Germany’s 2013 Eurovision stars and the country’s most successful dance act Cascada will be joining headliners Clean Bandit to make this year’s Birmingham Pride a celebratory event. Fans can expect to hear their chart topping hits such as “Glorious”, “Everytime We Touch”, and “Evacuate the Dancefloor”.
Heartbreak on hold! Joining this impressive bill is Alexandra Burke. She holds the record for the fastest selling song in British history, and her impressive resumé includes a successful West End starring role, 3 chatting albums and 4 number one hits.
Also appearing on the Birmingham Pride Stage are The Wanted and Bananarama.
2025 marks the the 28th annual event in the city and will run on Saturday 24 May and Sunday 25 May. Although, the Pride Parade will take place on the Saturday, the city will be in full celebratory swing from Friday.
Yes, that’s right. There’s a big community event taking place on Friday 23 May at Smithfield and will feature the annual candlelit vigil. The event is FREE, but you will require a FREE ticket which you can claim from the BUY TICKETS section on the website.
There will be keynote speakers, live performances, art, music, community stalls and local artists. The theme for this year’s Pride is “Love Has No Limits”.
Birmingham Pride
The Pride Parade is also free to attend. It is a key aspect of the entire festival weekend enjoyed by over 70,000 spectators lining the streets of Birmingham showing support for global solidarity, equality and justice. This will start in the city’s Centenary Square from noon on Saturday 24 May heading through the city centre before culminating in the LGBTQ+ village. The Big Free Community events, along with the parade and other free activities within the city ensures that Birmingham Pride remains inclusive and accessible.

I never really understood all the fuss about Cascada. Sure, Evacuate was a bop, altho it was basically Just Dance 2.0. And the ESC song and oerformance were terrible.
But…ooooh…Welcome Bananarama!
