EMA 2025 is raring to go! On 1 February, we will get to know who will be Raiven’s successor and represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2025.
Earlier, we asked you, the viewers, to vote for your favourite act among the twelve competing at this year’s edition of EMA. And after 738 votes, we have your winner…
July Jones is a favourite to win EMA 2025
Julija Aljaž – better known as July Jones – became a fan favourite after featuring in the last edition of EMA in 2022, earning fifth place with the edgy pop song “Girls Can Do Anything.” This year, you deem her as the runaway choice to represent Slovenia in Eurovision. She won our EMA 2025 poll with 289 votes, a very strong 39.16% of the total.
More than 200 votes behind, it’s the host-turned-competitor. Klemen earns second place with a heartfelt ballad dedicated to his partner, “How Much Time Do We Have Left,” which received 77 votes — 10.43% of the total.
And securing third place by just one vote, we see Zven and her tribal song “Divja.” She picked up a 7.99% share, which equate to 59 votes.

So, I’ve finally listened to the Slovene songs this morning and it’s a dire lot. Even if something I that I ranked (relatively) high does win the ticket, I still don’t expect it to qualify for Slovenia. The list (you’ll probably hate me for NOT putting July Jones as number 1. I’ll accept it as the representative if she wins, but honestly I don’t care who wins here tonight. Slovenia will be lucky if I don’t rank it last) 1. Frederick’s Dead 2. Cau 3. O-ou! 4. New Religion 5. Vse ti dam 6. Niti 7. Touche 8. Grace 9. How Much Time Do We Have Left 10. Kind 11. Divja… Read more »
Eva Pavli is totally being slept on. Her audio clip is the most striking and interesting.
Judging from the past i can pretty confidently assume that July won’t win. EMA has only ever produced bland winning songs with the exception of maybe 2018 and 2019
Whoever wins EMA, Slovenia is 100% an NQ this year. They should just go back to internal entries. Joker Out and Raiven were great.
I think that you´re right.
My picks July Jones or Rai.
Happy first Super Saturday y’all and good luck Slovenia!
Eva Pavli with her song Niti is the one that I like most. I hope she will win in Slovenia
July Jones has been really been growing on me. The dreamy bit has a sinister undertone which gives it a really dark edge, which I really enjoy.
For me ” Frederick’s Dead” is the stand out. Bizarre, weird over the top theatealic. Like a Tim Burton musical or something. I know it has no chance to win but it would have been fun if it did
Funny enough, it actually ended up as my number favorite for EMA 2025 because of those reasons you’ve listed. But I’m not hoping or expecting it to win, and if it does, I don’t expect it to guarantee a qualification for Slovenia. I think it’s cooked for 2025.
Slovenian here.
Expect July not to be chosen. Slovenian music taste is quite… hideous, as you may know. Not exactly sure why, but yes
Who do you expect to win if not July Jones?
I remember EMA being very unpredictable at times. Like 2020, when Voda won (though that revamp really grew on me) and 2022 with Disko.
I would choose Zven with Divja Just for the sake of sending something different.
New Religion is not bad but I hardly see it doing better than the 2 last slovenian acts (2 undeserved bottom 5).
As for “How Much Time Do We Have Left”, it’s a no comment. Completely depressing song
