The Eurovision 2025 season is beginning to heat up. Over the course of the next few months, we will all fall in and out of love with scores of new national final and Eurovision entries. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 8

Joost – Unity (inc. “United By Music” with Tommy Cash)

It’s been a year of highs and lows for Joost. The Dutch performer has now captured all of this in his latest album Unity. The biggest high is certainly the inclusion of his viral Eurovision 2024 entry “Europapa,” which was a big favourite in the contest.

However, Joost’s time in Malmö was cut short following his disqualification. His thoughts about this event are captured in a number of the LP’s songs. A notable one of these is “United By Music,” a collaboration with Tommy Cash, Estonia’s selected entrant for Eurovision 2025. The pair take aim at Eurovision organisers (literally stating “F*ck the EBU”) and their hypocrisy to parade a banner of peace and unity whilst also allowing the contest to come under disrepute.

Throughout the song, Joost and Tommy also sing from the point of view of hypocritical organisations more generally, aiming to highlight their insincerity and two-facedness by using various examples: “I want to fly to Kyiv and go to Moscow / I wanna vote Kamala and also vote Trump.” However, the decision to include certain lines has raised eyebrows for their lack of self-awareness: “I used to love McDonald’s, but I’m never going back / I know that I’m white, but I wish that I was —”

The song ends with the pair indicating they don’t mean any specific harm with its content: “Joost Klein, Tommy — that’s unity / This song is so funny, it’s not that deep.”

Hadise – “Fırtınam”

Hadise begins a new chapter with “Fırtınam” (“My Storm”). Türkiye’s Eurovision 2009 star is saying goodbye to a past failed relationship and is now creating a tempest to change the course of her life: “I’m leaving your life regardless of the pain / My storm erupted from where it broke in my heart.” In a post on social media, Hadise went into more detail about the start of this new journey:

“With ‘Fırtınam’, I entered a period where I rediscovered myself and you will hear this in the songs that will follow. Music is always a feeling for me… When I catch that feeling, when I find myself with the right songs, I move into an incredibly creative world. ‘Fırtınam’ came to me in 2019 but it is clearly the song of 2025. Some songs wait like this… I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our song and video. This is a team effort and I am proud of my team!”

Jerry Heil feat. Evgeny Khmara – “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ”

“I dissolve in you and coffee becomes honey / I dissolve in you and tea becomes stronger / I dissolve in you and our solution becomes a little bitter.”

This is the second single from Jerry Heil’s upcoming album. Ukraine’s Eurovision 2024 star delivers a song about love, where everyone can find their own story. “РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ” (“Dissolves”) is based on the poetry of Yuriy Izdryk (“Cycles” and “Solvere”) and was created in collaboration with virtuoso pianist Yevhen Khmara. Writing about this partnership in the music video’s description, Jerry Heil notes:

“‘РОЗЧИНЯЮСЬ’ is the result of a creative collaboration between three types of art: poetry, instrumental music, and vocals. I have long been fascinated by the work of Yuriy Izdryk – his poetry has always felt like songs to me, which simply don’t have melodies yet. I am also a fan of the incredible composer, Yevhen Khmara, so creating such a creative trio was a natural step. Difficult times have created a good trend – we are increasingly turning to artists who have gone down in history, we are inspired by them. However, it is equally important to support and know the work of those who create culture here and now, side by side with us. Working on this song was pure and unfiltered creative energy. I am infinitely grateful for this synergy, because this is how true art is born – through the interaction of different forms and souls.”

KEiiNO – “HALO”

“Be my religion / Something to die for / Heartache and ecstasy / If I should die for you / Show me your halo.”

KEiiNO are ready to take us to heaven — that is, Heaven the night club. Norway’s Eurovision 2019 group bring us a delicious electro-dance-pop tune that, as always, includes sprinklings of traditional joik and Sámi folk. In the visualiser’s description, KEiiNO reveal more about the song’s inspiration:

“Imagine it’s Sunday morning, the world is ending, and you’re partying at your favourite club. Amidst the chaos, you fall in love with a mysterious, alluring figure — a hot person you start to believe might actually be Saint Sebastian.”

