The Eurovision 2025 season is now in full swing and no doubt fans will have the songs from this year’s contest on repeat until we crown a winner in May. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests – they’re still bringing us a lot of new music to enjoy.
Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.
Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.
New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 17 part 1
With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 2 here.
Sertab Erener & Selin – “SON DAMLA”
Sertab Erener, the champion of Eurovision 2003, has joined forces with Seiln for a new single titled “SON DAMLA” (“Last Drop”). The Turkish singers have produced a soft-rock piece that picks up in the chorus thanks to an influx of electric guitars.
In the lyrics, Sertab and Selin sing to their ex-partner. The duo are more than happy to see the back of them and won’t be wasting any tears on the situation: “Go with pleasure / Never stop / No one is crying behind you / Maybe one day you will face / That man you thought you were / I will drink / The last drop left from you.”
Flo Rida feat. That Mexican OT – “Bad Idea”
“All the best nights start as bad ideas.”
Flo Rida has experienced many a wild night over the years of being an international superstar. The Eurovision 2021 rapper has now put this knowledge behind the new single “Bad Idea.” But he’s not just getting the party started in English-speaking territories; the song also includes some Spanish lines courtesy of That Mexican OT.
Conchita Wurst – Mrs Thomas
Austria’s Eurovision 2014 champion, Conchita Wurst, has a new EP for us. Mrs Thomas contains five songs, two of which fans will already have heard — “Waters Run Deep” and “Any Day From Now On.”
Of the three newbies, it’s the title track that stands out as the heart of the record, and comes with an accompanying visualiser. The EP then concludes with two acoustic offerings.
MIKOLAS – “SAMBA”
MIKOLAS is giving his music a tropical twist by incorporating “SAMBA” into his latest single. Whilst the influence is there, the song still very much has an urban and hip-hop aura to it — reminiscent of Mahmood’s recent baile funk offerings.
In the lyrics, Czechia’s Eurovision 2018 star notes that he’s put his demons to bed and is now fully in control of his life: “Calma / Got all my demons run down / All of my boys are alpha / Blood cold Rick Casablanca / Yeah / No way I come down / Goated prime Kobe Mamba / Ain’t afraid when my devil / Comes to see if I Samba.”
MELOVIN – “тормоз чи на газ”
MELOVIN is firing on all cylinders. Ukraine’s Eurovision 2018 star has dropped the disco-inspired single “тормоз чи на газ” (“brake or gas”). Through the song, MELOVIN hopes to inspire people to rev-up their engines and push forward through uncertain situations. A note underneath the glittery music video reads:
“For those who are on the verge. Who is afraid to take a step forward. Who hesitates: to be silent or to speak; to stay or to start from scratch. This song is about the fact that even when it is scary, you have to press the ‘gas’. Because life is too fragile to stop.”
Alessandra – “Non Stop”
Alessandra has been working “Non Stop” since representing Norway at Eurovision 2023. The musical journey continues with her second single of the year. A catchy pop offering, the instrumentation has an almost ‘children’s fun fair’ styling to it. But lyrically, the singer doesn’t want to play anymore games; Alessandra is ready to seal the deal when it comes to her suitor: “Wear you up and down / So hot / Get it rockin’ now / Boy what are you waiting for / Yeah baby gimme more / I’ll get you going non stop.”
S10 & Froukje – “Hart In Brand”
Eurovision 2022 alumna S10 has regularly released tracks alongside fellow Dutch artist Froukje. This continues with their latest duet “Hart In Brand” (“Heart On Fire”). The pair think about all the things that make for a great night out: “Is it the DJ? Is it the booze? / Is it the vodka? Is it the flirt? / Is it my outfit? Is it my coat? / Is it my tears? Is it my laugh? / Out of control, but in balance / If you ever doubt, give it a chance / Fill my glass, then I’ll take your hand / Give me your heart, I’ll set it on fire.”
S10 and Froukje have collaborated so much that they now have enough joint singles to put on an arena show — they’ll be performing two nights at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome in November.
MEGARA – “Cicatrices”
Almost a year since their appearance at Eurovision 2024 for San Marino, MEGARA are now ready to share some new music with us. The rock band returns with “Cicatrices” (“Scars”) — a full-throttle track that has a lot of power behind it.
They lyrics discuss a tumultuous relationship: “Let the world end / And now you tell me that / I can’t recognise every millimetre of your skin / Time knows / That we are all animals / Our faith was broken from so many promises / And all we saw was the sky burn / There’s no electricity left.”
