PARG – “SURVIVOR” (Armenia Eurovision 2025)
Review: PARG – “SURVIVOR”
Scarlett: “SURVIVOR” could have soared to great heights. PARG’s attitude is strong. The song’s production is slick. The blending of traditional instrumentation and modern pop is *chef’s kiss*. But as a whole? The sheen of “SURVIVOR” wears off quickly. The rhyming scheme is a tad awkward (“I’m a survivor / stay aliver”), and the metaphors a tad hammy (“Stabbing me / crushing me / tearing me / burning me”). I hope PARG brings some strong backing vocalists to Basel, because this song’s success hinges on the power of its post-chorus – when PARG himself is not singing.
Score: 3.5
Pablo: “SURVIVOR” offers a unique package for Eurovision in any given year. The boisterous instrumentals and confident vocal tone make it stand out from what’s expected for the contest. As an avid consumer of this type of music, I do feel that it could have a stronger lyrical level. Something like similes, different choice words or more elaborate lines to join the “rah-rah” main hook could take what feels like a first draft to proper B.A.M.F territory. However, this Alpha Male pop style of music (Zayde Wolf, Sam Tinnesz) is one that absolutely needs to feature more in Eurovision, and I’d be more than pleased if this was a pioneer for more.
Score: 6
Simon: This is basically a football anthem. I’m not that familiar with Armenian football teams, but I can imagine a Yerevan derby where the crowd would be chanting “lo-lo-lo-lo lo-lo-lo SURVIVOR!” to support their team. The lyrics get a little cringy and have very forced rhyming, but PARG sells the hell out of it. I haven’t really got on board with it though, and it might get stranded in quite a tough semi-final.
Score: 3.5
Tom: The great news about “SURVIVOR”, is that it has a timeless quality to it. It feels like it could be from 2, 10 or 20 years ago. The chorus is anthemic and catchy from the very first listen. My issue with it, is that the song can be from anywhere, and represent any country. I don’t feel it is particularly special and as a result, it is forgettable. On the Eurovision stage, if PARG sings perfectly and gives us some unique staging, this has the potential to come alive… but this is a huge if.
Score: 5

Armenia 1,5/12
The biggest Hottie this year!
I really don’t think Armenia this year was intended for wiwibloggs type ears so I still think it will easily qualify
25th place: Armenia: This song tries si hard to be epic and kinda succeeds at the chorus, but at the end of the day it ends up being too noisy for me. The rap parts are not to my liking and although Parg is a nice performer, I am nit a fan of his voice at all. The ethnic part also feeks forced. Its qualifying chances are a mystery to me.
Can’t believe the score tbh.
It’s true it is nothing special but certainly deserves better.
It seems it has too much testosterone for most of the audience.

In my top 5 of the year, I love it, it’s anthemic.
Again not appreciated enough by this fandom but it will be by the casual viewers, so whatever.
Malta getting over 8 and this under 4.5 tells me all I need to know of the tastelevel on here.
watch this qualifying to the eurofans dismay
And even funnier if it’s the first qualifier called out. I saw him in Amsterdam and I think he did enough.
I am a survivor of listening to it once.
Is this really last place so far? That’s just unfair.
This really is an awful song. I expected better from Armenia.
Can’t believe how it was even selected as you had a choice like Athena. Solid NQ. Fair points
Gorgeous and terribe at the same time. 😮
PARG deserves extra points for being totally cute in the promo tour vids x
I think this one will be watched on mute…
He’s eye candy and that’s about it ?
Yeah. We’ve been parged and we know it.
So I wish that Armenia and so many other countries would stop letting foreign composers send in entries to their national selections. It not so interesting when at times the ESC is about different Boström and G:sson entries competing up against each other.
Armenia – I like this one! There’s nothing like it this year and it has the opportunity of standing out. The lyrics are a bit on the cringey side, but I am able to look past that and get some enjoyment out of it. The big positive I get out of Armenia’s choice this year is that it could have been SO much worse. I still have wartime flashbacks from the national final. A solid 6/10
11. Armenia – PARG – Survivor – 8/10 – I am a fan of the fuzzy bass production and there is a strong memorable chorus. The rhyming of “survivor” and “alive” is also classic Eurovision. The verses are a little weak and over-familiar but overall if they repeat the national final presentation on a grander scale, then I will certainly look forward to this one.
I quite like this one. Another dramatic D minor song. This one’s in the harmonic minor and it has eastern elements in it. (However, it is not in the Hungarian Minor. I bet the songwriters considered it though.) A short Intro establishes the menace of the song Verse 1 makes it clear that the song is about a man who is sick of the world telling him what to believe, so he’s now breaking free and doing what he wants. The music suggests he is a villain, but really the lyrics tell a different story. Throughout the song, there’s is… Read more »
ARMENIA – Last couple of years Armenia brough interesting songs to the contest. Whether they were my favorites or not, I could appreciate them. This year, they decided on a pop-rock track with some 2010s vibes that goes hard in a direction I am personally not very fond of. I don’t mind the ”Imagine Dragons style” that’s been used here. Actually, the rhythmic choices that use that formula might be my least disliked ones. What I really don’t like is the loud football stadium inspired instrumental in the chorus that even doubled down its intensity in the revamp. What I’m… Read more »
I am not a fan of the song but this does not deserve 4.43. It is way too harsh.
