Adonxs is an exciting and multifaceted artist who was internally selected to represent Czechia at Eurovision 2025 with his song “Kiss Kiss Goodbye“. Known for his androgynous style, powerful bass voice, and emotive songwriting, Adonxs is ready to fly the Czech flag in Basel this year.

But what is his real name? Wasn’t he in the band PACE? And of course, is he a street dance champion? We find out everything and more, in our 10 interesting facts about this years Czech singer, Adonxs.

Let’s do this.

1. Adam from Slovakia

Adonxs was born as Adam Pavlovčin on September 13, 1995, in Myjava, Slovakia. From a young age, Adonxs was drawn to both dancing and singing, inspired by his older sister. He joined a junior dance crew and began taking singing lessons.

2. Champion Street Dancer

Despite his vocal challenges, Adonxs turned to dance, becoming a five-time Slovak Champion in street dance, competing in both junior and adult categories.

3. Rediscovered His Love for Singing

After a period of focusing on dancing, Adonxs rediscovered his passion for singing and moved to Prague to receive classical vocal training from opera singer Hana Pecková. Later, Adonxs attended the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in London, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Songwriting and Creative Musicianship, graduating with first-class honours.

4. Struggled Financially in London

During his time in London, Adonxs struggled to pay for tuition and living expenses. He worked various jobs to make ends meet while pursuing his music degree.

5. First Song at 18

At 18, Adonxs wrote his first song, “Speechless Boy”, which became a part of his public coming-out process. He also released a low-budget music video for it.

6. Formed the Band PACE

While in high school, Adonxs co-founded the genre-bending music group PACE with his classmate, now film composer Adrián Čermák. The group later expanded internationally. In 2018, PACE released their debut EP, Keeper, blending baroque pop with orchestral elements. The band performed in London’s venues and festivals before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted their plans.

7. Winner of SuperStar

In 2021, Adonxs won SuperStar, the joint Czech-Slovak version of Idols, becoming the first openly queer winner of the competition. Adonxs is an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. His win on SuperStar helped pave the way for more queer entertainers to come out in Czechia and Slovakia. Known for wearing gender-nonconforming outfits on stage, Adonxs stirred up controversy on the show, famously wearing a translucent dress. He has said, “Clothes have no gender.”

8. Debut

In 2022, Adonxs released his debut solo single, “Moving On”. The song topped the SK Top 50 Chart, marking his first major success as a solo artist. Adonxs’ debut solo album, Age of Adonxs, released in November 2022, was praised as the best album of 2022 in Slovakia by Musicserver. The album reflects themes of self-love, heartbreak, and moving on.

9. Exploring Gender Fluidity

Adonxs chose his stage name as a tribute to Adonis, the Greek god of beauty and desire, whose androgynous depiction reflects Adonxs’ own exploration of gender fluidity.

Also, we have to mention.

10. Activism Through Art

In his music video for “Overthinker”, Adonxs tackled the Adonis complex, raising awareness about body dysmorphia and the insecurities men face about their physical appearance.

Good singer, and a sure qualifier but this performance and his voice are very Duncan Laurence, the song itself also seems a combination of Duncan songs, but without that special something… He needs to develop his own style to make it believable. But maybe the music video and final performance will change my mind. And please, please…don’t turn it into a dance track?.
