Miriana Conte – “SERVING” (Malta Eurovision 2025)
Review: Miriana Conte – “SERVING”
Antranig: “SERVING” is a cultural phenomenon that has already cemented its place in Eurovision folklore. Some may argue that the song lost the punch it once packed when it was known as “Kant”, but frankly, I think the transition from “Kant” to “SERVING” is exactly what the song is about. Obstacles and criticism are hurled at our queen by haters but she overcomes them and continues to deliver. Lyrically, musically, visually and even in terms of its sass, “SERVING” is perfection and Miriana Conte is a star who will never cease to shine. I love this so much. Well done, Malta!
Score: 10
Lucy: I’m coming straight out the gate with a bold statement: the song is way better for the change to “serving ahh”. The audience will lap it up and provide the crucial missing word, and Miriana still remains exceptionally fierce. It flows better, and it was always going to remain an absolute raging banger. From the first line “I’ve got a secret you should know”, Miriana is inviting us in on the fun, and it just gets camper and more unforgettable as we go along. The Sound of Music nods are funny as hell, and she delivers them perfectly. And the LEOPARD PRINT. I love you Miriana Conte, and I’m not alone.
Score: 8
Scarlett: Malta is a powerhouse when it comes to self-empowerment party anthems, and “SERVING” is no exception. And while Miriana Conte has already proven that she has the vocal pipes and the attitude to slay a banger like this, the main gimmick that comes with the lyrics of “serving [kant]” wears off quickly. Sure, fans will fill in the now infamously redacted word during live performances, but beyond that, this song doesn’t really bring anything new to this genre of entries. I do appreciate the quieter moments sprinkled throughout the song though.
Score: 4
William: You’re on to a good thing when your song title alone gets Europe talking. And you’re on to a great thing when you back that up with sass, attitude and voice. Miriana is ticking all the boxes with this Drag Race anthem about living life on your own terms. It opens with a playful swerve on the ubiquitous “Arabian riff” — also known as “The Streets of Cairo” — and builds into something electronic and uplifting. I can’t help but smile every time Miriana belts it out and bounces on those balls. Did this benefit from all the Kant-related controversy? Absolutely. Miriana endured and now she’s a dark horse to gallop to the top of the public vote.
Score: 9

I thought the smarter people on here would see through a very low quality song that lost its only appeal – which was a childish gag anyway.
Spot on vocals will be a challenge for her, the c*nt kant controversy and the skippy balls are a great way to cover up the song itself is not the best we ever had, let’s be honest.
This song has nothing special, it sounds like a Niki Minaj song of the 2010
Malta 4/12
Deserving
cheaper than Temu
So stereotypical. Wiwi jurors are girl bop fanatics. I mean, it’s a nice song but nothing different or spectacular. So this score is outrageous.
The song is nothing special, but it is part of the very small grup of songs that stand out in such a weak year.
Why am I not surprised? Is that a joke? How many reels and tiktoks did you sign up for to justify this heresy?
Mariana seems to be a nice girl but she can’t really sing (shouting is NOT singing) and she can’t dance either.
Actually she’s really bad on stage, that’s embarrassing.
NQ for me, she’s the Ronela of 2025 and will probably have the same fate.
Is that score a joke? This is one of the worst entries of the year!
The wiwi jury rankings show that the song is at least liked by its immediate target audience…
Hee hee
I don’t like this song. 0 points from me.
Are you kidding me? 6.50 max.
If The Busker and Sarah Bonnici got dead last with better songs, so should she. This song is an abomination of gay brain rot
It is nice song and Miriana is simply wonderful. Although it shouldn’t have been necessary to change the lyrics, it actually got even better by the “kant” exchanged with the “aaah”.
This song is garbage. 1/10
MALTA – After two years of undeserving last places in the semi, Malta is back with a hook that creates buzz throughout the Internet. And to be fair, it’s a real buzz, not just generated through a carefully crafted campaign, like in 2021. So, what’s the secret we should know? Serving is all about Miriana Conte, a bright star of the Maltese scene. She tried out MESC for several years until she found the right song to show all of her talents – dancing, singing, displaying sass and likability. She is able to do all that here, and you can… Read more »
Malta is MY WINNER this year! Go Malta
For once im glad WiWi have rated a song worthy of the total. I predict a Top 10 finish even a Top 5. With a rift similar to Ida Corr/Fedde Le Grand Let me think about it i just love this song.
Why was I expecting this?
Yes.
Are you kidding me? XD I’m sure that this song will flop on May.
I mean, I can’t say I’m surprised by this score.
The song is really entertaining and clever and Miriana Conte oozes atittude but it’s nowhere as good as the hardcore fans pretend.

Ridiculously overrated. This could very well be a ‘shock’ non-qualifier.
fingers crossed
No matter how much I hate this song, Malta is pretty much a 100% qualifier.
…which shows the value system of the entire contest in all its ugliness.
Mariana and her team have taken this contest by the horns and milked it for all it’s worth. I’ve always enjoyed the song, but the way they have consistently delivered with charm, humour and sass has been a revelation. She was even on Newsnight and spoke so eloquently. Malta deserve top 5, and I’d be delighted if they won.
