This is so much fun and catchy. Fun to look at and listen to. It gives me Austria 2016 vibes plus the nostalgia of the 1965 entry with modern twist.

This has potential with staging IF they do it right.

Well done Luxembourg

Rafa Ela gave an epic performance, but sadly we’ve heard that type of song many times before now. She didn’t deserve last place.

Fantastic song from Laura and a beautiful tribute to France Gall, but that staging needs a LOT of work. Not sure if I like the whole doll act. I personally really liked Luzac too, ‘Je Danse’ is a banger and that staging was on point, especially for a national selection. Laura’s vocals were way better though.

Everything in this performance is so Junior Eurovision. It will do very well in Junior Eurovision, I don’t know about adult Eurovision, maybe it will.

Fans were saying the same for Austria 2016, yet it was top 10 in televoting.

I can’t get over how amazing this song is. The junior festival vibe is supposed to be there, it goes hand in hand with the doll and play theme and when she breaks free they show it with the outfit change and the change in the vocal and attitude, no more junior vibe. Laura had a very clever choreo. A “doll” is supposed to look perfect and be just a thing to play with, to be held, moved, whatever with the “hands” and there’s “hands” references throughout the first verse in “marionnette”, “manège” (almost); “manipule”, “manettes”, “ficelles”. Those references are… Read more »

I a not a fan of this whole Princess staging. These are grown up women with songs about empowerment yet they all pretend to act as teens and ” tihi arent I cute. Like soft girl trying to convince everybody she still can be though.. It might work for Junior but for adult ESC i want actual adults. I had the same issue with Riley. And Zoe from Austria. They all had good songs that probably would have done better had they not been stuck in forever I am 13 years old staging Just act your age! Or find actual… Read more »

The song is sweet , needs a huge revamp though, can still keep its homage to 1965 but the music to the song, performance and arrangement needs working on . Borderline qualifier ! As it stands

It’s more 1960s but given that the local music scene is still incipient, it’s nice to see them try different angles and references out while they find their own footing

3rd national final of the NF season and the 3rd when the people were ignored and the juries chose the winner. Same as last years winner. Nemo won without the support of the public. His win clearly hasn’t been scrutinised. He shouldn’t have won the same as the three NF winners shouldn’t have won. Why should a group of 5 people (national juries) dictate the winner of a contest? When the people are overruled?

It’s about the balance. The televote and juries combined often come to a result that over time seems quite right. For instance, Loreen’s second win was not popular, but in the end her song was a way bigger hit than Kaarija’s. And in this case, Laura obviously has a much better chance in Basel than the televote winner.

Past year I was happy with the return of Luxembourg to Eurovision. Today I’m even happier, because La poupée monte le son will be one of my favourite songs of this year. It’s the first time a competing song is a homage to an ancient Eurovision winning song. And what a “magnifique” homage!!! Congratulations, Laura and Luxembourg. Perhaps another victory? I wish!!

Very retro and twee, like the song, this has potential if they tidy up the vocals and stage show. Dare I say it is giving junior eurovision vibes which is slightly concerning. Could get lost at Eurovision if improvements are not made.

It was a fantastic show, which, as it turned out, was entirely made by a Ukrainian creative team. This is what Vidbir would have looked like if it had been held in peaceful times.

I’m guessing they have a some kind of fandom as they are the only ones actually performing and touring as most of these folks are just people “who can sing” who auditioned. Their song probably played very well to rural areas and older viewers. There’s a certain swath of Europe that tends to have country music fandoms like Netherlands (the only jury to give high marks), Belgium, Germany, Norway and Sweden. But it seems the jury was mostly younger Eurovision stars who wouldn’t be into this genre. In the arena it did seem like they had the loudest reaction.

1: What an absolutely AMAZING production once again! Much better than MGP or Melodifestivalen ever is! Perfection from start to finish: Intro, stage, postcards, visual effects, stagings and even the hosts and interval acts! Top notch!!!

2: Visuell effects on Rythmic Soulwave and Luzac blew me away- AMAZING!

3: The moment we saw and heard Laura Thorn she was the obvious winner!

4: OMG i am happy Luxembourg doesn’t have Finlands voting system!!!

Without a doubt THE best song from Luxembourg’s selection, and I have a new winner as of today! I must congratulate RTL on their show, it was high quality and they clearly love Eurovision a lot. As for the songs that competed… well, let’s just say, I hope they re-organize their budget more towards them next year. But all the performances were staged very well. If Laura didn’t win, Luzac felt like the 2nd most Eurovision-ready participant with some work. Laura has the potential to be a new “Loin d’ici” (Austria 2016) and I wish her the best! Now PLEASE,… Read more »

It would be much better Tali to come back with her new song. Sadly I don’t see Lux in the ESC final again. Congrats to Laura, she’s powerful and really sings nicely. What a intriguing voting pattern: juries vs.public for the first and the last in both (Laura vs. 0,5)
