The Eurovision 2025 season is now in full swing and no doubt fans will have the songs from this year’s contest on repeat until we crown a winner in May. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests – they’re still bringing us a lot of new music to enjoy.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.
New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 16
Achille Lauro – Comuni Mortali
This week kicks off with Achille Lauro, the Italian superstar who represented San Marino at Eurovision back in 2022. Achille is a well-known figure within the Eurovision fan community, thanks to his multiple appearances at Italy’s Festival di Sanremo — including this year.
His latest album marks a shift toward slower songs, emotional depth, poetic lyrics, and profound reflections on life and death. The only two tracks with a slightly more upbeat tempo are “Fiori di Papavero” (Poppy Flowers) and “Dirty Love”. The rest of the 12-track album leans into a slower pace, placing strong emphasis on lyrical expression. His Sanremo song of this year, “Incoscienti Giovani” (Unconsciously Young) features on the album too.
The album is meant to highlight the fragility that connects people, making them equally vulnerable. For Achille, this is the most important album of his career — a heartfelt attempt to give back all the love and support he has received over the years. Speaking about the album, he said:
“It is the album I have always wanted to make, an album of dedications: from my city to my people, from my great love to those who raised me. An album that speaks of my life, of unconditional love, of torment and of the mature awareness that love is the only testimony of our passage on Earth.”
Neffa feat. Francesca Michielin & Ele A – “Tuttelestelle”
We stay within the Italian music scene with Francesca Michielin, who represented Italy at Eurovision in 2016. A well-known and respected artist in Italy, she has also participated in Festival di Sanremo multiple times — again, including this year. Her latest single, “All of the Stars,” is a collaboration with Neffa and Ele A. It’s a powerful yet touching ballad that blends melodic vocals with impactful rap sections.
The chorus captures the emotional core of the song: “All the roads from here go to the future / All the stars you want fall tonight / All the pain will just be a dark day / All the stars you want burn tonight.” The track is a reflection on light and darkness, pain and healing — ultimately serving as a motivational anthem for a future worth moving toward.
Gabry Ponte & Village People – “Frequency (Go West)”
It’s truly a great week for Italian music, as internationally renowned Italian DJ Gabry Ponte — who is representing San Marino at Eurovision this year — has just dropped a new addictive single too. Despite his packed Eurovision schedule, Gabry continues to impress EDM fans with a fresh release that’s destined to be a club anthem.
This time, he teams up with the iconic Village People for an energetic and catchy track about falling in love on the dance floor and wanting to stay forever on someone’s frequency. The lyrics capture that euphoric moment: “I’m counting down / ‘Til the lights get low / So you and me / Can be all alone / ‘Cause when we touch / It’s like I’m in a dream / I wanna stay on your frequency.” With its upbeat tempo, this track is the perfect soundtrack for any party night.
Albina Kelmendi & Aurela Gaçe – “Motra jem”
Albina, who represented Albania at Eurovision in 2023 alongside her family, returns this week with a heartfelt collaboration with the iconic singer Aurela Gaçe, Albania’s 2011 Eurovision representative. Their new single, “Always a Sister,” is a powerful ballad that unites two extraordinary voices in a moving tribute to sisterhood.
The song delves into themes of deep connection, love, and unwavering support between women. For Albina, this collaboration carries a special significance — Aurela has long been a source of inspiration for her, and following in her footsteps on the Eurovision stage only strengthened that bond. Their chemistry is so natural that they could easily be mistaken for real sisters, not just artistic ones.
Speaking about the song, Aurela said:
“Blessed are those who have a sister or a brother – a soul that understands you, stands by you and loves you unconditionally. And if you don’t have it by blood, we sincerely hope that you have found that friend or girlfriend who feels like a brother or sister – because the strongest bonds are not created by blood alone, but by love, trust and the time you share together.”
Rosa López – “Curiosa”
Rosa, who represented Spain at Eurovision in 2002, is back with a fiery new single that’s perfect for fans of dance beats and retro-glam vibes. Her latest track is a bold, energetic anthem that invites listeners to embrace curiosity in love and take risks — all while prioritising their own desires. The lyrics capture this daring spirit with lines like: “Risky and dangerous among many other things, / I’m going to think about myself, even though I owe it to you / Tender and curious at the same time, with dubious certainty / But I’ll do it for myself, even though I owe it to you.”
Olena Topolia – “Каштан”
Olena, who represented Ukraine at Eurovision in 2010 under the stage name Alyosha, makes a powerful return this week with “Chestnut”, a track that marks a bold dive back into her rock roots. The song is a reimagined, rock-infused version of her earlier release “Точка на карте” (A Point on the Map), and it’s a gift to rock fans — intense, emotional, and deeply meaningful. “I am ready to do everything / Only for you again / For your sake, love / To fall to the bottom / To raise the ranks in battle / And despite a million wounds / To carry you to the city / Where the chestnut blossoms.”