This next song might sting a bit. Eurovision 2024 stars, Nebulossa, have teamed up with popular Spanish singer Mónica Naranjo for “Venenosa” (“Poisonous”) — an electropop track with a driving beat.

In the lyrics, Mery and Mónica have had enough of their partners’ lies and mistreatment. As a result, they’re letting the venom flow through their veins and are on the hunt for something else to satisfy their desires: “Against my own volition, I’ve become poisonous / Late at night, I’ve started having wet dreams / Wrapped in my pink bed sheets […] I never think about you anymore: I have other things in mind / I’ve become greedy / I was the toxic one.”

Flo Rida feat. Sage the Gemini – “OMG”

OMG! Flo Rida is back with a new single. San Marino’s Eurovision 2021 rapper calls on the help of two other acts for this particular track. The voice you hear in the chorus is American rapper Sage the Gemini. Meanwhile, in the production, you’ll notice a sample of War’s 1975 hit “Low Rider.”

The lyrics are very fiery. Flo Rida is truly setting things ablaze: “I mixed a little kerosene with a little gasoline / Stick around and watch me make your world light up / Oh my God, I think I’m on fire / I’m on top, and ain’t nobody higher.”

Sertab Erener – “Yokluğun Dokunmadı Bana”

Sertab Erener’s new song is titled “Yokluğun Dokunmadı Bana,” which in English translates to “Your Absence Did Not Touch Me.”

The lyrics see Türkiye’s Eurovision 2003 champion going through the aftermath of a break-up. The isolation without her ex-partner has not affected Sertab too much. However, she is constantly wondering whether the same is true of them or not: “How are you really / Since we haven’t met / Where are you now, what do you do / Didn’t you miss me at all / Didn’t you miss me / The devil inside me doesn’t keep quiet.”

Francesco Gabbani – Dalla tua parte

Following his eighth-place finish at Festival di Sanremo 2025, Francesco Gabbani is keeping the music alive with the release of his new studio album. Dalla tua parte (On your side) features ten songs — including his Sanremo entry “Viva la vita,” as well as other recent singles “Frutta Malinconia” and “Vengo a Fidarmi di te.” That means there are seven charming new songs for fans to dive into.

Kalomira – “Heartbreaker”

Following on from last week’s single “14/02,” Kalomira has another heartbreak anthem for us. A mid-tempo pop ballad with percussion accompaniment, Greece’s Eurovision 2008 singer is going through the difficult task of mending the fractures inside her: “You’re a heartbreaker / If you’re done taking taking our love apart / I’ll unbreak my heart.”

MELOVIN – “Твоя вина”

“And again to the start / And again to the finish / Tell me that you are here / That you believe in me / I will get drunk again to the pain of your fault / I know that all this is only your fault.”

MELOVIN is placing the blame firmly away from himself. Ukraine’s Eurovision 2018 star knows that recent failures have solely been down to another and he’s not afraid to call it out. “Твоя вина” (“Your fault”) is a powerful ballad, which MELOVIN reveals in the music video description is the next chapter of a continuing story:

“’Твоя вина’ is a kind of continuation of the hit ‘Обиратиму себе.’ This work will be the next step in the liberation of the soul. Mine and everyone who needs it. It is time to destroy the persistent dogma that there are always two to blame. Listen and allow yourself to feel the truth, live this pain and become free from what is destroying you. …and again to the start, and again to the finish line…”

Jeroen van der Boom – “Kamers Van Je Hart”

Dutch singer, Jeroen van der Boom, has released a new love ballad. “Kamers Van Je Hart” (“Rooms Of Your Heart”) sees the Eurovision 2009 alum hoping to find accommodation within the space inside the heart of a very special person.

Musically, the song starts as a piano ballad and proceeds to build to a swelling climax as extra instrumentation is added.

Waldo’s People feat. Jussi Rainio – “Sana vaan”

For most of his career, Waldo has sung in English — including at Eurovision 2009. However, following his time on Finnish TV show Vain elämää, the frontman of Waldo’s People has decided to start releasing more music in his native language. This begins with the retro dance tune “Sana vaan” (“Just a word”), which features additional vocals from Jussi Rainio. Waldo wrote more about his new musical journey on social media:

“I had the song in my desk box for years and it was originally in English. With the programme Vain elämää programme I got a feeling that it’s easier to interpret feelings in my own mother tongue. There’s a lot to say in my heart, so now we’re going to speak my native language. Thank you Jussi for being a part of it. I couldn’t imagine anyone else to sing exactly this song.”

