we can expect a lot from the artists. My ranking is as follows Andy Nicholas 7 (no wow effect) Barbz 8,5 (stands out) Evangelia 8,5 (stands out) Nafsika 7 (no wow effect) Dinamiss 8 (stands out) Thanos Labrou 6 (no wow effect) RIKKI 8 (might be a dark horse, its very cute and catchy, not for the win, though) Christoforou & Karafotis 7,5 (Greek televoting might go for this, familiar sound) Georgina Kalais ft Vlasseros 5 (no wow effect) Xannova Xan 8 (there’s something in… Read more »

Does anyone else hear the similarity between Sirens and Time from Inception? I don’t mean it as an insult – it’s a good song, but I can’t stop thinking about it.

It’s pretty safe to say that Greece will either nq this year or will finish bottom 10 in the final. I think the Greek site EuroHall nailed it in their commentary on 12 selected songs.

i fear so, and i’m greek. i really want Klavdia to represent us but i don’t think that people will like the song as much as greeks do. The other two popular songs (Sirens and Vále) are too similar with Time and Pepas which is off putting for me. good luck to all the artists

I’m not kidding when I’m saying that Klavdia has the only entry that with a proper staging, has the potential to carry us into the final. It’s also the only strong contender we have this year. Definitely won’t be in the top 10 but at least we’ll qualify. Maybe we aslo have a chance with Evangelia but that’s due to her popularity in Europe. Other than that, the rest of the selections are yet another reason why ERT should absolutely get a board member change YESTERDAY.

Greek final lineup and songs are good overall. Quite half of the songs are catchy and interesting. Then, it’s the vocals, performance and staging to decide the winner. Good luck, Greece! Good job!

Remembering our latest National Finals, this is much better than I feared. Glad to see ERT choosing entries like ?????????? or ?? ??? to appeal to a wider greek audience, which they haven’t really cared doing in the past. At this point it is a bit clear that Evangelia or Klavdia (followed by Xannova Xan, Barbz and Dinamiss) will fight for the win, and their staging will be crucial. I don’t know if they are planning a revamp, but both these entries do have elements that could secure Greece a good final spot. Good luck to everybody! P.s. I would… Read more »

I agree with you on Elevator!! Its a song that will easily be remembered in any place on a recap video. With proper staging ( maybe an elevator box ?) like Ollies last year with loys of close ups, it can be a real surprise and stand out.

Most songs are above average and with a traditional element. Good job, Greece! I feel there are 3-4 for the win but we have to wait for the final. For me Odyssey, Vale and Sirens are the best.

I am getting 7/10 vibes from this selection. A few songs will do alright and possibly get a top 10, but nothing really stands out to me, indeed quite a few tracks felt a bit same-y, a bit more musical diversity would have been nice. There are also a couple of big misses unfortunately.

Song-wise the Greek selection is interesting and has 3 or 4 songs that stand out. Let’s wait for the final, to judge the vocals (many might flop vocally), overall performance and staging. Excited so far!

The shock Greek Eurofans will get when Klavdia flops badly in Eurovision. Remember: your taste is really different than Europes. And then we ll get one more year of “you dont like greek songs”.

Barbs, Xannova and Evangelia have much better chances in Eurovision.

Better to send something that actually represents our taste then than send something that’a not US and risk it just to suit Europe’s taste more. Klavdia’s song is more Greek than anything else on the list. Followed by Evangelia and the two Kostantinoi.

we won’t be surprised, we’ve seen this film before. But at the end of the day it’s what Greek people like the most. Better fail with a song that most of us like. (don’t get me wrong i do like Sirens, Vale and Play it but i feel like they are too similar to some other songs)

For me there are three songs I would be more than happy with. Its either the mystical and wonderful Klavdia or its a banger like Evangelia or Xannovan Xan.
Ngl I had tears in my eyes when I heard Vale for the first time cause I follow her for a long time and want to see her represent greece at some point.
But any of those three goddesses I would be happy with 🙂

From what I listened, I think Klavdia is by far our best chance. The rest of the songs are either really mainstream Greek laiko or really mainstream pop. Evangelia’s song might even be my least favourite of the bunch but that kind of music is not for me anyways.

Rather weak songs I would say. Definitely not a winning song from Greece this year.

If I had to choose, I would pick Klavdia or Barbz. As for Evangelia’s song, it is rather mid and confusing I have to say, was expecting more.

It’s ok, not everyone has to agree with other people’s opinion. Depending on what they choose, I could see Greece in the final (even though it’s too early to tell, we don’t know yet most of the songs). But definitely not a winning song here.

If they send Klavdia or Barbz I could see them in the final. I could also see them in the final with Evangelia but honestly, this song reminds me of mundial rather than Eurovision. Very mediocre.