Not in my top 10.
Malta wins my award for “Best Official Video” of ESC 2025, and is my number 6 overall. I’m aware that this song and its singer are cultural icons, and I could write about that. But staying true to myself, I’m going to serve an actual music review. (Because I am the moment here.) We start with a three-line Introduction, set to background percussion, where Miriana speaks the lines without a melody. Verse 1 hits us on the nose with an on-the-beat set of downward spiralling melodies, still in no key (but loosely tied to E). These melodies are really impactful… Read more »
As I already said with that Australian guy and hiss mess of a song that you guys are very generous with scores this year, now you surprised me even more by giving 8.17 score to this very very mediocre, sole less and flat song.
Wow, but in a very bad way.
Thank you, next!!!!!!
Time to unfollow you forever.
Worst maltese entry in years
A lot of haters here for a song that’s going to go big in the televote.
I really like this song just because it’s iconic but I’m really not sure it will do that well with televote. It will qualify for sure but she is not a great singer and televote pays attention to that (less than juries but still). Plus it’s Malta and sadly Malta never gets credit for their work (cf 2019 and 2021). I wish her the best though. I will be really happy for her if she achieves a great result!
There is no need to hate. What is the point of hating? Anyway, I hope Miriana has fun at Eurovision, but let’s see if “Serving” is still “serving” once the confetti settles.
TBH, I have to commend Malta.
It’s no secret that a huge chunk of people didn’t care about this song or Miriana at all, and just wanted to see funny woman say the c-word in front of 100 million people on international TV, and the public got tilted for that hype. But in the update, she just owned the entire situation with camp and humour, making it much more than what it started with. Honestly? Kudos to Miriana.
With respect, did she ‘own it’? She was still taking people for fools maintaining that the word chosen had absolutely nothing to do with the fact it sounds like a swear word. I actually don’t mind the song at all but an 8+, really? A little insulting to some artists.
My dead last place. I honestly can’t fathom why anyone would voluntarily listen to this. It’s loud, cheap, unorigional and lacks creativity. She seems lovely, but this kind of music is just horrible to me..
People should not take everything so serious. Honestly I wouldn’t mind her winning this year. It’s a celebration of life and all about not giving a damn. Mariana knows how use hate to her advantage and I can only applaud that
Serving mediocrity and meh realness.
Yuval plans to have other 10/7 survivors on stage. And Eden is going to announce the points. Way to make the song non-political.
I really hope now Joost will drop the points for the Netherlands, why not 😉
First in the wiwi jury ranking so far? REALLY? this is not higher than a 5
Best song this year.
Defo , Iam so pleased you put my country first x
36. Malta – Miriana Conte – Serving – 2.5/10 – unfortunately, I find this song irritating, a little crass and with unclever provocation. I can’t escape the feeling that the appeal of the whole song is one word. The production and vocal delivery is neither current, ironic nor retro and elements of the production and lyrical content are far too infantile. It is a relief when this track is finally over.
Looks like you served a cold dish here.
It’s fascinating how our music tastes diverge this year. 🙂
YES this deserves all the love, and she better not flop in the final and get at least that top 10 position she deserves
Can’t say I’m surprised with that score. With how aggressively queerbait-heavy this entry is, of course Wiwibloggs and many ESC fans (mostly OGAE) are the EXACT target audience for something like this. After all, woman dancing going around “Look at me slaying and serving c*nt” is enough for the gays to be hooked on this for life, with one heck of a choke hold. To me, this is 3-minute toilet humor, and it lost all supposed ‘meaning’ after the somewhat dumb censorship. It’s a waste, since Miriana is clearly a good performer, but she wastes everything on… this total garbage… Read more »
8.17 ? really ? NO Baby is soo mouch
Bouncing balls effect… I guess
ugh you guys in the comments are so boring. This song is just happy, and pure fun. Not a second where you get bored. Plus it’s quirky and not necessarily cringe. 10th place for me 8/10
Serving Trash is more a 0/10.
8.17? What a joke
ain’t no way 8/10 … yall need help wiwi. Lol she is overrated
I don’t think Eurovision will ever be high quality again… this song only proves it. I’m sorry but all the childish “slaying” and “serving” she does, doesn’t go any further than this. So predictable and copy of Destiny.
0/10 is still too nice, should be -10
This song is so bad… cheap… she doesn’t have any breath control and it all look like circus. 8/10 is a joke
I’m surprised by all the high scores from almost everyone. It’s not THAT good,
I think it’s genuinely an interesting song with a strong performance, so that’s why it’s my number 6. In my review, I mentioned the “cultural icon” element as well, but I didn’t delve into it; that’s a different essay.
One of the favourites for new Pope is Maltese, Mario Grech. Imagine if that happens and they win in Basel too. The island will rise from the ocean with pride.
I imagine the Swedes would be so pissed and lock her up in a sauna somewhere.
Serving Pope
Only if the new pope sings serving c*nt on a skippy ball.
