The Eurovision 2025 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.
New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 7 part 1
With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 2 here.
alyona alyona – “Дві душі”
Last year, alyona alyona and Jerry Heil made Ukraine proud. This week, in celebration of love, alyona alyona released “Two Souls.” In this song, she once again proves her outstanding rap skills while also showcasing her sensitivity. It’s a track about the challenges that arise when two souls are separated by physical distance — but also about how overcoming that distance is often more than worth it.
The music video is filled with beautiful metaphors, such as a train symbolising the journey, as well as train station scenes that represent fleeting moments of hellos and goodbyes. These visuals emphasise the idea of coming and going — the joy of waiting for a loved one and the sadness of parting with the person who completes your soul. About the message behind her newest song, alyona alyone said:
“’Two Souls’ is a song about the power of love that makes us overcome any distance. Sometimes you leave everything behind, rush across cities and countries just for one moment with your loved one. But it is this moment that fills, inspires and gives a feeling of true happiness. Because when two souls are drawn to each other, no obstacles matter.”
Puuluup – “Üksinda tantsima”
Puuluup competed in Eurovision last year for Estonia alongside 5MIINUST. Their newest song, “To Dance Alone,” is a refreshing track that slowly gets you moving. While the rhythm isn’t too fast, it makes for the perfect soundtrack for a walk, carrying an almost mystical, authentic traditional vibe. About the song, the band said:
“’Üksinda tantsima’ from the upcoming album is out now. The song is about how important it is to go dancing – even if you lack the courage and have no idea what your dream dance partner thinks about it.”
LOBODA – “Інстинкт”
This week brings numerous songs released on Valentine’s Day, and LOBODA’s track, “Instinct,” is one of them. Given her participation in Eurovision 2009 for Ukraine, you were probably expecting something new from her on this special day. Her latest song is an energetic and modern track, yet it retains a distinctly authentic Ukrainian essence in its sound. LOBODA’s voice perfectly embraces the composition, making it a powerful expression of the most intense emotions: “Think twice, then choose your life / Without me or the one I am in?” She’s ready to give an ultimatum, refusing to settle for less when her instinct tells her not to stay.
Lara Fabina, Lauri Ylönen, Il Divo and more – “Oh What A Dream We Had”
Lara, who represented Luxembourg in 1988, and Lauri from The Rasmus, who represented Finland in 2022, come together on this powerful song. The track is an outstanding ballad created for a charitable cause, where the two former Eurovision artists are joined by international voices like Il Divo, Billy Ray Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, and many others.
The song is part of the Billion Streams for Charity campaign, aimed at raising awareness and preventing cancer.
Kalomira – “14/02”
Kalomira represented Greece in 2008. This week, she returns with a song that, despite its uplifting sound, is actually a breakup anthem. The lyrics explore how life changes after someone walks out of it and how this feeling becomes even more lonesome on February 14th. The song poignantly states: “You told me: / ‘Forever, I’ll be here’ / Yet you disappeared.” As heartbreak hits differently on Valentine’s Day, this one is for all the broken hearts out there.
Duncan Laurence & Karin Ann – “choking on my words”
Duncan Laurence, who won Eurovision for the Netherlands in 2019, has released a heart-breaking song this week in collaboration with Karin Ann from Slovakia. If your heart is broken and filled with regrets, this is the song for you.
In terms of composition, the track has it all: an indie vibe, a radio pop feel, two voices that complement each other perfectly, Duncan’s rap, violins — everything you could ask for. The lyrics are deeply sensitive: “I’ve been here before / Living off cigarettes / Wake up every morning / Drenched in my regrets / Only thing you left / Is blank space in my bed.”
Kaiti Garbi – “An me Agapas Deiks’ To”
Kaiti competed for Greece in 1993. Her newest song, “If You Love Me, Show It,” is all about not settling for less — about wanting to be adored as you deserve. Filled with confidence, the song belongs to the Greek pop-folk genre, accompanied by a music video where Kaiti looks absolutely fierce. Radiant and empowering, the song explores different sides of a relationship, with lyrics that encourage expressing feelings more freely and showing love without hesitation.
