Are you ready to harmonise? Because today we’re talking about The UK’s country-pop queens, Remember Monday! Following Olly Alexander’s 18th place finish at Eurovision 2024, the BBC decided to go wildly different in their tactics with a female-harmony group this year. Remember Monday are the first girlband to represent The UK since 1999, when Precious came 12th in Jerusalem.

Remember Monday will be performing “What The Hell Just Happened?” In the final on 17th May. They were selected internally by the BBC, which is the method they’ve used every year since 2020. During that time, they have had one Top 3 placing, with Sam Ryder in 2022.

With Sam’s incredible vocals being equally impressive as Remember Monday’s, could the girls bring a sixth win for the United Kingdom?

The United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025: 10 Facts about Remember Monday

1. Who are Remember Monday?

Remember Monday consists of three best friends since college – Lauren Byrne, Charlotte Steele and Holly-Anne Hull, and have been a group since 2013.

2. They’re trained in Musical Theatre and have performed in the West End

We have some leading ladies on our hands! Lauren Byrne played the hero of the story, Miss Honey in Matilda The Muscial. Holly bagged the lead of Christine Daae in Phantom Of The Opera, one of the most prestigious roles in the world. Charlotte took on more of a career in teaching where she specialises in choreography, vocal training, performance & dance. However, she also made her West End debut at only 10 playing Jane Banks in Mary Poppins.

3. They were originally called “Houston”

When they formed in 2013, the group went by the name ‘Houston’, however they changed to Remember Monday back in 2018, as it had more meaning to them. Monday’s were when they had free periods at School to sing together.

4. They took part in The Voice UK, and have a very famous fan

All four judges turned from them and they ended up choosing Jennifer Hudson to mentor them (one of the reasons being that Jennifer actually threw a shoe in excitement). Unfortunately they were eliminated during the Knockout stages. However, their time with Jennifer didn;t end there, as she invited them to sing on her TV show in the USA,. They performed “Hand In My Pocket” by Alanis Morissette on the show.

5. Remember Monday have released 2 EPs

‘Hysterical Women’ was released on 3rd February 2023. Their second ‘Crazy Anyway’ was released on 25th October 2024, not too long before their Eurovision journey went into full speed.

6. Holly-Anne Hull played at the Queen’s 80th birthday party in 2006

Part of Holly’s costume required no shoes and she was asked by the Queen herself why she wasn’t wearing any!

7. Lauren Byrne is a business woman

Lauren from the group co-owned a business with fellow West End star Harriet Watson. Their business was called IN3, which provided musical theatre training for young performers.

8. Charlotte Steele was a Deupty Headteacher

Charlotte was very senior at a performing arts college, being the Deputy Headteacher. She left to pursue the career with the band, a more fun career for sure!

9. They want to get Eurovision tattoos

However this will only happen if they come top 3. When speaking to Wiwibloggs’ own William, they also said they were thinking of getting one for each stop of their promo tour, including a tulip for Amsterdam.

10. Their favourite way to deal with haters is to…sing!

Especially on TikTok to their 530,000 followers, they will usually sing a couple of negative comments that they get. When they were revealed as UK’s representative, they were quick to respond to the haters by singing a few comments. Any excuse to hear those harmonies, to be honest!

I’m sure they’re very good, but like Surie in 2018, it just isn’t a very good song

This is a dark dark horse, in Amsterdam they were perfection in both timing and harmonies, with effortless dance moves, if the staging Art Direction, is original and captivates the lyrics, it could more than stand out…
