Herning is calling! Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will take place tonight in the Danish town. Eight acts will compete and one will earn the right to represent Denmark at Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — has touched down in the Nordic country. The last time Denmark performed at the final of Eurovision, none of us had heard the term ‘COVID-19’. Have we found a song to end that run of results? Read on to find out.

1. Sissal – “Hallucination”
Sissal’s “Hallucination” serves up a delicious slice of dance-pop nostalgia, echoing the iconic vibes of polished Scandipop of the 2010s with its infectious beats and soaring vocals. While some might call it a tad dated, it’s hard to resist a track that feels like a euphoric trip back to the golden era of Eurovision anthems. Denmark, don’t sleep on this one, Sissal might just be your ticket to a grand final berth for Denmark, finally!
2. Max Ulver – “Supernova”
3. Mariya – “I Belong to Me”
4. Andreas Kruse – “Hear My Prayer”
5. Tim Schou – “Proud”

1. Andreas Kruse – “Hear My Prayer”
Andrea’s song has the potential to be a win-win. Firstly, its dramatic and mysterious sound allows for creative staging, incorporating both static visual moments and dynamic elements, which could attract extra votes from the televote. On the other hand, the use of falsetto in the high notes might appeal to the jury, earning additional points. It’s a song with a well-rounded structure and strong radio potential.
2. Sissal – “Hallucination”
3. Maria Mathea – “Air”
4. Hervé Tour – “Allez allez”
5. Tim Schou – “Proud”

1. Tim Schou – “Proud”
It’s a really competitive field in Denmark this year, and I don’t see a clear standout among the pack. Truthfully, all eight songs have their merits but I’ve just given the edge to Tim Schou and the beautiful authenticity of this song. The lyrics have been crafted in a way which tell Tim’s individual story but the emotions it conjures can resonate with viewers of many different backgrounds and experiences. I found “Proud” to be impactful and introspective and I think Denmark could do a lot worse than sending something so genuine to Eurovision.

1. Sissal – “Hallucination”
I absolutely love this song, it’s my favorite in Denmark’s national selection and would be my absolute favourite of all songs up to now, if selected! Ever since I first heard it, I’ve had it on repeat and Sissal seems so nice and funny and is undoubtedly insanely talented. You can really hear her vocal power throughout the song, especially in the post-chorus, where everything stacks up beautifully. She has that Jess Glynne meets Adele tone, bringing so much depth and character to the track. The songwriting team behind “Hallucination” is top-tier, including Melanie Wehbe, Marcus Winther-John, and Linnea Deb who worked on this at a songwriting camp for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Both Melanie and Linnea do backing vocals and lead dubs on the track, but make no mistake — Sissal can absolutely carry herself. This is the kind of song that could elevate Denmark at Eurovision, and I really hope they make the right choice! Twelve points from me go to Sissal and “Hallucination”.
2. Mariya – “I Belong to Me”
3. Tim Schou – “Proud”
4. Andreas Kruse – “Hear My Prayer”
5. Adel the Second – “The Unluckiest Boy Alive”
What do you think of the songs competing at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025? Can any of these entries take Denmark back to the final? Let us know in the comments below.
Air…is the best song. But Danes like jolly, clappy stuff. So it’ll be Hallucination..
The jolly, clappy argument is right, but this is why Tim Schou will likely win unless the jury tanks him like with Basim last year.
Hallucination is the best option
“Polished” alright. My faves are “I Belong To Me”, “Air”, “Allez allez” and “Proud”.
Day 512, 59 h ostages, #BringThemAllHomeNow
Yes, #BringThemAllHomeNow !!!!
Ill be so happy, if Andreas Kruse – “Hear My Prayer” wins. Good luck. Im hoping for good performance.
I’ll be rooting for Adel The Second. It’s the most refreshing and uplifting song out of the bunch, such a good indie pop tune that instantly grabbed my attention with that piano riff.
Andreas Kruse and Tim Schou, who I think might win because will be familiar to the audience, would be my alternative options.
I don’t get the hype with Sissal, the song sounds like a reject from Melfest. Not bad, but just average Scandipop. You better taste something different, Denmark and some fans always go for the same kind of acts…
they should be wise and pick tim’s song, it’s the only one that doesn’t sound like a chatgpt byproduct
there is no way I will vote Tim. It’s one of our worst options period
his song is the only one I don’t like from this selection, my last place of this year’s DMGP in fact. It would be just my luck that it will end up winning tonight, but I hope not.
How can I watch the show tonight?
Sissal song would have been a lot better if it had less repeats of Hallucination and more lyrical verses.
Tim Schou is winning this
