Nataleen’s song will be a televote charmer.
Frankly : only lighter and sulale are interesting.. Sulale being almost last in the poll i guess theres Just lighter left… I mean not the best but there s still a chance… If he s Just good on stage forget it its dead last for sure.. but if he s out of this world on stage it could be a moment… Unlikely but still possible.
Oh… well, I suppose Norway cannot be at the top every year. This 2025 selection is heavily nostalgic. Let’s have a look… The Bobbysocks Xmas song (yes I’m sure that sound is intentional) is cheerful and it sounds authentic enough from the winners of 1985. 2005 representatives Wig Wam are also bringing their old sound back authentically, with an epic guitar solo and all, which will please their fans. I miss that sound, so it appeals to me too. (But I think the less said about the optics of that video, the better.) Tone Damli brings the late 80s sound… Read more »
Worst MGP for ages. Keiino could have won amidst this collection!
Please stop trying to make Keiino a thing again. They had their chances.
Rooting for WIG WAM. Legendary band and meaningful message in HUMAN FIRE. They are going be AMAZING on stage.
So far the weakest NF this year…. Very disappointed
Gurl we have three songs that 100% will qualify from the semis. Mention some other NF who can say the same?
Ladybug is okayish
My Top #Norway #Eurovision2025
1 . Nataleen – The Game
2. Wig Wam – Human Fire
3. Kyle Alessandro – Lighter
4. Ladybug – Hot as Hell in Paradise
5. LLL – Parasite
6. Nora Jabri – Sulale
7. Bobbysocks – Joyful
8. Tone Damli – Last Song
9. Sondrey – Vagabond
This is my ranking for Norway’s Eurovision selection this year. I believe the top 3 songs are the most suitable to represent Norway on the international stage. Best of luck to all the artists! Greetings from Romania!
I think I’ll pass on MGP this year … they said they needed a budget cut, i never thought that applied to the songs as well.
I love Tone Damli’s song, I hope she finally gets her Eurovision moment. The Lighter is kitsch to me…
my favourite song is “parasite” but none of them are Q material
sulale second to last in the poll ? that’s a surprise. I know it’s not typically norwegian but the 2 only interesting entries are Sulale and lighter. But Sulale is more memorable I think…
Joyful would be perfect for a Christmas album.
Bobbysocks for the win!
It Does have a very Christmasy tone.
human fire ftw its the best song out of these
Defenetly. I agree 100%
Norway is a powerhouse in Eurovision, but the level of this year’s MGP is so low that it will be a surprise if Norway does end up qualifying.
No kidding. MGP is usually one of my favorite selections, but I’m really not feeling it this year. I wonder if culling the number of entries lead the studio to pick only the “safe” songs after last year’s risk didn’t pay off?
it’s because Stig Karlsen isn’t responsible for MGP and eurovision anymore 🙁 this year they have a new team which cut the semi finals and chose these songs. not a big fan either…
Wrong wrong wrong ! The decision of one grand final only and the selection of songs and artists happened before Stig Karlsen quit. The new music responsible has nothing to do with it…
As a norwegian, I’m glad to hear the full versions being stronger than the snippets we were given. For a moment there I was worried that we wouldn’t have any contendants to pull us through the semis, but now I have hope. It’s definitely gonna be between Kyle Alessandro and Nataleen this year, and I feel like they have exactly equal chances ahead of seeing the show. Kyle’s song is decent but we know for a fact that he’s got good live vocals and he’s also a dancer, so this is definitely gonna be a treat of a live show.… Read more »
I agree, as a Norwegian. We do always get a lot of hate for our NF, but come on. We are not Sweden. We are doing okay. and have qualified for the final every year since 2017. People need to chill.
Not a great selection, Kyle Alessandro jumps out for me.
Win or not, for those of us who remember 1985 it is wonderful to see Bobbysocks at this level, looking and sounding so super.
I like the selection. 4 songs are going on my ESC playlist. Lighter is a reminiscent of She Got Me or anything Alex P. would serve us from Cyprus. But it has its own personality and charm. I absolutely adore the production of Parasite. World class. The song is catchy AF. Last Song is something that Kylie could record, so I stan. Hot As Hell In Paradise screams The Army Of Lovers or The BWO and based on this merit it’s just epic. In addition to it, it’s an earworm. I really like it. Wig Wam’s track is a tad… Read more »
If I really had to make choice, I’d say ‘Parasite’, but I’m happier this way.
What happened to MGP? This was one of the national selections I always looked forward to.. this year it’s just so safe and mid-quality, not even semi-finals? Kyle Alessandro seems solid and probably their only chance at a top 10 spot…
Seeing how they struggled to find artists willing to take part it makes sense to keep it DL this year.
Many established Norwegians decided to boycott this year so this is what we got
Yes, it is disappointing to see Norway slipping down in quality this year, but I hope that this is a one off slip and they come back on form next year. I don’t wanna see it start declining like Denmark.
I like the songs from Nataleen, WigWam and Kyle Alessandro most.
I’m in love with Lighter by Kyle Alessandro from the first listen! Strong catch song and very good voice. And he is 18 years old, what a talent.