Andrei Ursu – “Cântece de Inimă Vol.2”
Andrei Ursu, who represented Romania in Eurovision 2022 under his stage name WRS, dropped his new EP Songs for Heart, vol. 2 this week. Since he previously released most of these songs as singles, you might already be familiar with some of them.
Andrei continues with the retro Romanian music style, taking you back in time to a café in Bucharest. While some of the tracks are bittersweet, others are uplifting and will bring a smile to your face. Even though there’s a shift from the style you might be used to hearing from Andrei, his warm voice will make you fall in love with this EP, which opens a door to the history of Romanian music with a modern twist.
The EP features two collaborations: first, with Eva Timush on “Să mă iubești” (Love Me), and second, with Romanian star Andra (who attempted to represent Romania in 2007) on “De-ai fi în locul meu” (If You Were in My Place), a song that topped the Romanian charts and trended on YouTube.
Jessy Matador – “ISABELLA”
Jessy competed for France in 2010. Just like his Eurovision song, his latest release has an absolutely addictive sound — you won’t even realize when you start moving. The song, sung in French, is full of energy and colour, making it the perfect banger.
Rita Guerra – “Nas Pontas dos Pés”
Rita competed for Portugal in 2003. Her song, “On Tiptoes,” is one of those tracks perfectly crafted for this week of love. The lyrics speak about living cautiously, as if on tiptoes, until love sweeps you off your feet and life truly begins: “And at that moment / I feel the emotion / In a kiss that kills me / And devours my heart.” This powerful ballad, paired with a beautifully aesthetic music video, will enchant you as you lose yourself in its dreamy melody.
Ralfs Eilands – “Nemirstīgie”
Ralf competed at Eurovision in 2007 for Latvia as part of the pop band PeR. His newest song is called “The Immortals.” The music video is a throwback to the “good old days.” The song speaks about living life to the fullest, making it unforgettable because this is what makes you feel immortal: “That’s how it was, that’s how it’ll be / Immoral, endless, no one’s taking this from me.”
Gaitana – “Can’t Look Back”
Gaitana represented Ukraine in 2012, and this week, she brings us the perfect love song. With a jazzy soul vibe and her warm voice, the lyrics speak about not being able to resist the power of love when it takes over. The song has that James Bond soundtrack glam, with a touch of something dark and sexy.
BERMUDU DIVSTŪRIS – “MINIMUMS”
Bermudu Divstūris represented Latvia in Eurovision under the name Musiqq in 2011. Their new song is a party anthem, and the music video features some iconic scenes from their concerts. The song is all about being adventurous and carefree, about not settling for the minimum but going for the “maximum, maximum, maximum.” Currently, their concert schedule is packed, and they’re still adding more dates, so there are plenty of chances to hear their latest hits and celebrate with them live.
Noa Kirel – “Like What You See”
Noa Kirel represented Israel in 2023, and she’s ready to claim her pop queen crown. Her newest song is a banger — both a love anthem and a confidence booster all in one. In the music video, she once again showcases not only her incredible voice but also her impressive dance moves. The lyrics express playfulness and confidence: “You like what you see? / I like what you see too / You look at me? / I’m looking at me too.” The song is all about loving others, but first and foremost, loving yourself.
Laura Põldvere & AG – “Miskit Muud (M&M’s)”
Laura represented Estonia twice: first in 2005 as part of the girl group Suntribe, and then again in 2017, in a duet with Koit Toome. This week, she has another duet, but this time with AG, on a song that’s as sweet as a pack of M&M’s.
The song, “Something Else,” has an energetic dance sound, while the music video takes you to the middle of a crazy local talent show, where everyone is celebrating together (or not). The video is funny, and the song has a sweet sound that makes it unforgettable.
The song is also a parody, focusing on the importance of loving someone for who they truly are, not for their money, satirising those who come together solely for financial gain.
Deep Zone Project & Milena – “Истина”
Deep Zone Project competed for Bulgaria in 2008 alongside Balthazar. This time, they’ve collaborated with Milena, sharing love and concert memories through a colourful video for an upbeat, feel-good song.
The track, “Truth,” is a famous Bulgarian song by Milena that now gets a fresh, modern sound.
