Was Laura Thorn your favourite? And how will Luxembourg fare in Basel in May? Let us know in the comments below.
Like it – but those vocals don’t bode well!
This is so much fun and catchy. Fun to look at and listen to. It gives me Austria 2016 vibes plus the nostalgia of the 1965 entry with modern twist.
This has potential with staging IF they do it right.
Well done Luxembourg
Rafa Ela gave an epic performance, but sadly we’ve heard that type of song many times before now. She didn’t deserve last place.
Fantastic song from Laura and a beautiful tribute to France Gall, but that staging needs a LOT of work. Not sure if I like the whole doll act. I personally really liked Luzac too, ‘Je Danse’ is a banger and that staging was on point, especially for a national selection. Laura’s vocals were way better though.
Everything in this performance is so Junior Eurovision. It will do very well in Junior Eurovision, I don’t know about adult Eurovision, maybe it will.
Fans were saying the same for Austria 2016, yet it was top 10 in televoting.
I can’t get over how amazing this song is. The junior festival vibe is supposed to be there, it goes hand in hand with the doll and play theme and when she breaks free they show it with the outfit change and the change in the vocal and attitude, no more junior vibe. Laura had a very clever choreo. A “doll” is supposed to look perfect and be just a thing to play with, to be held, moved, whatever with the “hands” and there’s “hands” references throughout the first verse in “marionnette”, “manège” (almost); “manipule”, “manettes”, “ficelles”. Those references are… Read more »
I a not a fan of this whole Princess staging. These are grown up women with songs about empowerment yet they all pretend to act as teens and ” tihi arent I cute. Like soft girl trying to convince everybody she still can be though.. It might work for Junior but for adult ESC i want actual adults. I had the same issue with Riley. And Zoe from Austria. They all had good songs that probably would have done better had they not been stuck in forever I am 13 years old staging Just act your age! Or find actual… Read more »
Catchy song. Congratulations to the winner. Great to see Tali again!!! “Fighter” <3
Fighter <3
The song is sweet , needs a huge revamp though, can still keep its homage to 1965 but the music to the song, performance and arrangement needs working on . Borderline qualifier ! As it stands
It’s a cute song, she is very likeable but they need to work on the staging
Yeah, catchy. Likely a qualifier.
J’adore
It’s not winning material but it’s ok. I think Luxembourg should move out of the 80’s.
I think its more 1965 than 80’s!
It’s more 1960s but given that the local music scene is still incipient, it’s nice to see them try different angles and references out while they find their own footing
It sounds nothing like the 80s.
So happy for Laura. My favorite won! Felicitations!
Ok congrats to her! Not surprised at all, it was the expected outcome, not blown away by the performance but it was solid, on the other hand really surprised with my fav finishing last…
3rd national final of the NF season and the 3rd when the people were ignored and the juries chose the winner. Same as last years winner. Nemo won without the support of the public. His win clearly hasn’t been scrutinised. He shouldn’t have won the same as the three NF winners shouldn’t have won. Why should a group of 5 people (national juries) dictate the winner of a contest? When the people are overruled?
Calm down she was 2nd with the televote and Zero Point Five would have been a bad choice and a sure NQ in May
Both of you are right.
Right on!
zjerm literally won the televote what
It’s about the balance. The televote and juries combined often come to a result that over time seems quite right. For instance, Loreen’s second win was not popular, but in the end her song was a way bigger hit than Kaarija’s. And in this case, Laura obviously has a much better chance in Basel than the televote winner.
Loreen literally came 2nd as well
Rafa coming dead last makes no sense…
He’s retired. He didn’t even play the Australian open.
??? love that comment
Underrated comment
i does make sense, her song is generic af
Past year I was happy with the return of Luxembourg to Eurovision. Today I’m even happier, because La poupée monte le son will be one of my favourite songs of this year. It’s the first time a competing song is a homage to an ancient Eurovision winning song. And what a “magnifique” homage!!! Congratulations, Laura and Luxembourg. Perhaps another victory? I wish!!
Very retro and twee, like the song, this has potential if they tidy up the vocals and stage show. Dare I say it is giving junior eurovision vibes which is slightly concerning. Could get lost at Eurovision if improvements are not made.
It was a fantastic show, which, as it turned out, was entirely made by a Ukrainian creative team. This is what Vidbir would have looked like if it had been held in peaceful times.
Felicitation Luxembourg !
8/12 for Laura Thorn
I think this entry is very sweet, charming and nostalgic. I think it will certainly qualify for the final and do quite well!
60 years after France Gall’s win, another “poupée” to represent Luxembourg! The song is a banger! Douze points!
Another mid song in French from Luxembourg
So far Luxembourg hasn’t sold out by sending a completely English song yet. Keep the French streak going.
Buddy, they’re already becoming extremely boring with sending same style of entry
Toy 2.0 lyrics without chicken. uninspired.
