Following the victory of Italian rock band Måneskin and their song “Zitti e buoni” at Eurovision 2021, the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Turin, Italy in 2022.

Which countries and artists are doing Eurovision 2022?

40 countries are officially confirmed to be participating in Eurovision 2022. Broadcasters have until early March to select and announce their competing artists and songs.

🇦🇱 Albania: Ronela Hajati – “Sekret”

After winning Festivali i Këngës 60, Ronela Hajati will represent Albania with her song “Sekret”. A new version of the song with English and Albanian lyrics has been released for Eurovision.

🇦🇲 Armenia: Rosa Linn – “Snap”

After withdrawing in 2021, AMPTV will return to Eurovision 2022. The broadcaster has internally selected the singer Rosa Linn with the song “Snap”.

🇦🇺 Australia: Sheldon Riley – “Not the Same”

Sheldon Riley will represent Australia, after winning the national final Eurovision – Australia Decides. He will perform “Not The Same” in Turin.

🇦🇹 Austria: LUM!X feat. Pia Maria – “Halo”

Broadcaster ORF has internally selected the DJ and producer LUM!X. He will be joined by upcoming vocalist Pia Maria on “Halo”. The song is titled “Halo” and will be released on 11 March.

🇦🇿 Azerbaijan: Nadir Rustamli – “Fade to Black”

The Voice of Azerbaijan winner Nadir Rustamli has been internally selected to represent Azerbaijan. His song for Turin is “Fade to Black”.

🇧🇪 Belgium: Jérémie Makiese – “Miss You”

Wallonian broadcaster RTBF has internally selected The Voice Belgique champ Jérémie Makiese. He will perform “Miss You” in Turin.

🇧🇬 Bulgaria: Intelligent Music Project – “Intention”

Broadcaster BNT has internally selected the rock supergroup Intelligent Music Project, fronted by rock singer Ronnie Romero and featuring two-time Bulgarian Eurovision star, percussionist Stoyan. They will perform the song “Intention”.

🇭🇷 Croatia: Mia Dimšić – “Guilty Pleasure”

Croatia will be represented by Mia Dimšić, who won the national final Dora. She will perform “Guilty Pleasure”.

🇨🇾 Cyprus: Andromache – “Ela”

Broadcaster CyBC has internally selected their entry. Andromache will represent Cyprus with her song “Ela”.

🇨🇿 Czech Republic: We Are Domi – “Lights Off”

Czechia will be represented by the group We Are Domi with their song “Lights Off”. We Are Domi won the online national final ESCZ.

🇩🇰 Denmark: REDDI – “The Show”

Denmark will be represented by the pop-rock group REDDI and their song “The Show”. The band won Denmark’s national final Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022.

🇪🇪 Estonia: Stefan – “Hope”

Estonia will be represented by Eesti Laul 2022 winner Stefan Airapetjan. He will perform his song “Hope”.

🇫🇮 Finland: The Rasmus – “Jezebel”

Rock band The Rasmus will represent Finland at Eurovision 2022. The group won Finland’s national final UMK with their song “Jezebel”.

🇫🇷 France: Alvan and Ahez – “Fulenn”

France will be represented by the Breton musician Alvan along with the vocal trio Ahez. Their song “Fuelnn” is performed in the Breton language.

🇩🇪 Germany: Malik Harris – “Rockstars”

Germany will be represented by Malik Harris, the winner of the new German national final Germany 12 Points. He will perform his song “Rockstars”.

🇬🇪 Georgia: Circus Mircus – “Lock Me In”

Broadcaster GPB has internally selected the performance group Circus Mircus. They will perform “Lock Me In”.

🇬🇷 Greece: Amanda Tenfjord – “Die Together”

Broadcaster ERT has internally selected the Greek-Norwegian singer Amanda Tenfjord. She will perform the song “Die Together”.

🇮🇸 Iceland: Sigga, Beta and Elín – “Með hækkandi sól”

Iceland will be represented by the sisterly trio Sigga, Beta and Elín with their song “Með hækkandi sól”. The group won Iceland’s national final Söngvakeppnin.

🇮🇪 Ireland: Brooke – “That’s Rich”

Ireland has selected Brooke Scullion with the song “That’s Rich”, the winner of Ireland’s national final Eurosong.

🇮🇱 Israel: Michael Ben David – “I.M”

After winning The X Factor Israel, Michael Ben David will represent Israel with his song “I.M”.

🇮🇹  Italy: Mahmood & Blanco – “Brividi”

Eurovision 2019 runner-up Mahmood will return to Eurovision, this time with Italian trap artist Blanco. The pair will sing “Brividi”, which also won Sanremo 2022.

🇱🇻 Latvia: Citi Zēni – “Eat Your Salad”

Citi Zēni will represent Latvia with their song “Eat Your Salad”. The group won Latvia’s national final Supernova 2022.

🇱🇹 Lithuania: Monika Liu – “Sentimentai”

Monika Liu will represent Lithuania at Eurovision 2022. She won the national final Pabandom iš naujo! with her song “Sentimentai”.

🇲🇹 Malta: Emma Muscat – “I Am What I Am”

Emma Muscat will represent Malta in Turin. The singer won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Out of Sight” but will sing “I Am What I Am” at Eurovision 2022.

🇲🇩 Moldova: Zdob și Zdub and Frații Advahov – “Trenulețul”

After live auditions, broadcaster TRM has internally selected two-time Eurovision act Zdob și Zdub who will perform with folk duo Frații Advahov. Their song is “Trenulețul” – or “little train”.

🇲🇪 Montenegro: Vladana – “Breathe”

After two years off, Montenegro is returning to Eurovision. Broadcaster RTCG has internally selected Vladana Vučinić (who goes by her first name alone) for Eurovision. She will sing “Breathe”, described as a “cinematic piano ballad”, to be released at a later date.

