The Eurovision 2025 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 3

TALI – “Dear Parents”

We kick off this week with a powerful ballad from TALI, who represented Luxembourg last year. The song is an emotional open letter to her parents, acknowledging their pride in her and expressing gratitude for everything they’ve done. Yet, she confesses that she sometimes feels “like a trophy” or “like a burden,” struggling under the weight of expectations and external pressure.

In the heartfelt lyrics, she shares her wish to gain her parents’ best qualities (“I want to be kind like my father”) while also revealing moments of vulnerability and fear, when all she really needs is the warmth and support of her family. Speaking about her latest release, TALI said:

“This song is so vulnerable and special to me and I hope it makes its way into your life in whatever way it’s meant to. Love you.”

Victoria – “WHISTLE”

Victoria, the bassist of the Italian rock band Måneskin, who won the contest in 2021, is making waves with her solo career as a DJ. Her latest release is a fresh mixtape that’s guaranteed to get you moving. While the track doesn’t include her vocals or any lyrics, it’s a true club banger that will have you shaking your whole body, especially if you’re into electronic club music. If hitting the dance floor isn’t your thing, this track could easily become your new workout anthem. Either way, it’s the energy boost you need!

Ben Cristovao – SEPTUM

Ben, known by his previous stage name Benny Cristo, sang for Czechia in 2021. This week, he dropped his latest album, featuring nine songs — all in Czech. The album showcases Ben’s rapping skills, with songs that will make you dance and vibe, like “KISSES,” as well as slower, heartfelt tunes like “omluva” (Apology), which was previously released as a single.

Ben collaborated with several artists on this project, including Karol Komenda on “Sníh” (Snow), LUISA on “NAVARI,” KOJO on “Napořád” (Forever), and Hard Rico on the opening track, “Zasloužený” (Deserved). The album is a collection of moods and feelings that’s sure to resonate with all of you.

MARO & NASAYA – LIFELINE

MARO, who represented Portugal in 2022, is back this week with a brand-new album — but it’s more than just a solo project. The album is a collaboration with NASAYA, a musician and producer from Réunion Island (a French island). The musical chemistry between the two artists is undeniable, with the entire project leaning into an indie electronic vibe.

The album features 10 tracks, including several recent singles. Whilst there’s the occasional insertion of Portuguese, most of the tracks are in English. In addition to the album, MARO and NASAYA will showcase their strong friendship and creative connection with an upcoming music tour across America.

Lordi – “Retropolis”

The next song on our list comes from Finland, and it’s a treat for rock lovers and anyone feeling nostalgic for the 80s. Lordi, the iconic Finnish rock band who won the contest in 2006, is gearing up for the release of an epic new album. Until then, they’re dropping teaser tracks, and their newest song has all the ingredients of a rock hit. From Mr. Lordi’s unmistakable voice to the complex instrumental arrangement, it’s a track that demands attention.

Mr. Lordi revealed that this song almost became the title track of their upcoming album, as it’s one they’re especially proud of. It’s not just pure rock — it’s a throwback to 80’s glam rock, inspired by U.D.O.’s Faceless World album. The lyrics don’t follow a specific narrative but evoke an 80s-style post-apocalyptic vibe, leaving room for your own interpretation. To make it even better, the song comes with a lyric video. Visually, the single pays homage to a classic, drawing inspiration from IRON MAIDEN’s Somewhere in Time album cover. Reflecting on the 80s influence, Mr. Lordi, the band’s lead vocalist, said:

“That being said, I really miss those days. Everything was better back then…everything was better in neon lights!”

A beautiful manifesto pro-love and against hate, called “Love for everyone,” comes from Germany. The project features numerous German artists, including two former Eurovision participants. The first is Chris Harms, who competed in 2023 as part of the rock band Lord of The Lost, and the second is ela., who appeared in 2014 as a member of Elaiza.

The track is acoustic, with a cozy and joyful vibe, and showcases great harmony between all the participating artists. The song delivers powerful peace messages with lyrics such as “Everyone points at the other/ Hey what happened?/ Tell me who won/ If love loses?” and “We have so much in common/ As different as we are.” The chorus states: “Love, love/ Love for everyone/ Everyone, everyone/ And hate for no one.”

