Who are KEiiNO?
It is undeniable that these three adore our beloved Eurovision Song Contest. KEiiNO are a trio of Tom, Fred and Alexandra, and are knwon for high-energy camp pop mixed with Sami influences. The technique of ‘joiking’ from the indigineous people in Norway is used by Fred in their entries, a fabulous contrast with the styling of the tracks. They are synonimous with the contest now, with fans surprised if they AREN’T there in some capacity.
KEiiNO first entered Norway’s selection as a 3 in 2019 with “Spirit In The Sky”. The track was an instant hit with Eurovision fans, with them being early favourites to win. They breezed through their heat to make it to the final. The group smashed it, getting just shy of 100,000 votes in the super final. At Eurovision 2019 itself, they got an even more impressive televote, getting first place from fans in the continent. The jury score underrated the band but they still got 6th place – an incredible feat for them.
They’ve gone on to have more iconic Norwegian national selection entries, coming second in both of their subsequent attempts to go back to Eurovision. Their first “Monument” was a huge anthem which Eurofans adored. The entry had huge moments which people really thought would bring them back. Sadly, they jsut missed out, with Tix taking the ticket to Rotterdam. Their next try was last year in 2024 with ultra-camp bop “Damdiggida”, which missed out by just 6 points in the MGP final. Can we expect them to try again at MGP? We certainly hope so, and like we say…KEiiNO are never too far from Eurovision.

Oh they will destroy the place once Spirit starts…
I wasn’t keen on SitS pre esc2019. It was only the live performance when everything clicked. Now it’s still on my playlist six years later. OMG.
