Tonight we will find two new finalists in Melodifestivalen heat 4 in last year’s Eurovision city Malmö, and according to our poll you readers want to send a former Eurovision winner through to the final.

The 2015 ESC champion Måns Zelmerlöw won the poll with almost 35% of the total votes followed by Finnish humour group KAJ in second. If you could decide out there, you would send former Alcazar frontman Andreas Lundstedt through to the Final Qualification round in third place.

Result of Melodifestivalen heat 4 poll

  1. Måns Zelmerlöw – “Revolution” – 34.48% (572 votes)
  2. KAJ – “Bara bada bastu” – 26.64% (442 votes)
  3. Andreas Lundstedt – “Vicious” – 13.74% (228 votes)
  4. Tennessee Tears – “Yours” – 10.85% (180 votes)
  5. Ella Tiritiello – “Bara du är där” – 8.86% (147 votes)
  6. AmenA – “Do Good Be Better” – 5.42% (90 votes)

Total votes: 1,659

We will be back tonight with our live discussion article from 19.15 CET.

Who is your favourite to go through from the Malmö heat? Could our poll winner Måns Zelmerlöw go all the way to Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below.

Only just realised that KAJ’s song was co-written by Mr Wrethov. And now I can’t unhear ‘bara bada bastu bastu’ being a slightly faster version of ‘let me be your tempo tempo’. 😛

Still cool song though.

he probably did not have much to do with the song anyways, they just had to put his name in to even get a chance to compete more or less…otherwise they would’ve probably been rejected by SVT…

That will likely be the top three, unless something unusual happens. Good luck to everybody tonight.

Mans winning Eurovision again would at least cause another hilarious fan meltdown?

Is that what this song is about?

It should be, the legend is it was created after world war 2 to unite people. Dont see how showcasing a country that has k11ed more children in a year than any war in the last 50 years is doing that

I normally wait until the Sat night, but I caved and listened to Revolution. It’s not bad. I like it. The same vague spirit of Heroes, with its inspiring and empowering but ultimately unclear message.

Seems like a pretty exhausting song to perform live, tonight will be a test. I wonder if there will be a balloon boy type mascot for the staging. He must be a teenager by now.

“Beautiful people like you”
“Anything is possible”
“People that will change the world”
I’m not really inspired and empowered by this flatness personally…
The musical arrangement feels dated except at the end.
No I’m really not convinced, the only things that save this a bit for me are Mans himself as he is a good performer and the conceptual SJB staging, but that’s all.

That’s enough. I’m not going to pretend like it’s a great work of art, but it’s not terrible. It’s enjoyable.

I can give you that, it’s not terrible, there are enjoyable aspects but imo there are other more interesting pieces of music in Melfest thid year that don’t get the attention they should cause they are not performed by a former esc winner, let’s be honest if this song came from a newcomer from Latvia or Iceland for ex, nobody would care of it.

I can’t find a ESC winner in any of these heats but whats even more strange is that I can’t find a ESC winner in any of the selected ESC songs so far.
2025 looks like it will be the year of the mid songs. Many three star songs this year. So a simple pop song like Revolution could go far in this mid year

What I heard from Netherlands Eurovision podcast if is true, sources who heard the song said that the song begin very intimate and build up very bombastic to the end and it have an African influence in the music. I think it sound very interesting. Let’s wait.

Well based on the Sanremo top 5 it would have never be Italy this year I think, maybe Lucio could stand out the most in Eurovision for Italy but his song even if nice is not very competitive I fear.

Ok Lucio is confirmed, that’s cool best option for Italy out of Sanremo top 5, good addition for Eurovision this year imo.

We need Arcade-like song, but seems not going to happen, since over half songs have selected and heard.

No. But sometimes in a weak year that is enough. Just look at 2013. Or 2017
