The Eurovision 2025 season is now in full swing and no doubt fans will have the songs from this year’s contest on repeat until we crown a winner in May. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests – they’re still bringing us a lot of new music to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 20 part 1

With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 2 here.

Abor & Tynna – “Rotkäppchen”

This week, we have a long lineup of songs, from which numerous from the artists who competed in this year’s Eurovision. We are starting with Abor & Tynna, the beloved Hungarian duo who represented Germany finishing on the 15th place in the final. Their new track, “Little Red Riding Hood,” is an electronic tune that carries the same BRAT Summer vibe associated with their Eurovision entry.

The song reimagines the classic fairytale in a modern context, portraying Red Riding Hood as an independent city girl. In this version, the “wolves” are the men around her, but she prefers her own company: “Little Red Riding Hood is a city girl / She dances with the wolves / Red miniskirt, she’s a flirt / But she only gives out rejections.” The track is featured on their album Bittersüß (Baller Deluxe).

Katarsis – “Balta Meilė”

Katarsis is the rock band that made Lithuania proud this year, taking the country straight to the Eurovision final, where they finished on the 16th place. This week, they released an audio version of “Balta Meilė.” Eurovision fans fell in love with the song when the band performed it for Eurovision: A Little Bit More—a pre-contest series streamed on the official Eurovision YouTube channel, where artists shared alternative versions of their competing entries or unique covers.

“Balta Meilė” is a cover of a 1997 track originally released by Lemon Joy, a well-known Lithuanian synthpop band. This version transforms the song into a powerful rock ballad, staying true to its emotional core—a love so intense it melts the emotional “snow” within: “I want to stay, I want to drown in you / Sea, waves, touch me again / The snow is melting and the stars are drawing closer / Break the glass…”

Klemen – “The Northern Lights” and “Out of My Cage”

Klemen represented Slovenia at Eurovision this year, and although he didn’t qualify for the Grand Final, he won the hearts of fans with the raw emotion in his music. His upcoming album, Golden Hour, is set to be released on June 3rd. Ahead of the big release, he’s treating fans to a double release from the album. These new songs are filled with warmth and light, gently sprinkled with hope.

“The Northern Lights” is about finding the vibrant, colorful lights in your life after wandering through darkness. It carries the message that sometimes, you need the dark in order to see the beauty of the light. “Out of My Cage” explores the journey of breaking free from fakeness, discarding the masks and costumes and embracing your true self. It speaks to the struggle of feeling inauthentic, the desire to escape, and the courage to finally live as who you really are.

Nemo – “Unexplainable”

Nemo won Eurovision for Switzerland last year. This year, they were invited to perform during the Grand Final, and this is the exact song they chose to perform. The track is a very personal one, about understanding yourself and sometimes feeling “unexplainable,” struggling with all the thoughts, questions, and expectations that others try to impose: “I can’t explain the way I feel / Whatever happens in my mind / I never know if it’s real / Can a feeling be a lie? / I rarely understand my thoughts / I write them down before I sleep / But I’m exactly where I was / Every time I take a read.”

The song really showcases Nemo’s outstanding voice and adds depth through its emotional honesty, drawn from personal experience, something that definitely contributed to a stellar performance on the big stage.

Jerry Heil & Within Temptation – “Sing Like A Siren”

Jerry Heil represented Ukraine last year alongside alyona alyona. This year, she returned to the Eurovision stage with an interval performance in the First Semi-Final—a tribute to Celine Dion—joined by Marina Satti, Silvester Belt, and iolanda.

This week, Jerry released an exciting collaboration with Within Temptation. The song blends multiple genres, with a “folk vesnyanka as its central motif—a melody that’s hypnotic and fluid, much like the ebb and flow of water.” This traditional folk element is seamlessly fused with rock and classical influences, creating a powerful, genre-bending piece. The lyrics act as both a call to action and a guiding light for those feeling lost: “Open all the doors / Let the water come inside and / If you wanna face the storm / Feel the storm / Be the storm / And sing like a siren (…) I rise up from the ocean deep / Awaking from the winter sleep / In chaos I will find my peace.”

