Israel has their artist for Eurovision 2025. Following months of competition, Yuval Raphael earned the ticket to Basel after winning HaKokhav HaBa (The Next Star).

Four acts made it to the grand final of the singing competition. The outcome during Wednesday night’s show was determined by a combination of jury and public voting over several rounds.

The final results were as follows:

  1. Yuval Raphael
  2. Valerie Hamaty
  3. Red Band & Moran Aharoni
  4. Daniel Weiss

Yuval now has the task of choosing a song to perform on the stage in Basel.

Composers have just over a week to submit their proposals to Israeli broadcaster KAN, who will internally select the song alongside Yuval.

The chosen song, Israel’s entry for Eurovision 2025, will be revealed in March.

Genuine question do Israel have anything else in sport or entertainment that they are good at in a calendar year? When Eurovision starts they come out like ants in sun like it’s live or die to win it

Not sure about sports, but in entertainment Israel are quite influential, even though you probably don’t know about it. For instance, tv series like Homeland and Euphoria are based on shows originally from Israel.

Looking forward to hearing the song. Hopefully it’ll be as last year. Israel should have won last year. Was by far the best song

You cannot in all honesty think that. We all know why it did so well in the televote, and it wasn’t because of anything to do with the actual song or performance. Nobody listened to it before or since, that’s why it didn’t show up in the streaming charts anywhere.

Nothing has fundamentally changed. The ceasefire that occured only because Isr@el couldn’t say no to the US which under the new administration aims to disengage from most conflicts, is of course welcome but not the solution to the main problem: the brutal occupation and the year-long (as specified by the ICJ Asvisory Opinion) ap@rtheid and genoc1de taking place. Isr@el is not welcome in the contest until these are stopped and P@lesti1nians have their own state.

Her voice is strong and soft and delicate at the same time.
Looking forward to the song.

She was absolutely phenomenal. Valery was amazing as well and for me they should sing a duet together in Basel.

Pal*stine defenders seem to be like Manchester United supporters. No matter how sh*t they are, no matter how at fault they are, they will always scream and shout. Kind of like MAGA cult…

And to be clear, if I get a*saulted, of course I am going to defend myself. And that is what Israel is doing. And they have been forced to defend themselves for many years, being constantly attacked by the surrounding M*slim countries because Isl*m teaches its followers from day one to eradicate J*ws.

Education is a powerful thing. More people should try it…

Yes, education is powerful. Indoctrination is as well. And you have clearly been indoctrinated to form a very strong anti-Muslim bias. Irony you should recognise the MAGA cultism, but not your own.

If P alestine gets assaulted, like they do every day since 1948 through arbitrary violence, restrictions of movement, restrictions on the goods coming into their territory, arrest and incarceration without trial indefinitely (including children) tortured etc of course they are going to defend them selves.

According to the UN, resistance to occupation is a human right.

In addition, you’ve clearly not read the Quran or any Islamic scripture as you only highlight your own pig ignorance in that comment. Tell me you know sweet f uck all without telling me you know sweet f uck all.

Make it make sense

Eurovision is about music first and foremost. if you don’t like a country competing then you don’t have to watch.

Read the news Liam. There’s a ceasefire in place now. And don’t bring up past wrongs because there are many other competing countries that could be accused of those.

Let’s try to make sure that Eurovision 2025 isn’t filled with the hatred that was on show in 2024.

No hatred, just no Israel competing after 2024 and that fiasco and I do read the news, I do not in anyway expect that ceasefire to last at all, I fully expect the animosity towards Israel to continue well beyond 2025, within this contest and it’s fandom where the vast majority don’t want Israel there. I’m not alone in this.

No disrespect to Yuval in anyway at all. It’s the country I have beef with not her.

140 million Eurovision viewers are not the few thousands of the Fandom, of which only a part agree with you btw.

If they try to send another politicised entry then they should be disqualified right away by the EBU. This country refused to agree on a new rule on no weapons inside the arena – so they are continuing that awful feeling many of us had in the Malmo arena last year… I am taking a break from attending as last year was tiring… Friends of mine wearing green (because they were Käärija fans from 2023) were profiled by security all the time, as green seemed to be a forbidden colour to wear last year… wonder if the same is going… Read more »

With the cease-fire in place as of now, and the winner being a nova massacre survivor, this is gonna be very interesting how the euro fanbase is going to handle Israel this year. I could see a potential bind here. If you cover israel this year when you didn’t do so last year, you would look like a hypocrite, even though the reason you boycotted was because of the war, which is now been halted with a cease-fire. But if you continue to ignore Israel despite a ceasefire, then you look like an antisemite eraser, even if you state that… Read more »

The Eurofandom really highlights some people’s blatant apathy to genoc*de. Wiwibloggs needs to get their morals in order because boycotting Israel is not just for Christmas, it’s all encompassing, and yes that means in esc too. This post should not have even seen the light of day. Do better, let’s stop treating Israel like any other regular competing country