These lyrics speak of devotion, struggle, and hope — themes that resonate even more profoundly today. With “Chestnut”, Olena not only revives an older piece with new energy, but also reclaims her identity as a rock artist. After a period she lightheartedly referred to as her “pop music break,” she’s now back to the genre where it all began — a return to her origins, and to her truest artistic self. About her song, Olena said:
“This is a song about our cities. About people. About a dream that does not disappear… even under the sounds of sirens.”
Daði Freyr – “I Don’t Wanna Talk”
Daði, who was set to represent Iceland in Eurovision 2020 before the contest was cancelled due to the pandemic — and who made a memorable return in 2021 — is back with a brand-new track that sets the tone for his upcoming album. Fans are already buzzing with excitement, and for good reason.
Known for his infectious dance-pop style, Daði doesn’t disappoint with this latest release. The song is a celebration of love without explanations — a message about embracing affection freely and unapologetically, without needing to justify it to anyone. It’s all about less talking, more feeling, and simply enjoying the connection with the person you choose.
And if that weren’t enough, the music video marks a historic moment: Daði cuts his signature hair. For real.
Sergio Dalma & Els Amics de les Arts – “Louisiana o els camps de cotó”
A deeply touching tribute to Louisiana comes this week from Spanish artist Sergio Dalma, who represented Spain at Eurovision in 1991. His new song, “Louisiana or the Cotton Fields,“ is a nostalgic ballad created in collaboration with the beloved Catalan group Els Amics de les Arts. With its melodies and warm, melancholic tone, the track perfectly captures the essence of classic Spanish ballads. It will be featured on the upcoming album 20 Years of Friends.
To make the project even more personal, Sergio reached out to his fans, inviting people with a special connection to Louisiana to share their stories. He received hundreds of heartfelt emails, filled with memories and emotions. From those, he gathered a group of individuals and offered them a unique experience: an exclusive first listen to the song’s new version. Sergio wanted to hear directly from them — to know what the song made them feel and where it took them.
Salvador Sobral & Sílvia Pérez Cruz – “Ben poca cosa tens”
Salvador Sobral, who brought Portugal its first-ever Eurovision win in 2017, returns this week with a stunning collaboration alongside Spanish artist Sílvia Pérez Cruz. Their new song, “You Have Very Little,” is part of the soundtrack for the recently released Spanish film Molt lluny (So Far Away).
The music video invites viewers into the intimate setting of the studio, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how moments bloom into musical magic. With a blend of acoustic warmth and orchestral elegance, Salvador and Sílvia’s voices intertwine beautifully, carrying the listener down a dreamy, emotional path with an emotional and poetic song.
The lyrics capture a tender sense of longing: “You have very little / The table and a few books, / The longing for her, who is far / And you do not forget her either / And this silence, dense with unspoken words.”
Andrei Ursu – “Quédate Aquí”
Andrei, who represented Romania at Eurovision 2022 under the stage name wrs, is back — and if you’ve been missing his signature Spanish-Latino vibes, your wait is over. His latest single, “Stay Here,” brings that unmistakable sound.
The track marks the first release from his upcoming EP Canciones del Corazón (Songs of the Heart), the Spanish-language counterpart to his retro-inspired Romanian album Cântece de Inimă. With its sensual melody and heartfelt lyrics, it promises to set the tone for a collection that blends romance with the hot Spanish sun. About the song, Andrei said:
“I wrote it from the heart… and I am very excited to be able to share it with you. I hope they listen to it with the same affection with which it was created — with that soft, slow and sincere love that only a bolero can carry. We filmed the video clip in Gran Canaria, which already feels like my second home, together with my boyfriend. It was an intimate process, beautiful, full of light.”
Vaidas Baumila – “Marozika”
Vaidas, who represented Lithuania at Eurovision in 2015 alongside Monika Linkytė, is back with a thrilling new release that’s equal parts dance anthem and dark fairy tale. His latest song invites you into a wild, chaotic laboratory — where madness, horror, and sensuality intertwine in spectacular fashion.
At the center of this twisted tale is Marozika, a haunting character: an old, wicked woman who preserves her youth by stealing the life force of others. With her irresistible beauty and seductive charm, she lures more and more victims into her trap, weaving a web of danger beneath a glamorous façade.
Montaigne – “it’s all about the money”
Montaigne, who was selected to represent Australia at Eurovision in 2020 (before the contest was cancelled) and returned to the stage in 2021, is now a fully independent artist. Her latest track is a standout release from her upcoming album It’s Hard to Be a Fish, marking her return to the indie scene where she can express herself freely and authentically.