Getter Jaani – “Vajan hingata”
It’s been four years since we last heard from Getter Jaani. But the Estonian singer is bursting back onto the scene with “Vajan hingata” (“I need to breathe”). The Eurovision 2011 alumna proves that the time away has been fruitful, returning as a fully fledged pop star. Jaani delivers a catchy song that makes great use of syncopated rhythms to bring a sense of dynamism.
In the lyrics, the singer says she’s being drawn in by a feeling that is sparking and allowing her to live freely: “I need to breathe / Something sweet / Pulling me / To the heights takes / A city of sparks / Hot as lava.”
VICTORIA & Patryk Skoczyński – “I’LL BE THERE”
Bulgaria meets Poland in this latest collaboration between Eurovision 2021 star VICOTRIA alongside Patryk Skoczyński. The pair bring us an emotional pop duet where they showcase their vulnerabilities.
Lyrically, they are struggling to move on from a relationship and would rather that things didn’t end. VICTORIA and Patryk are ready and waiting to jump back in if their ex ever needs support: “I’m trying to replace you in my head / But I can’t deny that I still care / So if you need a hand / You can call and I’ll be there / It doesn’t have to end this way.”
Patricia Kaas – “Les yeux de ma mère”
This week, Patricia Kaas has shared her greatest hits album, Une vie. Most of the songs are remasters of her previous hits, but there is also one new(ish) track. France’s Eurovision 2009 star has recorded a cover of “Les yeux de ma mère” (“My mother’s eyes”). The song was first released by Belgian singer Arno in 1995.
Voyager – “Seen Better Days”
“So hold me now / See me through the haze / And so hold me tight / ‘Cause I’ve seen better days”
Danny Estrin is calling out for support. Voyager’s lead vocalist has been battling cancer over the last couple of years and is persevering through multiple treatments. He decided to write about his experiences for the new single “Seen Better Days,” which recounts his struggles. A statement from Australia’s Eurovision 2023 singer in the accompanying music video’s description notes:
“Difficult times yield dark music. It won’t come as a surprise that ‘Seen Better Days’ is a personal account of the 18 months of hell, through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery that I have endured. Embracing the beautiful love and support I have received from friends, family and fans while often putting on a brave face in the horrid abyss of stage 4 cancer is no easy feat, so I felt it was right to put it to words and music. Somehow as brutally vulnerable as the song is, it still maintains an uplifting melancholy and, despite its crushing ending, manages a breath of optimism through the bleakness… after all, life is beautiful.”
Lucía Pérez & Zé Amaro – “Ama-me (Ámame)”
Lucía Pérez represented Spain at Eurovision 2011. But for her latest single, she’s getting her tongue around some Portuguese as well. The singer is joined by Portuguese cowboy Zé Amaro for “Ama-me (Ámame)” (“Love me”).
As the title suggests, the pair sing about their hope that a special someone will reciprocate their feelings: “Love me / As I love you / Want me like this / As I want you / With your presence you were able / To give life all this peace.”
Leo Dante – “Medicine”
Leo Dante will be better known to Eurovision fans as Sandro. This is the latest name change from Cyprus’ Eurovision 2020 entrant, which he’s been working under since 2022. Most recently, the singer has shared the new single “Medicine.” It’s a post-punk, pop-rock offering that builds from a subdued opening into a guitar-heavy chorus.
Lyrically, Dante is dealing with some troubles and is looking for the remedy: “I need a doctor right now who can fix me up / And make me numb / Can you give me some ’cause I’ve had enough […] Give me the medicine.”
Sofi Marinova & Hüsnü Şenlendirici – “Любов”
Sofi Marinova celebrated Easter with the new single, “Любов” (“Love”). Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2012 representative brings us a mid-tempo ballad that comes from her heart. There is clarinet accompaniment courtesy of Turkish musician Hüsnü Şenlendirici, who has similar Romani heritage as Sofi herself.
Dino Merlin – Mi
Following a string of hits over recent years, Dino Merlin has now released his highly anticipated new album. Titled Mi (English: We), it’s the two-time Eurovision star’s first LP in nine years.
There are 18 songs to listen through in total. Most of the previous singles make up the second half of the record. The new offerings are found early one, and Dino has shared an accompanying visual project for these ten songs.