Sadly NQ material
Very nice show, performances and guests and all. Laura did so well singing live and performing at the same time. And the choreo was really entertaining. The song is amazing. I hope they’ll have an outrageous in a good way staging on the The Festival stage. Like HUGE.
If the #1 song with the public came dead last with the juries by miles it would be the end of the world from everybody in the comment section but because their favorite won, everyone just ignores that.
Because Eurovision fans are such hypocrites
how tf they won televote?
I’m guessing they have a some kind of fandom as they are the only ones actually performing and touring as most of these folks are just people “who can sing” who auditioned. Their song probably played very well to rural areas and older viewers. There’s a certain swath of Europe that tends to have country music fandoms like Netherlands (the only jury to give high marks), Belgium, Germany, Norway and Sweden. But it seems the jury was mostly younger Eurovision stars who wouldn’t be into this genre. In the arena it did seem like they had the loudest reaction.
Thank God juries were there. Ride is a bland and cheap country song
1: What an absolutely AMAZING production once again! Much better than MGP or Melodifestivalen ever is! Perfection from start to finish: Intro, stage, postcards, visual effects, stagings and even the hosts and interval acts! Top notch!!!
2: Visuell effects on Rythmic Soulwave and Luzac blew me away- AMAZING!
3: The moment we saw and heard Laura Thorn she was the obvious winner!
4: OMG i am happy Luxembourg doesn’t have Finlands voting system!!!
Laura would have won with finland’s jury system too.
The entirely Ukrainian team was in charge of the production. I find that very interesting.
Bottom 5 material, but could’ve been worse if they selected Zero Point Five hehe
And you can say that, only knowing 3 songs…interesting…. ?
Without a doubt THE best song from Luxembourg’s selection, and I have a new winner as of today! I must congratulate RTL on their show, it was high quality and they clearly love Eurovision a lot. As for the songs that competed… well, let’s just say, I hope they re-organize their budget more towards them next year. But all the performances were staged very well. If Laura didn’t win, Luzac felt like the 2nd most Eurovision-ready participant with some work. Laura has the potential to be a new “Loin d’ici” (Austria 2016) and I wish her the best! Now PLEASE,… Read more »
Agree the song needs no revamp. Maybe the chorus. They can get more creative there but it’s not needed. I would focus on the stage performance
It would be much better Tali to come back with her new song. Sadly I don’t see Lux in the ESC final again. Congrats to Laura, she’s powerful and really sings nicely. What a intriguing voting pattern: juries vs.public for the first and the last in both (Laura vs. 0,5)
This is going to be a superb tribute to France Gall in Basel. A catchy pop number for Luxembourg, full of symbols and a stylish writting in French language. ‘Douze points’ from France 😉
Congratulations Laura. It’s so wonderful to have a sequel song to the 1965 winner in the 2025 contest. I adore “La poupée monte le son”, and I loved the choreography tonight as well.
See y’all again on (checks)… oh, Greece is on Thursday, so that’s awkward timing, maybe then. But definitely next Saturday (Slovenia, Belgium & Spain).
Luxembourg, Europe just saved you BIG TIME. Thank you Laura for saving the night, quality won!
The guys from 0.5 must have a lot of family and friends.
Can you just accept that it’s not all about what Eurovision fans like lol, artists have careers in their countries and their fans…
Thank God for the juries…
Thanks juries for avoiding a total disaster. I don’t know the guys from the Zero Point Five band but sometimes all it takes is wealthy and influent families…
Or a strong fanbase on social media.
LAURA DID IT YAYYY SHE WAS MY WINNER
THANK GOD. Still, seems unbelievable that 0.5 won the Public Vote. The juries tanked them for a good purpose.
Juries save us. LITERALLY.
How did Zero Point Five get more points than Laura?
From the public of course
Either that or Conchita really was so nervous, 110 points could have been 10 points (we’d never know).
That was the reason I updated with the points. Had to get out the calculator to find out what was said 🙂
okay they are nq with such a generic song
Don’t fumble Luxembourg… That’s not a warning, that’s a threat. :DD
Oh my goodness. 0.5 must be huge in LUX
HOW DID ZERO POINT FIVE GET 110 PUBLIC POINTS?
What a slap in the face to the others.
Were they really just standing there this whole time?
is anyone listening to the english commentary? absolute rubbish, not insight and sound like they dont want to be there – is putting me off the show.
They kinda messed up with the placement of the finalists on stage. Every time the camera shows Laura grateful for her 12 points, you can clearly see the sour face of the Rhythmic Soulwave singer lol.
Holy crap, that ad break was RUDE. XD
I don’t want to sound repetitive but I think Conchita is nervous.
Should we wait a little longer? Maybe 3 or 4 interval acts to remember this moment better?
The future of Luxembourg is in Conchita’s hands. Ah, the power. Is that dress too much?
Should we wait a little longer? Yeah, why not. Visit beautiful Luxembourg, and buy new furniture.
I like it when people are on board with something. Jacob, Purple Mask, I bow to you.