Regína Ósk & Svenni Þór – Hjón

Eurovision 2008 alumna, Regína Ósk, has been working on a new musical project alongside her husband, Svenni Þór. Now complete, the Icelandic pair have shared Hjón (Couple). A country-inspired LP, there are eight tracks to enjoy — including recent singles “Hjá þér” and “Óvænt ferðalag.” Most of the tracks fall on the slower side of the tempo scale, offering a gentle listening experience.

Eric Papilaya feat. Louie Austen – “California Silhouette”

Eric Papilaya brings us a slice of electro funk. Austria’s Eurovision 2007 entrant has been enjoying life out on the California coast. Whilst there, he came across a silhouette that got his heart fluttering. Sadly, it turned into a missed opportunity that didn’t come to fruition: “You’re the one I wanted, babe / You’re the one I can’t forget / Saw your California silhouette / And I knew / We’re all made of stars / But no one shines like you.”

The song features a spoken word bridge courtesy of Austrian classically trained bar and jazz crooner, Louie Austen.

Ronela Hajati – “Te du fort”

Ronela Hajati’s latest song is “Te du fort” (“I love you very much”). It features on the soundtrack of the new Albanian film Dashuri me këste (Love in instalments).

An emotive ballad, the Eurovision 2022 star sings to the person she cherishes most in this world: “I love you so much, I love you so much / I don’t know how to say it better today / But when life tried us / I will tell it your name / Like God helped me.”

Aram MP3 – “Mi Sovorakan Tgha”

In addition to his hosting duties at Depi Evratesil last weekend, Aram MP3 also dropped a brand new song. “Mi Sovorakan Tgha” (“An Ordinary Boy”) is a retro ballad with ’80s-inspired orchestration that features soft synth accompaniment.

Writing on Instagram, Armenia’s Eurovision 2014 representative dedicated the song to his wife for Valentine’s Day: “I wish Balor to have such ‘unordinary’ feelings, not only today, but throughout her life.”

Lazarov feat. Tamara Todevska – “Patishta”

North Macedonia’s two-time Eurovision competitor, Tamara Todevska, features on the latest single by Lazarov. “Patishta” (“Roads”) is a song dedicated to those who are no longer with us, but it also discusses those who triumph in other people’s sorrow.

Todevska sings the intro and post-chorus: “Countless nights, how I haven’t slept / I don’t want to dream of you, I dream / I’m afraid again / Countless nights, I’ve sent you away / I’m already going crazy, I’m going crazy / Our pain.”

Estonian duo Púr Múdd recently collaborated with two-time Eurovision star Koit Toome. The three of them have produced a dance banger titled “Mälestused” (“Memories”).

Lyrically, the tune has a nostalgic feeling to it, with Toome looking back at his old life: “I found an old photo at the bottom of the drawer and stopped to look at the moments in my life, people, and myself. Then, by chance, I traveled back in time and saw myself again in the house where I grew up. The atmosphere is full of memories. I look at the good and the bad.”

Mihai Trăistariu

Mihai Trăistariu is going non-stop in 2025. Romania’s Eurovision 2006 performer is releasing a consistent stream of new songs at the moment. Over recent days, we’ve had another four from him — “E paranghelie, frate, azi,” “Români,” “Fantezie tropicală” and “Dor de mamă.”

Wow, there are so many great tracks here. (I’ll let everyone else comment on Joost Klein & Tommy Cash, since that’s inevitable.) Púr Múdd & Koit Toome – That dance track and the photo memories behind it really resonates with me personally, so thank you for making it. It’s amazing to hear that Koit still has a beautiful crystal clear voice after all these years; I still remember him from Birmingham 1998! KeiiNO – I really like “Halo” because it has Tom Hugo on most of the lead vocal, plus it’s a song about club-based imagery. They’re sound is getting… Read more »
