A new weekend is upon us, and so is Melodifestivalen 2025 heat 4, where we this week are returning to last year’s Eurovision arena in Malmö to find the two next finalists. The six week Melfest tour of six Swedish cities will eventually decide, who will represent Sweden at Eurovision in Basel in May.

You can listen to each song in full length now, which means it’s time for one thing: To name your favourite.

Click on the artist’s song title below to listen to their song. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many artists as you’d like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to tick the box next to each act you want to support.

You can also watch 30 second snippets of the performances here.

Melodifestivalen 2025 heat 4

  2. Ella Tiritiello – “Bara du är där”
Authors: Adam ”Rymdpojken” Englund, David Björk, Loreen Talhaoui

  3. Tennessee Tears – “Yours”

  4. KAJ – “Bara bada bastu”
Authors: Anderz Wrethov, Axel Åhman, Jakob Norrgård, Kevin Holmström, Kristoffer Strandberg, Robert Skowronski

  5. AmenA – “Do Good Be Better”
Authors: AmenA, Sandra Bjurman, Stefan Örn

  6. Måns Zelmerlöw – “Revolution”
Authors: David Lindgren Zacharias, Måns Zelmerlöw, Ola Svensson, Sebastian Atas

Format of Melodifestivalen 2025

30 acts participate in Melfest 2025 split into 5 heats of six acts each. The number 1 and 2 placed acts from each heat qualify directly to the grand final in Stockholm, and the three lowest placed acts are finished in the competition. This make up for the first 10 acts qualifying for the grand final

The number 3 placed entries of each heat will have their fate decided in a Final Qualification held in connection with heat 5. The five songs will compete for 2 tickets to the grand final decided by the percentage of votes each entry got in their heat plus the amount of votes they get in the Final Qualification.

12 songs compete in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen held in Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on 8 March.

Melodifestivalen is hosted by Kristina ”Keyyo” Petrushina and Edvin Törnblom.

Who is your favourite in this heat? Are any of these acts the one you want to see go all the way to Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below.

Oh!! Another duel between Sweden and Finland in ESC! I can not wait to see all fans go crazy when they claim

  • Revolution is so much worse than Heroes
  • All Swedish songs are overproduced radio crap
  • As a previous winner Måns should not be allowed to participate
  • The jury is bought by Sweden.
  • Finland is soooo fantastic and original.

Well, well (gasp) – the outcome will be the same. Welcome to Malmö 2026!

Mans is a shoo-in. While swedes rarely send songs in Swedish direct to finale, KAJ was super likeable and I would have them in my top 2 personally. Then Andreas to second chance.

And while I don’t love her song, mad respect for AmenA for entering melfest as a hijabi. You don’t see that very often, and women in music are especially pressured to perform in very revealing outfits. We love to see the proof that these contests are for everyone.

“Revolution ” is not that bad now. Easily the best of the heat. But the best in Mello this year? I wait for Scarlett….

Tenesse Tears was good but think people cluld forget it. Still number three though.

Honestly? It’s Bara Bada Bastu for me. It feels so incredibly refreshing to hear a fun song in swedish (and finnish!) instead of the standard pop that they always send. Måns’ song is a good example of that – we’ve heard it a million times already and there’s nothing special about it. He’s gonna go through for sure, but I don’t see this being something that people vibe with.

So many weird takes in the chat, but hey that is what happens when a song of any merit enters a weak year of both melfest and eurovision (so far). People start shaking in thier boots. It happened with Loreen and is happening here too. In a eurovision year with many “out there” or downright bad choices a clean 9/10 pop song could do well. I understand all of you who want something weird and fun scream at songs like revolotion but like, its Måns Zelmerlöw not Verka Serduchka, what did you expect?

I saw Mans rehearsal performance with the TV rendering and it’s nice, it’s dark, it’s conceptual, it’s very Sasha JB.
It is the most elaborated staging in Melfest 2025 so far…
Does it elevate the song, not really, but it’s largely enough to go DTF and to fight again for the Melfest win imo, Eurovision would be another story…
I prefer largely Greczula or Erik song to be fair, but objectively I can see Mans vs Greczula fighting for the win (so far).

Well, that was too much fuss for nothing. “Revolution” is an average dated but well-produced song, that would likely go completely unnoticed if it was performed by anyone else but a previous Eurovision winner. Sure, it can win Melodifestivalen, but it shouldn’t be considered as a potential ESC winner, even in a not very competitive year like 2025. If Mans returns indeed this year, this feels more like an Alexander Rybak rather than a Loreen kind of return.