Jerry said about the song:

There are two main characters in this story: a girl and an elemental force – water. However, as the story unfolds, we realize there is, in fact, only one, because humans and nature are one. The raging water represents the challenges we face on the way to our ‘safe harbor’. But the key is understanding that we don’t have to fight nature. Once we see ourselves as part of it, we realize that sometimes, we are the ones who create the storm.

Aurela Gace – “Bela”

Aurela, who competed for Albania in 2011, is back this week with a fun new track—a playful take on being in love, with all its ups and downs. The song leans slightly into parody, capturing the drama and comedy of romance in a lighthearted way. It also serves as the soundtrack for the new Albanian road trip rom-com Luli & Goni Lemes, in which Aurela herself stars. So not only is she bringing the vocals, but she’s also hitting the big screen!

Käärijä was the public’s favorite in 2023 when he competed for Finland, and Baby Lasagna held the same title last year, representing Croatia. Both artists ended up as runner-ups, but now they’ve joined forces for a collaboration that many Eurovision fans have dreamed of.

Their new track is a total banger, and it’s sure to make a huge impact, especially live, at concerts. The song blends Finnish, English, and Croatian into one addictive mix that’s high-energy and impossible to forget. It’s the kind of track that gets stuck in your head after just one listen, and you won’t even mind. They also performed the song in the Eurovision Grand Final, making the audience clap and dab with them.

Soraya & Esteban Lopez – “Sundance”

Soraya, who competed for Spain in 2009, has a new collaboration with Esteban Lopez, and this is your newest summer hit—the perfect tune to get you into the summer, beach, and holiday mood. The song talks about feeling carefree and celebrating with your loved one. It has a summery dance vibe that will make you think of DJ sets at summer parties and festivals.

Salvador Sobral & Sílvia Pérez Cruz – Sílvia & Salvador

Salvador brought Portugal its first Eurovision victory in 2017. Recently, he has released several songs in duet with Spanish singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz, a collaboration defined by perfect harmonies and deep emotion. This week, they’ve gathered those songs into a full album.

The album features 11 tracks, all poetic and rooted in a folk singer-songwriter style. “Muerte ciquita” is the only flamenco song on the album, while “Someone to Sing Me to Sleep” is the only one in English.

Alongside the album, the duo released a music video for “Hoje já não é tarde” (Today is Not Too Late), a cinematic piece with a sentimental storyline. The song is about finding your soulmate—not necessarily right away, but eventually. It’s a message about how it’s never too late to start a new love, once you find the right person.

Andrei Ursu – “Sin Amor”

Andrei Ursu represented Romania in 2022 under his stage name at the time, WRS. If you’ve been missing his Latino tracks, his newest song, “Without Love,” brings back that beloved style, this time with a retro Spanish twist. The music video is in black and white, adding a touch of drama and enhancing the retro vibe. The song speaks about the pain that love brings when it’s not mutual. Enjoy the bachata sound of his latest track, which will be featured on his upcoming album, Canciones del Corazón, a Spanish-language album inspired by classic retro sounds.

Cláudia Pascoal – “Puras Donzelas”

Cláudia, who represented Portugal in 2018 alongside Isaura, is back with a powerful new song titled “Pure Maidens.” The music video has a playful, mobile-game-like aesthetic, using metaphors about being the black sheep and following the flock. But beneath the visuals lies a strong feminist message about being your own independent self, no matter what others expect from you: “I am a virgin (but I am not) / I am going to get married (but I will not) / We were once queens / So what are we today?” After a hiatus, Cláudia returns with a bold and empowering manifesto.

About the song, Cláudia said:

“Puras Donzelas” is an act of resistance against normativity and the oppression of individuality 🐑 I celebrate individual freedom and reject the traditional roles imposed on women in society and the music industry.

Jeroen van der Boom – “Levenslang”

Jeroen represented The Netherlands as part of the group De Toppers back in 2009. In this week’s track, he’s celebrating life. His newest song, “Lifetime,” is a summer hit with retro Dutch influences, all about embracing life, love, and the joy that comes with the summer season. The song is accompanied by a music video that serves as a sweet reminder: love always wins.