The song is paired with a striking music video that captures the experience of feeling out of place in a world that often prizes appearance and superficiality. Through sharp, unapologetic lyrics, Montaigne critiques a culture obsessed with money and conformity — and the emotional toll it takes on those who refuse to play along: “I know you’ll never understand / Why I won’t put on that dress, oh / You should count yourself lucky / That I am so well read / If I had one dollar every time that you opened your mouth / And something impossibly awful came out / Well, you’d be very happy / Cause then I would be rich / But you’ll have to say sorry if you want any of it.”
Montaigne makes it clear: she’s done shrinking herself for others’ comfort — especially when the cost is authenticity. This is a track for anyone who’s ever felt too different, too loud, or too much for the world around them.
ISAAK & David Puentez – “Peace In The Pieces”
An energetic club anthem bursts onto the scene this week from the collaboration between ISAAK, who represented Germany at Eurovision 2024, and renowned German DJ David Puentez. The track is a powerful fusion of infectious dance rhythms and ISAAK’s unmistakable, soulful voice.
The song explores the aftermath of heartbreak, channeling pain into motion, and piecing yourself back together through sound and strength. It’s about healing in your own rhythm and finding peace within the pulse of the music — a cathartic anthem for anyone who’s danced through their darkest days.
TuralTuranX – “Amsterdam”
The twin duo TuralTuranX, who represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2023, return with a haunting new ballad that takes listeners on an emotional journey — all the way to Amsterdam. Far from a typical love song, this experimental track dives deep into themes of heartbreak, unspoken words, and the ache of what could have been. Crafted over the span of eight months in a quiet lakeside cabin in Zaqatala, the song carries a raw, intimate energy. It feels like a farewell letter set to music — tender, vulnerable, and soaked in longing.
The lyrics capture the quiet sorrow of memories that linger: “I had so much fun / When we paint the skies / Though the story was not / Meant to end / In my dreams, I’m still holding your hand / I’m missing you, babe, but I know you don’t see it / We left it neglected / Anyway / Still, wish you the best.”
Boris Novković – “Kad on te ostavi”
Boris, who represented Croatia in Eurovision 2005 alongside the Lado Members, returns with a deeply emotional acoustic ballad titled “When He Leaves You.” Rooted in authentic folk influences and stripped-down instrumentation, the song speaks to the quiet pain of unspoken love — of standing by someone’s side, ready to catch them when they fall, even when the feelings aren’t returned. The ballad is tender and introspective, capturing the quiet strength of loving someone selflessly.
Hooverphonic & Barbara Dex
Belgium’s beloved music show, Liefde voor Muziek, continues. In this episode, the spotlight is on the work of Frank Vander linden, frontman of the iconic Belgian band De Mens, as fellow artists reimagine his songs in their own unique styles. Among the performers are Hooverphonic (Eurovision 2020 & 2021) and Barbara Dex (Eurovision 1993), both bringing fresh interpretations to Vander linden’s catalogue.
Hooverphonic took on the 1992 classic “Dit Is Mijn Huis” (This Is My House), giving it their signature mysterious and cinematic touch. While preserving the spirit and beauty of the original, the band translated the lyrics into English and reworked the instrumentation. According to Alex Callier, they added a riff with an almost Arabic flavour — creating a haunting, atmospheric rendition that blends perfectly with Hooverphonic’s soundscape.
Barbara Dex chose a more recent track, “Gebrek Aan Jou” (Lack of You) from 2017. She stayed true to the original language, delivering a heartfelt Dutch version. Barbara shared that while the song may already be known among music lovers, she hopes to introduce it to a wider and younger audience — believing this hidden gem deserves its rightful place “on the musical map.”
Oge feat. Marina Satti – “COSMOS”
Marina, who took Europe by storm when she represented Greece at Eurovision last year, is back with a brand-new track just in time for summer — and it’s nothing short of a cosmic ride. Her latest release is an irresistible blend of sun-soaked beats, shimmering melodies, and her signature powerhouse vocals.
The song, a collaboration with Greek artist Oge, blends pop and urban influences into a fresh, summerish sound that’s both uplifting and hypnotic.
Jérémie Makiese feat. Yeux Ébènes – “Folie”
Nigar Jamal – “Unutsan”
We close the week with a soulful release from Nigar, also known as Nikki, who famously won Eurovision 2011 for Azerbaijan alongside Ell. Her newest track, “Forget,” is a poignant ballad wrapped in traditional influences and accompanied by a beautifully cinematic music video.
With haunting melodies and stirring instrumentation, the song explores the painful paradox of longing for someone who once caused deep hurt. It’s about choosing to look the other way — to forget — even while knowing that forgiveness may only bring more pain. The lyrics are raw and vulnerable: “I’m the one who protects my love alone / Just as the one who endures every pain / I’m the one who is cold from this life / It’s been a long time since I’ve hurt this heart so much.”