🇳🇱 The Netherlands: S10 – “De diepte”

Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has internally selected the Dutch singer and rapper Stien den Hollander, who performs as S10 (pronounced “Steen”). She will perform the song “De diepte”, with lyrics in Dutch.

🇲🇰 North Macedonia: Andrea – “Circles”

North Macedonia will be represented by Andrea Koevska with her song “Circles”. Andrea won North Macedonia’s new national final Za Evrosong.

🇳🇴 Norway: Subwoolfer – “Give That Wolf a Banana”

Norway will be represented by the masked group Subwoolfer and their parable “Give That Wolf a Banana”. The group won Norway’s national final Melodi Grand Prix.

🇵🇱 Poland: Ochman – “River”

Poland will be represented by the Polish-American singer Krystian Ochman. He will sing his national final winning entry “River”.

🇵🇹 Portugal: Maro – “Saudade, saudade”

The singer Maro will represent Portugal with her song “Saudade, saudade”. She won Portugal’s national final Festival da Canção.

🇷🇴 Romania: WRS – “Llámame”

Romanian performer Andrei-Ionuț Ursu (better known as WRS) will represent Romania in Turin. He won Romania’s national final with his English and Spanish song “Llámame”.

🇸🇲 San Marino: Achille Lauro – “Stripper”

The Italian star Achille Lauro will represent neighbouring San Marino with his song “Stripper”. Lauro won San Marino’s new national final Una voce per San Marino.

🇷🇸 Serbia: Konstrakta – “In corpore sano”

Serbia will be represented by Ana Đurić, who performs as Konstrakta. She won the Serbian national final with her song “In corpore sano”.

🇸🇮 Slovenia: LPS – “Disko”

The Slovenian band LPS will represent their country with the song “Disko”. LPS won Slovenia’s national final EMA.

🇪🇸 Spain: Chanel – “SloMo”

Spain will be represented by Chanel Terrero, winner of the new national final Benidorm Fest. She will perform “SloMo”.

🇸🇪 Sweden: Cornelia Jakobs – “Hold Me Closer”

Cornelia Jakobs will represent Sweden at Eurovision 2022. She won Sweden’s national final Melodifestivalen with her song “Hold Me Closer”.

🇨🇭 Switzerland: Marius Bear – “Boys Do Cry”

Switzerland has again used its internal selection jury to choose its act for Eurovision 2022. Marius Bear will represent Switzerland with his song “Boys Do Cry”.

🇺🇦 Ukraine: Kalush Orchestra – “Stefania”

Ukraine will be represented by Vidbir 2022 runners-up, the Kalush Orchestra. They will perform their song “Stefania”.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom: Sam Ryder – “Space Man”

The BBC partnered with music and management company TaP Music to select the UK’s act for Turin. Sam Ryder will represent the UK with his song “Space Man”.

Which countries aren’t doing Eurovision 2022?

🇦🇩 Andorra: Despite speculation that Andorra would return to Eurovision in 2022, the state broadcaster has said that returning to Eurovision is “not among our projects.” The broadcaster has also confirmed to reputable fan media that it does not intend to return to Eurovision in 2022.

🇧🇦 Bosnia and Herzegovina: Broadcaster BHRT has confirmed that they are still under sanctions from the EBU due to substantial unpaid debt. This means BHTC is unable to compete at Eurovision.

🇭🇺 Hungary: Despite fan rumours suggesting a comeback, Hungary’s song contest A Dal 2022 will again not be used as a Eurovision national final and Hungary is not on the list of confirmed countries.

🇱🇺 Luxembourg: Broadcaster RTL confirmed to reputable fan media that it has no plans to return to Eurovision in 2022. The broadcaster says its focus is on “news features rather than music and entertainment shows”.

🇲🇨 Monaco: Broadcaster TMC confirmed to reputable fan media that it will not participate at Eurovision 2022.

🇷🇺 Russia: After initially being confirmed for Eurovision 2022, the EBU later said that “in light of the unprecedented crisis in Ukraine, the inclusion of a Russian entry in this year’s Contest would bring the competition into disrepute.”

🇸🇰 Slovakia: Broadcaster RTVS confirmed to Czech fan media that it does not intend to return to Eurovision in 2022.

🇹🇷 Turkey: Turkey has not competed at Eurovision since 2012, however in June the EBU said they were in contact with broadcaster TRT regarding a return. Turkey was not on the list of confirmed acts for Turin.

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan: While Kazakhstan broadcaster Khabar Agency competes at Junior Eurovision via a special invitation, the EBU previously said it had “no plans” to extend the invitation to Eurovision 2021.

Non-members of the EBU

🔴 Belarus: The EBU has currently suspended the membership of broadcaster BTRC, making it ineligible to participate in Eurovision 2022.

🇽🇰 Kosovo: Broadcaster RTK does not currently meet membership criteria for joining the European Broadcasting Union. As a non-member, they are unable to compete at Eurovision. In the past, the EBU has also confirmed they have “no plans” to give Kosovo a special invitation to compete.

🇱🇮 Liechtenstein: The microstate’s broadcaster 1FL TV confirmed that it has no plans to join the EBU and participate at Eurovision. The small broadcaster cited the high costs of participating as the reason for not joining.


Where is Eurovision 2022 being held?

Eurovision 2020 will be held in Turin, Italy. The song contest will be held at the PalaOlimpico arena. It has not yet been confirmed if there will be a Euro Village or Euroclub and where such events would be held.

When will Eurovision 2022 be held?

The grand final of Eurovision 2022 will be held on 14 May 2022. Semi-final one will be held on 10 May and semi-final two will be on 12 May.
