Frankly : only lighter and sulale are interesting.. Sulale being almost last in the poll i guess theres Just lighter left… I mean not the best but there s still a chance… If he s Just good on stage forget it its dead last for sure.. but if he s out of this world on stage it could be a moment… Unlikely but still possible.

Oh… well, I suppose Norway cannot be at the top every year. This 2025 selection is heavily nostalgic. Let’s have a look… The Bobbysocks Xmas song (yes I’m sure that sound is intentional) is cheerful and it sounds authentic enough from the winners of 1985. 2005 representatives Wig Wam are also bringing their old sound back authentically, with an epic guitar solo and all, which will please their fans. I miss that sound, so it appeals to me too. (But I think the less said about the optics of that video, the better.) Tone Damli brings the late 80s sound… Read more »

My Top #Norway #Eurovision2025

1 . Nataleen – The Game
2. Wig Wam – Human Fire
3. Kyle Alessandro – Lighter
4. Ladybug – Hot as Hell in Paradise
5. LLL – Parasite
6. Nora Jabri – Sulale
7. Bobbysocks – Joyful
8. Tone Damli – Last Song
9. Sondrey – Vagabond

This is my ranking for Norway’s Eurovision selection this year. I believe the top 3 songs are the most suitable to represent Norway on the international stage. Best of luck to all the artists! Greetings from Romania!

I think I’ll pass on MGP this year … they said they needed a budget cut, i never thought that applied to the songs as well.

sulale second to last in the poll ? that’s a surprise. I know it’s not typically norwegian but the 2 only interesting entries are Sulale and lighter. But Sulale is more memorable I think…

Norway is a powerhouse in Eurovision, but the level of this year’s MGP is so low that it will be a surprise if Norway does end up qualifying.

No kidding. MGP is usually one of my favorite selections, but I’m really not feeling it this year. I wonder if culling the number of entries lead the studio to pick only the “safe” songs after last year’s risk didn’t pay off?

it’s because Stig Karlsen isn’t responsible for MGP and eurovision anymore 🙁 this year they have a new team which cut the semi finals and chose these songs. not a big fan either…

Wrong wrong wrong ! The decision of one grand final only and the selection of songs and artists happened before Stig Karlsen quit. The new music responsible has nothing to do with it…

As a norwegian, I’m glad to hear the full versions being stronger than the snippets we were given. For a moment there I was worried that we wouldn’t have any contendants to pull us through the semis, but now I have hope. It’s definitely gonna be between Kyle Alessandro and Nataleen this year, and I feel like they have exactly equal chances ahead of seeing the show. Kyle’s song is decent but we know for a fact that he’s got good live vocals and he’s also a dancer, so this is definitely gonna be a treat of a live show.… Read more »

I agree, as a Norwegian. We do always get a lot of hate for our NF, but come on. We are not Sweden. We are doing okay. and have qualified for the final every year since 2017. People need to chill.

I like the selection. 4 songs are going on my ESC playlist. Lighter is a reminiscent of She Got Me or anything Alex P. would serve us from Cyprus. But it has its own personality and charm. I absolutely adore the production of Parasite. World class. The song is catchy AF. Last Song is something that Kylie could record, so I stan. Hot As Hell In Paradise screams The Army Of Lovers or The BWO and based on this merit it’s just epic. In addition to it, it’s an earworm. I really like it. Wig Wam’s track is a tad… Read more »

What happened to MGP? This was one of the national selections I always looked forward to.. this year it’s just so safe and mid-quality, not even semi-finals? Kyle Alessandro seems solid and probably their only chance at a top 10 spot…

Seeing how they struggled to find artists willing to take part it makes sense to keep it DL this year.
Many established Norwegians decided to boycott this year so this is what we got

Yes, it is disappointing to see Norway slipping down in quality this year, but I hope that this is a one off slip and they come back on form next year. I don’t wanna see it start declining like Denmark.

The snippets were not good, as the songs are much better than expected overall. Nataleen and LLL are my clear favourites still – very catchy songs that have a story to tell even, not just let’s be happy and let’s be gay… Sondrey and Nora both have great songs, but they don’t have songs that would be competative in Eurovision, but I am happy to add them to my playlist now. I like the verses in both Kyle, Tone and Ladybug’s songs – but the choruses are just too uninteresting unfortunately. Wig Wam is serving a capable midtempo glam rock… Read more »

Of course they sound similar. The writers are the same and the genre is the same. But for anyone that has a ear – it is different from both “QoK” and “RttH” by Klara.

Exactly. It is same as if someone had said that Lighter reminds them of Fuego, My number one, Dum Tek Tek and many others (because it has the reggeton drums in it). People (kids to be more precise) have no idea what plagiarism is and throw hate at anyone that can beat their favorite on the contest (The game can definitely not just beat but destroy the Lighter)

MGP 2025 is simply a coronation ceremony for Bobbysocks. That group is to Norway like Bucks Fizz is to the UK. The opportunity to send them will be far too great to resist. They’ve cut it down to one grand final deliberately for this purpose, and Bobbysocks will probably be near or at the end of the running order. Joyful is a lovely song, too, and no other country will send anything like it this year. This may as well be an internal selection.

After some listenings I’ll go for «The Game» instead with «Vagabond» as a good nr.2. I have what happened with JOWST in 2017 clear in mind, last in the bettings but still won with a good margin. «Vagabond» gives me the same vibes.

Okay here’s my take. Kyle Alessandro has proven that he has good vocals (although he was autotuned but whatever) and he has good stage presence. Having listened to his full song he was lowk done dirty by the clip bc the chorus is by far the weakest part of the song. The song is veryyyy reminiscent of SloMo in terms of the structure but I guess its captivating so it works. I like the Nordic elements and the sort of armour-like styling and I feel like this package has a whole lot of staging potential. But we’ll see .This i… Read more »
