Mentissa was their best proposal since Loïc Nottet, but obviously the jury and the public made another choice.
It’s their choice, let’s respect it, too bad for them and so much the better for the other countries who have just won one more chance in the ranking.

I hope he finds the right notes until may. I really don’t get why everybody is praising his voice. Just because he can sing a high note…

It’s usually the high note that leaves the largest impact on people – most don’t register that his lower register was kinda shaky. Still – my guess would be it was mostly nerves as he improved later in the song. He definitely can improve imensely

Great pick Belgium. It’s fantastic that we will hear a techno song at Eurovision. This will easily reach Top 10 in May.

As a Belgian I must say I’m incredibly proud we chose Red Sebastian and that I’m very shocked at all the hate this entry is getting here. He won both the jury and public vote by a landslide, brought PERFECT vocals, nailed the high note big time, brought a polished and Eurovision-ready act and he looks the part. Not to mention his performance is a huge ode to the Belgian rave and techno scene in our country. This is part of our DNA, something we are proud of. Some people here are obsessed with those meaningless bedding odds and Belgium… Read more »

I normally don’t follow the Belgian Eurosong but this year, I decided to go for it since I was the odds insisting on Belgium winning the contest (so far). This song was the only one that stood out from the others. It’s a very dance song (probably rave style, I am no expert in music genres). I like the chorus part with the visuals and the rave part. The rest of the song does not quite fit well, I feel there’s something missing. He has a good voice and I would love to support Red Sebastian and Belgium, but not… Read more »

The vocal at the start is rather weak. If the first few notes are important for making an impression, the song fails. Let’s see if this problem will be fixed.

What I feel about this song is that he gots great vocals…but I dont know if the public love this kind of music. It’s not catchy…Finland 2023 and Croatioa 2024 were super catchy. Maybe he would do other Nemo, but I’m not so sure.

Okay, let’s play a game. Let’s pretend the bookmakers odds don’t exist because it seems people’s minds are just stuck on that and a lot of negativity comes out of it… I feel like if Belgium wasn’t first of the odds a lot of people would just say “yeah, it’s a nice song but nothing special. It could do a nice score but certainly not win”, for example. Instead we have “wtf is this song doing at the first place in the odds, it’s total garbage” because a lot of eurovision fans tend to be a little bit dramatic. PS:… Read more »

Rim tim tagi dim and the code set a bar a little to high last year for the quality of the song that can sit at 1st place in odds so we are not settling for anything less.

Not really, when Rim tim tagi dim won the national selection and was climbing at the odds everyone was bashing his as well, they were mocking the outfit, the vocals were quite bad in the beginning, production wise it was much much worse than strobe lights but thankfully imrpoved a lot until the actual contest.

Girl, I was here then. They were bashing him for his vocals and outfit but no one said that the song wasn’t a winning material. With strobe lights is other way around. His vocals and performance don’t need improving, they are good. But they are not winning material.

Why is everyone so obsessed about the odds and Belgium being in number 1? There’s only 7 acts revealed, so the odds are based on nothing… untill all acts are known. It’s annoying to hear this over and over again.

When it comes to televoting, Belgium votes a lot for The Netherlands no matter the quality.

Us Dutchies only spam votes for our neighbours when we think they have a good song. So, one year France could get the most televote points from us. Another year, it could be Germany. Another year it could be Belgium. Etc. When we think our neighbours don’t have a good song, we still vote for them, but usually within the 4-6 points range.

Again, not pretending we’re gonna win because I don’t think it’s gonna happen but I can really see this in the top 10 and maybe even not far from the 5th place. It reminds me of (sort of) Hatari from Iceland. It will do well in televoting, I am just not sure how far it can go. It’s very different but I still don’t get winning vibes, perhaps a Top-10 at best (with better staging, the platform was of no use).

Jelle or Stefanie would’ve been my winners honestly

Jelle: Loreen vibes but with a very nice Lasgo signature sauce, especially the ”monster monster” and ”under under” lyrics are very catchy

Stefanie: not fabricated for esc, real music, timeless music, artsy and such divine vocal skills, like how Bart Callaert said, a song like amar pelos dois you also wouldn’t had expected to win esc, but this comes across just as genuine and real

Lenn maybe not the most perfect singer, but he has an unique voice, and air balloon instantly makes me happy, also a nice staging with the bricks

A great choice for Belgium. I think they found a good way to stage it which is where Belgium have messed up big time in the past.
Also, I want to mention that LEEZ was incredible this evening. The song wasn’t the best, but the staging and vocals were impressive. A very well deserved 2nd place.

I’m sense huge potential here. If the Code could come 5th with the public and still win Eurovision so can this. The odds might be inflated but the juries could appreciate this. It’s hard to tell but certainly I think this is my favourite Belgian entry in a while. Well done Sebastian!

Surprised that Le Manou came last! Did not expect that at all. I thought it would have had a lot more love with its old skool house vibes.

The one that one…..what can I say. Not Belgium finest moment. I can honestly see this not making the final. The melody is hard to decipher because all the sounds have been thrown together and they’re all battling each other. I can see why everyone voted this and there likely won’t be anything else like it this year.
