margaret blue vibes the smurfs

She was the winner of our Top National Final Songs contest last year with “Cool Me Down”. Now, Margaret returns with a brand new track for 2017 — and she’s bringing some friends with her. “Blue Vibes” helps promote the new movie for The Smurfs, “The Lost Village”.

Margaret — “Blue Vibes”

The song itself doesn’t really stray too far out of Margaret’s latest offerings. It’s perhaps a little more chilled compared to “Elephant”, with less of the aggressive drums and a more summery feel to the beat.

The song also doesn’t tie itself in to the Smurfs at all: this isn’t a theme song, merely a riff. We’re thinking “Can’t Stop the Feeling” here, y’all. It’s a grown up track that suits Margaret’s vocal and doesn’t sacrifice to fit a PR campaign, but is merely enhanced by it. Get that promo going, girl!

Similarly, the video plays along with the happy go lucky theme. Interspersed with clips of the film, there’s shots of Margaret dancing and jumping around. Later on the video, she’s joined by Smurfette — voiced in the film by Demi Lovato — who drops some moves alongside Margaret.

We love Margaret’s white and yellow jacket/pants combo, too. It’s clear she’s enjoying herself and that comes through in the music too. It’s an enjoyable listen from start to finish and another hit in her catalogue.

What do you think of “Blue Vibes”? Does it match up with Margaret’s other releases? Shout out your thoughts on the track in the wiwibloggs app — or leave a comment below.

I’ve been trying to ignore insults from that idiotic and narrow-minded troll, @Rammsteiner (or @xoxo, or @Yayaya, @Kimmm, or whatever other fake username they have come up with) and even think of them as a motive to laugh, but that’s enough. Wiwibloggs, please do something. I’m sure nobody would like to get to read offensive and disrespectful comments about them every time they visit your site.

Nice song. Also she’s going to release a new worldwide single “What’d You Do” soon, maybe even in March. It will promote her new album. Radio stations have received that single already and here you can hear snippet http://www.eska.pl/news/margaret_-_nowa_piosenka_what_d_you_do_fragment_i_data_premiery_video/139706
I think she’s waiting for music video now (shooting finished month ago) and want to release both at the same time.

Meh. I’m not a fan of Margaret. I thought she was overrated last year but I’m glad she’s doing well.