The snippets were not good, as the songs are much better than expected overall. Nataleen and LLL are my clear favourites still – very catchy songs that have a story to tell even, not just let’s be happy and let’s be gay… Sondrey and Nora both have great songs, but they don’t have songs that would be competative in Eurovision, but I am happy to add them to my playlist now. I like the verses in both Kyle, Tone and Ladybug’s songs – but the choruses are just too uninteresting unfortunately. Wig Wam is serving a capable midtempo glam rock… Read more »
Nataleen as a guilty pleasure. Tne rest are just flat, generic, not memorable, nq at esc.
Isn’t her song just a watered down version of Queen of Kings?
More like run to the hills from Mel fest 2022
Entire song reminds you of Klara’song or just first second od the chorus?
I don’t know, I haven’t had a chance to listen to the full song yet. I’ll get back to you when I do so?
So you are basing it off of a snippet. Great.
Yes, unfortunately. But like I said, when I hear the whole song and all these songs in full, I’ll get back tell you my opinion. I just have a lot of NF Playlists to go through.
First 1 second reminds you of QoK amd all of a sudden its a rip off of that song? Get real
No, the entire song. And I never said it is a rip off. Just that it sounds similar. But most songs sound similar to other songs because everything has been done
Of course they sound similar. The writers are the same and the genre is the same. But for anyone that has a ear – it is different from both “QoK” and “RttH” by Klara.
Exactly. It is same as if someone had said that Lighter reminds them of Fuego, My number one, Dum Tek Tek and many others (because it has the reggeton drums in it). People (kids to be more precise) have no idea what plagiarism is and throw hate at anyone that can beat their favorite on the contest (The game can definitely not just beat but destroy the Lighter)
The worst MGP in years. Kyle Alessandro should win this easily if he is a good live performer
He is, he previously competed in a group in 2023, watch Umami Tsunami – Geronimo
His song is bad lol
MGP 2025 is simply a coronation ceremony for Bobbysocks. That group is to Norway like Bucks Fizz is to the UK. The opportunity to send them will be far too great to resist. They’ve cut it down to one grand final deliberately for this purpose, and Bobbysocks will probably be near or at the end of the running order. Joyful is a lovely song, too, and no other country will send anything like it this year. This may as well be an internal selection.
You can always dream about it:?
Honestly nobody
People were so mean about the snippets, meanwhile Kyle Alessandro quite possibly has a Top 5 song. I wouldn’t be mad at NRK if they just internally selected him. Almost feels like the selection might be intentionally weak to give him an easy path.
He is young…and he is not the most experienced or confident performer yet…so I don’t think it is that easy for him to win.
I think Sondrey is the best option. I guess this will be a standout between all the upbeat songs. «Vagabond» and Sondrey’s voice gives me kind of The Weeknd-vibes.
Yes great song, but i dont think it is competative enough for the big show though…but wouldn’t be mad if he won it.
After some listenings I’ll go for «The Game» instead with «Vagabond» as a good nr.2. I have what happened with JOWST in 2017 clear in mind, last in the bettings but still won with a good margin. «Vagabond» gives me the same vibes.
Have previous Eurovision winners in national selections and come back and NOT won before? I know there was Loreen in 2017, but well, as we all know, she did try again.
Lys Assia 2012, I guess.
Any others?
rybak maybe?
You could maybe count Charlotte Perelli. She tried Melodifestivalen with Still Young after she won twice.
True, plus two other songs after her first successful comeback
She also failed to qualify with The Girl in 2012 and ‘ Mitt Liv” in 2017
Carola I believe
She did win again with Evighet on her first return, though
She did fail to win with her ” first ” comeback in 1990. Got second place. But not sure if that is what he meant
Jørgen Olsen tried out in Denmark in 2007 – one half of Olsen Brothers. Also Elisabeth Andreassen took part in a couple of MGPs and even Melodifestivalen without winning again, same with Carola when she performed with Andreas Johnson.
Oh thanks, both Olsen Brothers tried again in 2005 I just remembered. I didn’t know about the 2007 attempt.
They performed “Little Yellow Radio” in 2005 and Jørgen solo with “Vi elsker bare danske piger” in 2007.
Greetings: The Dane 🙂
Tak, Herre Falk!
Elisabeth Andreassen of Bobbysocks appeared in MGP 1998, 2003 and 2015 without winning
Okay here’s my take. Kyle Alessandro has proven that he has good vocals (although he was autotuned but whatever) and he has good stage presence. Having listened to his full song he was lowk done dirty by the clip bc the chorus is by far the weakest part of the song. The song is veryyyy reminiscent of SloMo in terms of the structure but I guess its captivating so it works. I like the Nordic elements and the sort of armour-like styling and I feel like this package has a whole lot of staging potential. But we’ll see .This i… Read more »
bit too much like Luca Hanni for me
Nora Jabri or Kyle Alessandro for me.
LLL, Tone and Ladybug for me, some sleek synths supplied by Norway
LadyBug – “Hot as Hell in paradise” is the only song where there is a different construction, all the others are generic and not memorable
You literally just mentioned one of the most generic songs though…chorus reminds me of Army of Lovers….
The only option is Kyle Alessandro!
Only he can make it to the GF in may.
Tend to agree although Bobbysocks might get the nostalgic vote and LLL have Ben on board who might pull Subwoolfer fans.
I think it’s between Kyle Alessandro and Nataleen.
