And then there were three. Today Irish broadcaster RTÉ revealed that Eurosong 2023 act Adgy is back for Eurosong 2025. Donegal-born Adgy will sing “Run into the Night” — a “Celtic pop anthem” produced by Ivan Klymenko. He’s the Ukrainian producer and songwriter behind Kalush Orchestra’s “Stefania,” Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil’s “Teresa & Maria,” and Jerry Heil’s “When God Shut the Door,” among others.
Tune into The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1 today to hear the first play.
About Adgy
RTÉ have teased something big.
“Adgy is making a bold return with a fresh sound and a mission to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2025. His new single, Run into the Night, is a Celtic pop anthem written by Adgy and produced by Eurovision legend Ivan Klymenko (Kalush – Stefania, ESC 2022 winner). The Donegal-born singer-songwriter performed on Eurosong 2023 with his track “Too Good For Your Love”, and since then has taken some time to develop his music and grow as an artist.
After Eurosong 2023, he went traveling and eventually made his way back to London, where he has been writing music for the past year. A prolific songwriter with over 12 million streams, a deal with Universal Music Group, and a publishing deal with Spirit BMG under his belt, Adgy draws inspiration from his roots in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
As we wait for Adgy’s Eurosong 2025 song to drop, let’s listen to his 2023 entry below.
I like it in fact fact ! The only one where i feel “ireland” he has my vote !
So far all the Irish songs are total crap let’s hope song 6 is the best
Song band put together by Louis Walsh last week no doubt lol
Emmy song is catchy and pacy not sure if it’s a winner
Three for three – a great start to Ireland’s ESC25 season. From memory Adgy had live vocal issues 2 years ago. I welcome the celtic musical elements in the song but feel that they should be limited to chorus/bridge. Having those sounds throughout somehow lessens their impact.
I like the song but my favorite so far is song nr. 2
I preferred his last attempt.
I like the musical arrangement it feels Irish, it’s kind of a dreamy song, but not enough punchy I fear, but I still like it, it has something and the end is cool.
It maybe more punchy in the live as adgy is a good performer.
I think this track needs a kick in the nuts, more beats and speeded up for optimal bangerisation, a bit like his previous entry.
The song feels like it’s 6 minutes long :/.. meh
It’s ok
Bobbi and Reylta stay unbothered tho
Just heard 25 seconds of Adgys song and I have to say I liked what I heard, if the rest of the song is as good or better, he would have a chance.
I like the Celtic elements but it needs more oomph.
It’s fine entry, but Bobbi is still leading the way for me
It’s OK, other two are better.
Still a better song than anything Ireland sent these years
Not a bad song. I like the celtic violin part. Though the song is too monotonous and doesn’t feel competative for a contest like Eurovision.
Just heard Adgy 2025. Its an okay song don’t dislike it except it seems one dimensional ie one level only musically and vocally. I found my mind wandering half way thru the song and that is not a good sign.
So, just heard it all on RTE… A nice track, great instrumentation (Celtic), and nothing at all wrong with the track but I think Bobbi still leads with that one-listen-to-instant-banger track. Of course Bobbi’s track will be harder to convey live as there’s a lot of audio/vocal processing so it could come apart live. As an example ADGY’s 2023 Eurosong track was in a similar vein to Bobbi, and it didn’t translate on the late late show. Great job ADGY… I’m a fan and look forward (behind cushions) to the late late horror show on the 7th. Best of luck.… Read more »

Thanks doctor, it definitely has something wheather it’s enough I don’t know
a big name does not mean a good song as proven by this
He’s not really that big a name. Most people would only remember him from his previous attempt to represent Ireland
i meant the songwriter not the singer
He’s also the songwriter… With his sister Jenny (who plays the fiddle/violin in the track).
The (big name) producer is Ivan Klymenko.
you do realise Ivan Klymenko. is also one of the writers
I like it but the other two entries are stronger based on what we have for now. It could all change with revamps and staging.
Withdrawing is the only option if the artists and the broadcasters are unsafe with the new safety rules and to boycott Israel. So Ireland may not be in this year
Ireland needs to withdraw if they’re not safe from new safety rules and to boycott the competition of Israel repeatedly allowed to enter the competition
You need to withdraw!
Why not “Walk into the morning” ?? Good luck anyways.
I like it and I like ADGY but it is the weakest of the 3 so far. Great to see him keep trying though and someday you never know.
But for now I’m still with The other two bangers
Yeah. ADGY has some great tracks – his 2023 entry still my favorite eurosong ‘track’, but Bobbi’s track is so chart-ready (and not at all ESC) that it’ll be hard to beat. Anywho… Looking forward to hear the whole piece, and then hide behind a cushion for the not for for purpose late late (holy)show live versions.
Oh god it will be dreadful. I do hope fans remember that Late Late Show performance will be completely different to what we get in Basel.
People wrote Bambie off quick enough after their LLS performance but then blew everyone away with the staging in Malmo
I like it. I do hope he’s kept his hair bleached 🙂

It seems a decent pop song but not the strongest of the 3 release so far
The violin part is so good but it won’t be enough to win the irish NF this year I think.
Still no Gaelic entries…
no? Samantha Mumba with ”My Way” is the third entry
