All eyes turn to the host nation of Eurovision 2025 — Switzerland. The country’s representative, Zoë Më, has now unveiled the entry she’ll be performing on home soil in May, titled “Voyage.”

The Basel-born singer delivers a soft and delicate French-language ballad.

Speaking previously about the chance to perform at Eurovision, Zoë noted:

“Representing Switzerland at the ESC while we are hosting the contest is a huge honour and a surreal experience. I’m from Basel, and my grandparents live here. This is a full-circle moment, just like something out of a fairytale.”

At 1.80 metres tall, Zoë Më describes herself as a “little fairy” with a deep connection to two cultures.

She sings in both German and French, blending poetic pop with ‘chanson’. Born in Basel, she lived in Germany before moving with her family to Fribourg in 2009. She began writing her own songs at the age of 10, and her love for the French language soon began to shape her musicality; which she nurtured through school, friendships, and personal passion.

Her ability to bridge cultures through music has earned her widespread recognition. In 2024, she was awarded ‘SRF 3 Best Talent’ and ‘RTS Artiste Radar’. Her bilingual EP Dorienne Gris led to performances at prestigious festivals, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and Luzern Live.

What do you think of Zoë Më’s song for Eurovision? Can Switzerland do the double and win again? Let us know in the comments below.

This song is beautiful, don’t know why this is so low in rank with the bookies. This is why we need a balace of jury and televoting in both semi final and final , ( yes this is in the final they are the hosts before someone corrects me) the generation x generation don’t go for ballads anymore because you can’t fit a ballad within a 20 second tik tok clip. Yes the younger generation judge by what they hear for 20 seconds, current research found this is evident across the age range.

That’s why I talk to you, considering parcel is in the German speaking part of Switzerland, but I’ll take this. I think this may be the first time in modern Eurovision history that all of the pre-qualifiers are singing in their international language. This may actually be the most linguistically diverse Eurovision since the language role was lifted in 1999. I may have to do a little study tracking linguistic diversity since 1999 To determine if 2025 is the most linguistically diverse year of the 21st century.

This is the spiritual successor to Sobral. It made me cry hard. It’s a stunning entry. The first 2 minutes are like an emotional lullaby and the final minute is unusual and powerful, finishing with the stunning choir led 3rd chorus.

A masterpiece. Perhaps even better than Zjerm.

Disregarding my previous tasteless comment, I think Switzerland might be on track for a consecutive victory this year.
This is an incredibly splendid and captivating, yet gentle and soothing ballad that will surely produce a memorable moment in May, and I truly mean it, I say this as a person who understands neither German nor French 🙂

She’s not there to win the contest, but I think she can pull out a top 10 result. There are almost 30 songs which are worse. Most are mess and noisy. She is classic, quiet, simple. It can work for her.

That’s why I said might, she’s not there to win it but a win for her wouldn’t be far-fetched given that there’s not that many entries that are “better” (to say a word) than hers

Delicate, elegant and heartfelt. This provides a much needed oasis among the bombast this year. A dark horse which if staged well could soar. This is my number one this year. This will be first Swiss entry by a woman ‘in the final’ since 2011!

I’ll risk it but, I seriously believe this is the best ballad we’ve gotten in Eurovision since Salvador Sobral in 2017. I don’t think the public can recognise such high quality in soft ballads anymore but hopefully Switzerland actually fights for victory once again. There’s a raw, unfiltered genuineness in Zoë’s voice and I absolutely love the entry. It’s dreamy, relaxing and soothing, sonically velvety and pleasant. This year’s winner MUST be a ballad, with the only exception being Bada Bara Bastu from the more fun, joyful songs.

Yeah I agree it is rare to hear a ballad that is so soft at Eurovision, though “Voyage” does nevertheless have a dark edge to it (which I’ll try to explain in the Wiwi Jury). Something else to ponder on: 2020 would have been an amazing year for ballads, though most of those were power ballads, if only that year wasn’t cancelled. “Fai Rumore” was just wow, plus I miss the unique “Alcohol You”, the elegant “Fall from the Sky”, the cold pain of “Release Me”, and even though these are not technically ballads: “Attention, “Voda”, “Répondez Moi” and “Tears… Read more »

Simply beautiful. I know it’s not a Christmas song but in first listen, it reminded me of Christmas. One “John Lewis” might use in one of it’s adverts if they had european branch of store. I’m not sure how I feel about listening to a winterly feeling song in mid May but well done Switzerland for a lovely quality ballad.

They are the new Russia. I used to be very dubious about listening to their entry and know how they treat some of their people. This entry by the I-country was good. Surprisingly good. Not a winner. Possibly top 10. Then again the songs are not just 35 songs at random. They actually represent their own country. I

Oh wow, what a beautiful song! I was not expecting that so late in the season. Bravo to Switzerland; I particularly like the sweet refrains and the tension building towards the end. The lyrics are coincidentally very relevant to my life right now, gosh, that’s almost too real! This ticks all my personal “songwriting boxes”, so thanks very much. It’s not a “winning song” for ESC, but I personally really like it 🙂

There is this official description as follows (but wait for the Wiwi Jury to read what I really think the lyrics might be about, haha): “Voyage is intended to be an invitation to look at life with more humanity, openness and compassion. The song is described as a musical embrace and an outstretched hand; encouraging us to meet hate with love, to allow tenderness and to recognise the beauty of the moment. Voyage has been written as a reminder that people become their best version of themselves when they are treated with compassion and care, with Zoë Më singing about… Read more »

It fits the press release, yes. I’m not as convinced by it when I look at the song myself; there’s much more inner depth going on here, and (spoiler alert) the music seems to depict a hidden inner struggle as well. So it’s much more than just about “life is a flower”; there is a longer “voyage” in the song. If anything, I think the press release undersells it.

Voyage. Journey from A to B to M to Z. The long road to self acceptance. Gay people, stop checking yourself, hiding your inner being. Come out of that closet and shine.

With that, I think this is the first time that all the Eurovision pre-qualifiers, the big five and the host country, are sending songs in their national languages. I admit I wish Switzerland was sending a song in German because Basel is a German speaking country, but like I said earlier, it’s great to hear so many countries sending songs to their national language this year, probably the most ever since the language rule was lifted in 1999. Once Cyprus, France, and Georgia release their songs by the end of this week, I will present my findings on languages at… Read more »

That’s a very good song, artistic, well-produced, well-sung, more like the soundtrack of a movie.

Now, I don’t know if this is suitable for Eurovision or not, it’s certainly not televote-friendly. It’s up to the juries to decide if Switzerland will land right or left on the scoreboard.

Don’t get me wrong. The song is very high-quality. However, I find it a bit repetitive with no exciting climax. But I can’t ignore its artistic value.

Good luck Suisse / Schweiz / Svizzera / Svizra