Gustaph – “Really Mine”

Gustaph made Belgium proud in 2023, and he’s ready to deliver even more great music this year. His latest release is a full-on retro dance banger with massive club and radio potential. One thing’s for sure — Gustaph’s powerhouse vocals will have you moving in no time.

The lyrics centre around one main question: “Is your love really mine?” They confidently express a desire for true love, with no patience for wasting time or playing games: “I need to find out if your love is really mine/ I got no time to wait, my heart is on the line/ Don’t wanna get caught up into your trouble mind/ Is your lovin’ all your lovin’ really mine?” The song closes with a clear and confident message: “You’ve got one chance/ I’ve got one foot out the door.”

Marius Bear – “Forever”

Marius, who represented Switzerland in 2022, returns with a heartfelt acoustic ballad that perfectly complements his warm voice. Beyond its lovely melody, the song carries a powerful message: “when the skies are falling down,” someone will be there to lift you up. The lyrics reflect on the unstoppable passing of time, yet the song stands as a declaration of love — promising to always be there for a loved one throughout a lifetime.

Azucar Moreno – “Ya no queda nada”

Azúcar Moreno are the iconic Spanish music duo who represented their country at Eurovision back in 1990. Their new song, “There’s Nothing Left,” speaks about a failed romance from which nothing remains to be saved. What makes this track unique in our playlist this week is how it showcases Spain’s musical heritage, blending its Latin style with vibrant flamenco influences that are so characteristic for the sound of this iconic duo.

Rykka – “Hive Mind”

Rykka, remembered for representing Switzerland in Eurovision 2016, is back with an electro-pop track infused with dance influences, giving off an edgy vibe that perfectly reflects their unique style — a balance between light and darkness. They describe the song as “a universal ode to consciousness.”

The track explores themes of connection — with the world around you, the life within your mind and the idea of becoming immortal.

Petra Frey – “Altes Spiel, neues Glück”

Petra, a music legend in Austria who took to the Eurovision stage in 1994, returns this week with a thrilling dance-pop track called “Old Games, New Luck.” The song explores how one can change their own luck, blending retro and modern sounds for a fresh yet nostalgic feel. Accompanied by a colourful music video full of light effects and Petra’s undeniable charisma, the track is sure to get you dancing and to serve as a confidence boost.

Netta – “הסיבה שאין בי פחד”

Netta, the winner of Eurovision 2018 representing Israel, is known for her energetic bangers. But, her latest track takes a softer, more emotional turn. “The Reason I Have No Fear” is a heartfelt love ballad dedicated to her significant other. The chorus beautifully expresses how, with the right person by your side, there’s no room for doubt or fear: “He, the reason I have no fear/ Taught me to live in togetherness/ I will never be alone again/ Because only he/ Waits for me at the end of every night/ Tired, I go upstairs to bed/ For another hug and kiss.” Netta opened up about her song, sharing some very personal confessions:

“I feel like I’ve been walking for a while with hearts in my eyes, and it seems like they were visible. I’m used to keeping it inside, maybe because I was always afraid that if I said it out loud – it would disappear and be destroyed for me. The time when he was in the reserves made me realise how fragile life is, and how easy it is to miss an opportunity to say what we feel. I learned that waiting for the right moment doesn’t really work because sometimes that moment simply doesn’t come. Love is not something you save for another day, it’s something you live now, in this moment.”

Carola – “När flingor smälter (Home Is Where The Heart Is)”

Carola, the famous Swedish singer who won Eurovision in 1991, has a rich history with the contest, having also participated in 1983 and 2006. She’s continuing her appearance on Norway’s Hver gang vi møtes, and this week performed “När flingor smälter.”

Though Carola’s version is in Swedish, the song originally comes from Norwegian artist Astrid S and was featured in the Norwegian movie The Three Wishes of Cinderella, in which Astrid also appears. Not only has Carola created a Swedish rendition, but she also reimagined the song, shifting it closer to the country genre.