Scúru Fitchádu feat. CONAN OSIRIS – “Símia Kodjê”

Conan competed for Portugal in 2019. This week, he joins forces with Scúru Fitchádu for a song with a bold, striking sound—something already characteristic of Conan’s music. At the same time, the track finds balance through a sweet, poetic tone, creating not just vocal harmony, but a powerful contrast between intensity and depth. It’s a track that manages to be both fierce and emotionally rich—a true meeting point between strength and sensitivity.

Gromee & Sara Chmiel – “Nie Zobaczy Nikt”

Gromee, the well-known Polish DJ who represented his country in 2018 alongside Lukas Meijer, is back this week with a powerful new track. He crafted an addictive electro club tune for Sara Chmiel, who lends her vocals on his latest release, “No One Will See.”

The song tackles the serious issue of online hate—something more than 75% of teenagers have experienced. Many children and young people find it hard to talk about and often suffer in silence, with some even being pushed to the point of attempting suicide. The lyrics, written by Sara Chmiel, tell the story of an internal battle with personal demons and insecurities brought on by cruel, hateful comments online.

As Sara Chmiel explains “Each of us has faced hate on the internet many times. In such moments, we often pretend that everything is okay, that the negative words of others do not affect us. In reality, however, unjustified, unconstructive, unfair assessment brings great pain. In silence and solitude, we try to cope with it. If we do not show weakness, the outside world thinks everything is fine. That is why Gromee and I decided to pair a slightly upbeat musical layer with these not-so-cheerful lyrics—to show the paradox of the whole situation.” The song is an encouragement to seek help.

Hovig – “Mana Mou Tha Trelatho”

Hovig, who competed for Cyprus back in 2017, is back with a new track that brings a traditional, authentic vibe into the spotlight. His latest song, “Mama, I’m Going Crazy,” is full of energy and emotion. The music video feels like an open party invitation, full of vibrant visuals and fun. The lyrics talk about being completely obsessed with someone: “When you look at me I faint / Bring me a doctor / You’ve burned my mind / Mama, I’m going crazy.”

Barbara Dex – Simply Dex

Barbara, who represented Belgium in 1993, has just released a new album that feels like a window into her heart. The album features 9 tracks—a mix of her most popular songs from recent years, along with some of the performances she delivered on Liefde voor Muziek, the show she took part in over the past few weeks. The album contains 4 brand new singles.

PAENDA – “Location”

PAENDA, who competed for Austria in 2019, is back with a brand new track. Her newest song may have just “happened” in the studio—but the result is no accident. It’s a real banger. The track brings in a strong electronic club vibe, and the lyrics dive into the topic of physical love—questioning whether it’s too soon (or not) to send your location to someone you’re interested in.

Iveta Mukuchyan – “Ari U Gna”

Iveta, who represented Armenia in 2016, returns with a touching ballad titled “Come and Go.” It’s a powerful and emotional performance about love, instability, and unexpected chances—a song that not only showcases her stunning voice but also goes straight to the listener’s heart, breaking down every barrier.

Prāta Vētra, known internationally as Brainstorm, represented Latvia at Eurovision in 2000. This week, they released a new album featuring 11 songs in Latvian. Titled “Dragon Instructions Manual,” the album delivers a rock sound as wild and untamable as a dragon itself.

Alongside the album, the band also dropped a retro-aesthetic music video for “I Wanted to Be a Rockstar”—a reflective piece on fame, creativity, and the joys and sacrifices that come with chasing a dream.

Sinplus – “Who’s To Say”

We end the first part with Sinplus, who represented Switzerland back in 2012. Their latest release is a pure rock track—an energy booster that champions authenticity and living life in a way that truly brings us joy.

About the song, the duo said:

The song moves through the noise and confusion of everyday life, holding on to the hope that something real still waits beneath it all.
It asks who’s to say what’s possible, and dares to believe that better days are not just a dream,
but a choice we can make.

I love Rotkäppchen too.
I’m also addicted to an older song by them under the artist name Geborn titled “Liebe mit Verdacht”.
My favourite is “Mona Lisa”