I didn’t compare the songs! The only comparison I wanted to make is the fact that they both return with noticeably weakest songs than the ones that gave them the victory and the main reason for winning their national finals (if Måns wins) seems to be the name of the artist and not the actual song. Dana International would be another such example.

In most of those cases fan support was based on studio versions of songs that didn’t translate equally well in live performances. Blanca Paloma and Gåte are the only exceptions of songs that I consider a bit more “niche” and end up having very loyal vocal fans, but that doesn’t even reflect the actual community. “Telemovéis” was a similar example. These end up being hit or miss in the end.

It can push a song to the final, especially now with the 100% televoting but that’s where the community power ends imo. ESC final is a different kind of beast with large televoting figures in many countries, mostly from people that are listening to the songs (and watching them which is also very important) for the very first time. Sure, songs nowadays get more pre-contest exposure to larger audiences through social media but this is often biased and not indicative of their final result.

And Croatia 2021 technically qualified with both votes, but then it didn’t – the peculiarities of the voting system. If you follow what I’m saying it’s very clear: fans can give a push for songs to qualify to the final, but I only take fan support seriously if a song has already been performed live… Read more »

“Revolution” is a ok song, but it doubt that it will do anything in ESC. And I’m saying that as someone, who used to be a big fan of Mans. But I feel like in the last few years he was doing everything, but not focusing on music. I mean, tv show about being a gentlemen, producing wine, judging people singing in ridiculuos masks? – that’s good for a some b-class celebrity, not a successful musician and singer. After 2-3 years after esc he was really doing something for his musical carreer, albums in 2015 and 2016, a lot of… Read more »

Based on this it’s still Klara by a long shot for me. We’ll see how it all looks on stage!

Tennessee Tears are the standouts here for me. Their 2023 entry was one of my favourites that year, and ‘Yours’ got me straight away, so I’m happy to see them back. ‘Vicious’ sounds like fun. Revolution, whilst i don’t think sounds necessarily bad, it does sound like something we’ve all heard before, though I’m fairly sure they’ll go balls to the wall with the staging to try and sell it even more.

Finland is clearly overhyped. Erika should be happy will qualifiying for the final, and breaking into top 10 is kinda like the best that song could hope for. Winning for “Ich comme” shouldn’t even be on anyone’s mind (despite Erika being a lovely women).

I love Måns, and I’m sure he’s aiming for a 10 years later win, like Loreen (albeit hers was 11), but there is an arrogance in thinking you can breeze through on such an average formulaic song, when we have an eclectic bunch of performers so far this year willing to take risks and divide opinion, be that with a tantalising performance, risqué lyrics, traditional storytelling, or alternative genres.

Remember his Hope and Glory? He really thought he was going to Moscow that year.

Yeah, after that year he is more humble. That year was really all about him and his winning song. Even in 2015 he downplayed his chances and said what happens happens. He is very much the same this year .

I don’t know… he says himself that he was arrogant in 2009, and won’t make that mistake again. He really thought he was gonna win that year, then Greta’s mom came along,

Mans will easily win Melfest, and also a contender in Basel

do think Greczula will be 2nd place, and Erik Segerstedt in 3rd place

Mans really won’t win Eurovision based on what we have heard. I still want Klara to take it and I think I prefer KAJ in this heat

I’m rooting for Klara too, but then I wasn’t so keen on her snippet either. Who knows, maybe Måns will blow us all away!

Everyone is so confident Mans is going to win the whole thing on name recognition alone, but do we forget how many times previous melfest winners have done poorly in the final? Not to mention Loreen, who was a melfest AND Eurovision winner and still didn’t even reach the finals back in 2017. “Oh but Swedes LOVE Mans”, they loVE Eric Saade too, and boo lost against a newcomer Not even trying to hate, but let’s be real, Revolution sounds very generic and a cheap (in the snipet at least), had it been from any other artist it’d be absolute… Read more »

The Mans song obviously doesn’t have the impact that Tattoo had. Maybe he can sell it on stage, but I don’t see it winning the whole thing. At this point it starts to look good for Finland and France (can’t wait to hear the song).

It’s starting to look like Mans will rather repeat Rybak’s 2nd eurovision result then Loreen’s hehe
