Denmark….what a vocal and the best Schlager song in 2025. Sweden…finally sending a Swedish language song and it is a ton of fun. Finland….great staging where no one will be able to leave their seats when it’s being performed. Iceland and Norway….your songs are just decent because the rowing/lighter imagery lets it down a bit.

I like Norway and Finland best. Sweden is fun but I’m a bit over it already. Denmark is nice but a bit dated. And Iceland is my least favorite of the bunch but I don’t dislike it.

The most overhyped just because it is Sweden. It is an ok joke entry, nothing more

I’m a bit torn, can’t choose a favorite between Finland and Sweden this time.
As for the rest, Iceland has a solid bop and both Denmark and Norway are okay

  1. Sweden-Bara Bada Bastu (KAJ)
  2. Norway-Lighter (Kyle Alessandro)
  3. Iceland-Roa (VAEB)
  4. Denmark-Hallucination (Sissal)
  5. Finland-Ich Komme (Erika Vikman)

I know you guys will be angry at my choice for Finland, but hear me out. The song sounds good and she sings good, but it is not my favorite to qualify. I will be wrong if it goes to the final, but there might be a chance that Finland won’t make it and the top 4 will.

I think Sweden’s entry is funny, original, and celebratory of their culture. It is also the first song of the 2000s era to be sung entirely in Swedish (Albeit Vora dielect) Norway’s entry is catchy and heartbreaking for Kyle’s mother. It combines Nordic history with dance music and definitely brings the fire. Iceland is an electro-tune that symbolizes a journey on the open sea. The group also has a clever idea of just making it catchy and Icelandic. Denmark’s singer is really great and it is just a poppy disco-esque song that is dramatic and fun at the same time.… Read more »

First time since I guess the 90s I hold sweden, my home, highest among the nordics.
Finland is fierce, but Im afraid she will end up on the lower part of the scoreboard.
Iceland is pure fun and I soooo hope they will be in the finals
Denmark and Norway do not appeal to me at all sorry.

These five songs all shine in their own way. So I’ll be balanced in my praise. I adore Denmark’s “Hallucination” because it’s technically perfect and vocally powerful. I enjoy Finland’s “Ich Komme” because of its wake-up verses, its accelerating tempo and Erika’s prowess. I like Sweden’s sauna song because it’s quite funny and it’s surprisingly well-written as well. (It basically takes pieces from several other songs from Melfest and Eurovision and creates a pastiche that stands up on its own.) I like Norway’s “Lighter” because of the fire choreography and the funny misheard chants of “Nor-Way Nor-Way.” I love Iceland’s… Read more »

All Nordics in the final has only happened three times during semifinal period, in 2008, 2009 and 2014. Rare things to happen.

I honestly think this is a quite a poor year, I can only really pick a top 10 at a push. The Nordic countries this year I believe says it all really, two good/three poor. Finland, no 1, my winner. Sweden, between 3 & 5, good to see the Swedish language this year. Norway, between 13 & 15 Denmark, between 18 & 20 if only Sissal would change her stage presentation/choreography & outfit it might have ended up higher. It might struggle to get out of tue semifinal. Iceland, not my cup of tea, it won’t get out of the… Read more »

I think and hope that Sissal will change all of that. She made a video in which she was reacting to her performance at DMGP. It’s obvious that she was being quite cynical in the video to make fun of all the comments she’s received from fans, but I think she’s understood that the Danish delegation is working on it.

Side note, I learned like 2 days ago that the 3 members of KAJ were all born in 1993… Like really? For Jakob (the one that sing first) it seems normal to me, but the 2 others seems way older. Axel (the one who plays the accordion) looks like a 37-38 years old guy and I thought that Kevin (the tall one) was like 40-42 yo 😐

I’m shocked. I thought sauna + ice bath was a good thing to stay young. No shaming here, I still think Kevin is kinda handsome.

And it is quite interesting to know that before becoming comedy singers, they were first and foremost little boys who played in the same football team and were in the same class at school. It’s easier to understand the group’s obvious complicity now.

That’s it, I’m closing the parenthesis on them, this article is not solely dedicated to them.

My opinion.

Sweden is great: a solid 8.5/10 Fighting in my overall top 2. Usually an 8.5/10 means like a 6-7th place in my ranking but I find this year really really weak.

Finland is good: 8/10. Currently 3rd in my top.

Denmark is nice: 7/10. Basic but still efficient with me. Close to my top 10.

Norway is meh: 5.5-6/10. Basic and I have no appeal to this song. Between 20th and 25th.

Iceland is cringe: <5/10. Below my 30th place…

Nordics have been way stronger in the past.

My favourite out of them is Sweden but a big surprise for me this year was also Iceland! Such a fun song, and as I read somewhere, it’s the exact projection of Tutta L’Italia to Iceland :).

Finland is not a song I enjoy but no one can deny how epic Finns and their performances are. Their craziness is something we need at every ESC edition and we have it twice this year if we also count Kaj (and maybe also Tommy Cash).

Norway and Denmark are completely not to my liking and in my bottom 10

I would not mind them winning everything this year.

They stole the victory at least 2 times (2015 and 2023) , just because for once they send something different a joke bubble entry this year rather than their generic bubble stuff, they get all the hype. If it was another country they would not have a chance, but here comes a massive win for them. And then them hosting in boring Malmo with host petra mede thinking she makes clever jokes and Christer Bjorkman making more changes to give more power to producers. All so predictable

No, only people in esc bubble adore these two songs. Viewers outside of Scandinavia wont understand this Swedish humour, so they cant win, and cheap Finnish song will receive maybe 30 pts by jury and 50 pts by viewers, so it will finish maybe on 15th place.
