As with many other broadcasters this year, KAN has been very discreet about its Eurovision entry. Last week they released a minimalist teaser which features the name of the song – “Home” – and an interactive drawing of a home being created.
Today KAN has gone further, releasing a 20-second snippet of the song with the following introduction.
“Eurovision is coming home. KAN are excited to reveal a snippet of Home, the song that will represent Israel in Tel Aviv. The full clip will be revealed on Sunday…”
Kobi Marimi, Israel’s representative, tweeted his own message, which sounds quite promising:
Are you ready for it? Cause I am”
Are you ready for it?

“Home” was written and composed by Ohad Shragai and Inbar Vaizman, and it’s described as “a touching ballad that will be perfect for Kobi’s powerful voice.”
This is definitely expressed in the snippet and we can assume that Kobi’s huge vocals will play a major role in the song. The snippet was also aired on Keshet Channel 12 during their 8pm news. Curiously and perhaps wisely, the news presenter had his own observation: “This short snippet doesn’t tell us much about the song…”
Speaking of his song with Wiwibloggs about two weeks ago, Kobi said: “When I first heard the song I was very moved by it, and I immediately connected to it. Thank you to the committee for choosing a song that fits me perfectly.”
The song will be released on Sunday, 10 March, 2019 and will be broadcast during the Israeli TV awards. Does this mean a decent ranking for the host country — after previous hosts have endured so much heartache? Currently it is ranked 26th (out of 41) with the bookies…but this is before the song has been released.
We will have to wait until 18 May to find out.
Very promising… I get traditional vibes, a power ballad and great vocals. Really looking forward to this!

this is a joke very teatrical
i guess it’s not him singing here
The piano is giving me the Leona Lewis – Run vibes. Expecting a ballad that builds to a climax….
What is it with snippets this year? Give us the whole thing so there’s less chance of disappointment.
Gave me chills already… Hope it’s as good as these 20 seconds!!!!
So we can expect yet another sleepy-sounding song, huh?
It’s gonna be very emotional and will explow big time…wait for Sunday evening…
Emotional sure, but probably still slow and serious. Like the majority of this year’s songs.
Some of them are still good songs, …but we usually have more variation than this so yeah i’m a little disappointed.
really beautiful clip but did it make anyone else think of the halo main theme
sounds pretty safe, i would’ve hoped the host country would get a bit riskier but then again kobi could only serve one type of song
It’s either good and unique or bad and generic….don’t know what is safe. ..ballad is not safe if it’s bad and generic
what are yall crying about. many countires didnt release their song yet. a snippet is better than nothing
am i the only one excited for this haha
No you are not…all Israel is…kobi is addicting
Sounds like a song from church or synagogue. :p
Yeah…it’s going to be very emotional ballad
Jesus, just release the song already…
a snippet at that point? I thought we’re in march
A snippet at this point…just give us the damn song…
Zena for Belarus!
Tis doesn’t give away much. Kobi is talented, the songwriter is talented. This will be great! Much love to Kobi and everyone!
The surprise of eurovision 2019 is about to be revealed….kobi’s song will bring tears of joy to every person across Europe…I’m not sure Europe is ready for this huge anthem….good luck kobi…
Yep, doesn’t tell much indeed
However, that’s how I love Kobi’s voice – gentle, not exaggerating or holding every note as long as possible
I hope he’s going for the gentle style though I know he’ll definitely be shouting as well
Sounds interesting though, I wish we had more, like some lyrics as well
Oh my gosh I really love these tell nothing snippets
Haha totally!