Kate Gulbrandsen – “Happy Vinterpride”

Kate, who made Norway proud with her Eurovision performance in 1987, still captivates with her mesmerising and powerful voice. And it’s never too late for a winter song, right? Get ready to soak in the cosiness of a beautiful winter ballad and be completely hypnotised by Kate’s vocals.

This time, however, there’s an important message behind the song. Created for Vinterpride (Winter Pride), the track supports the LGBTQ+ community. The lyrics say: “Only love can win/ When we’re standing together/ Happy Vinterpride to us all/ Only love melts ice/ In the Vinterpride city/ Nothing’s keeping us apart/ We stand for love.” The song sends a strong statement about the power of love and the importance of unity among people.

Flo Rida feat. ENHYPEN & Paul Russell – “Confesssions”

Flo Rida, the internationally famous American star, may be known for his rap and production skills, but he also took part in Eurovision in 2021 alongside Senhit for San Marino. His latest song, however, takes on a cool viral pop sound. This time, he collaborates with Heeseung and Jake from the K-pop band ENHYPEN, formed through the Korean survival show I-Land in 2020. American rapper Paul Russell also joins the track.

The song’s lyrics centre around confessing love to a woman who’s already in a relationship, with a hint of wanting something undercover: “Your boyfriend cool when you keep him on mute (…) If I’m on your mind, well/ You can put me on your schedule too.”

Sirusho – “Heru Em”

Sirusho, who represented Armenia in 2008, is back with her newest track, “Far Away.” Written in L.A., it was one of those rare moments where she was inspired to create both the lyrics and melody at the same time. The song speaks about being far from a toxic ex-lover who can no longer reach you. The lyrics reflect on overcoming a love that once seemed unforgettable: “You are ordinary now to me/ I can’t imagine how I loved you/ It seemed like I couldn’t live without you/ I was blinded, I think.” What’s interesting about this track is that it’s written from a man’s perspective, based on the story of one of Sirusho’s friends.

Douwe Bob – “Angel Child”

Douwe Bob, who represented the Netherlands in 2016, brings a heart-breaking song that captures the pain of losing a child at its premature birth, based on a real story. Douwe dedicates the song to “his young prince, his angel child,” painfully confessing: “Oh Gabriel, my angel child/ This is no goodbye/ Cause when I close my eyes I keep the dream alive/ Oh I’ll see you in the sky tonight/ And I’ll watch your starlight glow/ And you’ll never leave/ So I’ll never let you go.” Douwe shared that Gabriel was meant to be a spring baby, but instead, he became a winter angel.

Elina Nechayeva – “You Raise Me Up”

Elina, the outstanding Estonian opera singer who wowed us all in Eurovision 2018, is working on an upcoming album. To give us a sneak peek of what’s to come, she’s released her version of the timeless classic “You Raise Me Up.” She opened up about the song’s personal meaning for her and shared some insights into its history by saying:

“I’m thrilled to share with you the very first single from my upcoming album Dreams! For this special release, I’ve chosen to sing the timeless classic “You Raise Me Up”, a song that has inspired and touched hearts across the world. A song composed by Rolf Løvland and written by Brendan Graham. It was first recorded by Secret Garden [Norway’s Eurovision 1995 act], in collaboration with Brian Kennedy. Although the original version was not a major hit, the song has since been recorded by more than a hundred other artists. This piece holds a deep meaning for me. It’s a reminder of the incredible strength we find in love, faith, and the people who lift us higher when we need it most. I hope this version speaks to your heart and brings you as much joy as I felt recording it.”

Magdalena Tul – “Love Myself Again”

And we end this week with a confidence booster and a reminder to rise up again, coming from Poland’s Magdalena, who competed in 2011. The song speaks about rediscovering yourself and learning to love yourself, even when it’s tough due to the scars life leaves behind. The chorus says: “So here’s to the days I thought I’d break/ Here’s to the tears that taught me grace/ Learning to love myself, all the flaws I hid away.” The song encourages you to be kind to yourself, embrace who you are, and remember that everything sounds better with Magdalena’s powerful voice.

It takes a lot of courage to write such a song, it’s a very beautiful song and Tali’s got so much talent. She should be in the national selection 2025 I think?
